How can i move the music from my iphone onto my new itunes?
hi
ive just got a new laptop and i installed itunes thinking that when i plugged in my iphone it would take the music library from the phone to the laptop so i had an up to date library on my phone and the itunes on my laptop. however, this didnt happen. the itunes acknowledges my iphone as the 'closey 16's iphone' appears in the left hand column and it also charges the battery, so the usb lead is definitely working. Does anyone know how to sort this out? please?!
thanksThe iPhone is not a backup storage device and sync is technically one way. You need to get your data from your old machine (or backup...you do make backups right) to your new machine then into iTunes. Then you can sync them to your iPhone (which will clear the iPhone and sync content back again as you can only sync media with one computer).
One other option is to choose "Transfer Purchased Content" from the menu (in Windows it would be rightclick on your iPhone in iTunes or from File menu...sorry I don't use a Mac).
However, note, that will ONLY copy over items you bought via iTunes and NOT items you got another way (eg: ripped, from another store, etc) as there is no way to verify you own a legal copy. -

I'm new to Mac. I have an iPhone and a Mac Mini. My original iTunes was on a Windows computer that crashed. So, all of my iTunes Music and Movies are gone. How do I get the movies and music from my iPhone to the new Mac Mini?
If you still have the crashed Win computer, you may be able to recover your music and movies from the hard drive. If you have a friend with a hard drive USB connection kit and a PC, they should be able to help. Otherwise, check locally for computer services that might do that for you (I think Best Buy Geek Squad may be able to help). If the drive itself is in good shape, it shouldn't be too expensive.

How do I move the music from my iTunes library on my desktop computer to my iPad?
How do I move the music from my iTunes library on my desktop computer to my iPad?
Connect the iPad to your computer and select it on the left-hand sidebar of your computer's iTunes (if you have iTunes 11 on your computer then you can enable the left-hand sidebar via control-S on a PC, option-command-S on a Mac), and then use the Music tab on the right-hand side of iTunes to select which of your iTunes music to sync to the iPad's Music app

HT1535 how do I move my music from my ipad to a new computer with itunes?
how do I move my music from my ipad to a new computer with itunes. I have already done the purchases
If you want to copy music off then File > Transfer Purchases will only copy iTunes purchased music off the iPad. To copy music bought from other sources and/or copied from CDs then you will need to use a third-party program to copy them off - see the page that I linked to for some examples.
There is some help on this page for syncing to a new computer : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141 -
I have an IPhone 5, and of course I have used ITunes. My Computer has been completely destroyed, so I have to Purchase a new one. How can I transfer my music from my iPhone to my New PC?
The way I do it is I hook to my windows computer, it will pop up iTunes. I click iTunes off. The phone will show as another drive on your computer. Click it open then migrate to the photos folder from the iPhone.
Then select all, cut then right click on your pictures folder on your computer or make a new folder on your desk top like I do and right click on new folder and select paste.
Photos will be gone. Just remember to turn off the iPhone sync in your photos folder on the phone or they will come back
Good Luck -
How do I transfer the music from my IPod to my new IMac computer? I just changed from a PC to IMac. 95% of the music on it is from CD's I own and the ITunes on the new IMac is only recongnizing the ones I bought off of ITunes.
That is correct. The music sync is one way - computer to ipod. The only exception is itunes purchases.
Copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer to your new one. -
My old computer has crashed with my old itunes on it. How can I transfer my music from my iphone to my new itunes library?
Use the backup of the old computer and copy the iTunes files to the new one.
However, since you are writing here, you probably didn't have a backup, so check out this user provided support document https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141 -
How to I get my music from my iphone to my new macbook
My Macbook was stolen last month. I have replaced my macbook and was wondering how to get all my music from my iphone on to my new macbook? I thought Icloud would save my files, photos and music but it apparently did not. Any help is appreciated.
ChuckThe iphone is not a storage/backup device.
Was your backup copy of your computer stolen as well?

Moving music from my iphone to a new authorized computer (mac)
Can I move my music from my iphone to my mac that i just authorized with itunes?
iTunes includes an option to transfer iTunes content from an iPod or iPhone that was purchased from the iTunes store, but this is for iTunes content that was purchased from the iTunes store only.
With your iPhone connected and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone.
If your iPhone includes iTunes content that was not purchased from the iTunes store such as music that was imported into your iTunes library from a music CD, you need to transfer your iTunes library from the computer you were syncing your iPhone with to your new Mac. -
I got a new computer and somehow have lost some of my more recently purchased and or imported music. I have some of that music on an iphone and some on an ipad. How do I get the music from those devices into my itunes library without losing everything else?
Some of the information below has subsequently appeared in a document by turingtest2: Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991
Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred to a computer.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only purchases from iTunes Store
For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software. Examples (check the web for others; this is not an exhaustive listing, nor do I have any idea if they are any good):

How do I move my music from an Ipod to my new Iphone?
I have a new iphone. All of my music is in an itunes library on my pc. How do I move it the iphone. When I sync this does not happen?
Have you selected Sync Music under the Music tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes making your music selections below to be transferred such as select playlists, genres, artists, albums, etc., or do you have your entire music library selected to be transferred?

i am trying to transfer the music i have on my ipod to a new computer but i no longer have access to the old computer. Is there anyway that this can be done?
Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer is structured around you maintaining your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, matching the device content to the content on the computer. The exception is purchased content.
