I have copied over my music files to a new computer and the music shows on itunes but wont play. When I track where the song is located it is reading the wrong information. How do I change this as Edit>Preferences has the right location?

Select one of the tracks with a broken link, press ctrl-i to Get Info. Say No when iTunes asks if you would like to locate the track, then look at the Summary tab for the location expects to find the file in.
Now try to locate the file in question. The two locations should give a clue as to what to do next.
Here is an example with a file I've deliberately moved from the new layout to the old pre-iTunes 9 layout.
This means iTunes is expecting to find the file at:
D:\iTunes\iTunes Media\Music\a-ha\Take On Me\01 Take On Me.mp3
but it isn't there because I've moved it to:
D:\iTunes\iTunes Media\a-ha\Take On Me\01 Take On Me.mp3
which is where it would have lived back in iTunes 8 (though the media folder would have been called iTunes Music back then as well).
If you can provide the expected and actual locations of a broken track I should be able to suggest the easiest way to resolve things.

Do you want to transfer the entire library? If so just connect the two Macs together and copy the iPhoto Library from Mac A to Mac B and put it in your Pictures folder. Be sure to rename it if you already have a library in the destination folder so as not to overwrite.
Under no circumstances should you import a library into another library.

I guess this is what I want to do. I have jillions of photos that were transferred in a Windows version of photoshop (many different versions) plus some that were transferred from my iPhone and also in Nikon Transfer (before I started using Photoshop). Then I got the brilliant idea that I wanted to start using Mac for all of my photo projects and I'm dead in the water right now because I can't figure out how to move all of these Windows based filed to the new Mac - especial since the I have a current mac version of Photoshop and the Windows version that I have is older. By default your Photo booth pictures are in the photo booth folder in the the pictures folder - if you move them from there then Photo Booth will not see them
When I move them I want to organize them how I usually did on windows. Very neat & organized.
That is fine - but if you want to view them in Photo Booth you need to leave them where it knows about them. And once you import them into iPhoto you must leave the copies (done by default and strongly recommended - especially for new users) inside the iPhoto library alone - you must never make any changes of any sort to the contents of the iPhoto library

You can - but you do need to learn how to use any new system or new software - and you have both a new system and new software - you need to learn it
The answer to your subject is to open the photo booth folder and drag the photos to iPhoto - it will import them into iPhoto and take care of them there - after importing you can do what you want with the photos outside of iPhoto

The "View as icon" option shrinks the photo to an icon in the sender's Apple Mail, but how it appears to the recipient varies dependingy on what e-mail client he/she uses.
Using Apple Mail 5.0 (the Lion version) at both ends, the sender can use the "View as icon" option to shrink his view of the photo to an icon, but the recipient also using Apple Mail 5.0 still sees the full photo in line with the message text. The recipient can then use the "View as icon" option to shrink it to an icon, but I don't think that's not what jackofarabia is looking for.
As far as I know there is no way in the current Apple Mail to do what jackofarabia wants. There should be, but there isn't.

You might think so. But it's difficult to decide what people mean. You understood the question, I didn't. If you copied the catalog and everything from the old computer to the new one and utilized the old catalog, the smart collections should still be in place. The old catalog would have to be converted to the new format, and you might have to relink missing images. But after that is all done the smart collections should be in place.

If you were using the same serial number then, yes. You are only allowed two installs and they should be on computers used by the licensee (you).
You would need to deactivate on any additional computers if this is the case.

The syncing of music is not a true sync process - not really a sync at all. It is a transfer process. No iTunes content in your iTunes library will ever be touched or removed by syncing an iDevice.
Where is your old computer - the one with your iTunes library that was used to sync with your iPhone? Why didn't you transfer your iTunes library from your old computer to your new computer along with all other important data such as documents, photos, etc.?
If your old computer is still available, transfer your iTunes library from your old computer to your new computer per the instructions included with this link. This will prevent any iTunes content from being removed from your iPhone with the first sync with iTunes on your new computer.

No. You cannot join the two libraries. She can make a copy of your iTunes library on her computer, then switch libraries when opening iTunes if she needs to handle the other devices. Note that everything you have downloaded for your kids on your computer are connected to your Apple ID. Your wife cannot transfer anything to her Apple ID.
Using More than One iDevice on the Same Computer
This applies mainly to couples who are adding another device and do not want their email, messages, etc. being duplicated on both devices. To begin read: How to use multiple iPhone, iPad, or iPod devices with one computer. You need to establish a separate Apple ID and password for whomever will use the new iDevice. On the computer create a new user account for the person with the new iDevice. This will be the user account that person will always use. He/She will no longer use the other user account. This way that person will have a separate iTunes Library
Start by transferring the new device(s) to a new account along with all your data. Save any photo stream photos that you want to keep to your camera roll (unless they are already in the camera roll) by opening your Photos app, tap on Albums icon at the bottom. Tap on Settings > iCloud > Delete Account (only deletes it from this device, not from iCloud; the person keeping the current account will not be affected,) provide the password to turn off Find My Phone and choose Keep on My iDevice when prompted. Sign in with a different Apple ID to create your new account. Choose Merge to upload your data.
Once you are on separate accounts, you can each go to icloud.com and delete the other person's data from your account.

Probably the most straightforward way to get iTunes onto your second computer is to network it with the first one and copy your iTunes folder across. Start by consolidating your library. When you consolidate, any songs in the iTunes Library that are not in the iTunes Music Folder are copied to the Music Folder and the Library is updated to point to those new files. Files already in the iTunes Music Folder have no changes made to them: Copying all your iTunes files to one location - Windows
Copying the whole folder brings with it the iTunes Music folder and also the iTunes Library (iTunes Library.itl in Windows) database file which holds all the information about your songs (Playlists, Ratings, Play Counts, Last Played, Date Added, etc). When you copy the iTunes folder make sure you put it into the same location on the new computer. On a PC the default location is \Documents and Settings\Username\My Documents\My Music\ (or C:\Username\Music\ in Vista). You should also use the same version of iTunes on both computers.
You can also use this method with an external hard drive, you drag the folder from the first computer to the external drive and then from the drive to the second computer.
