How do I move the home page button back to the left side of the menu bar?

When I installed Firefox 4.0, the home page button "moved" to the right top of the menu bar. It was at the top left in the previous versions of Firefox. I want to put it back on the left. I use a desktop Mac Pro with Mac OS 10.5.8.

On safari i can't find the home page button. How can I get to appear?

Hi drpepper100, Welcome to Apple's Users Help Users Forums.
Safari / View Customize Address Bar. Drag Home to where you want it.

  • Change the home page buttons

is there any way to change the home page buttons with other buttons from the menu?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Yes, there is.
Scroll to and choose (don't click on it, just have it highlighted) the icon you wish to move around and press the Menu key > Move. Scroll it to where you want it to be on the homescreen.
If the icon you want to be on the homscreen is now located in another folder, scroll to it and choose Menu > Move to Folder > Homescreen.

  • How can I move my Home & Refresh icons back to the left of the toolbar. Dragging does not work.

Since updating to the latest Mozilla version, the Home Page icon has moved to the right of the navigation toolbar and the Refresh icon is attached to the browser search window. I have tried dragging them back to the left with no success. I HATE them in their new locations. Can you either put them back or make it possible for us to move them?

    # Right-click on a toolbar and choose Customize to open the customize toolbar dialog
    # With the customize toolbar dialog on display you can drag and drop the icons, placing them where you want

  • When I click the home button firefox switches to the home page, but also opens a new tab with the firefox startup page.

This is so annoying. I wind up with a bunch of extra tabs that I have to close.

Make sure that you haven't set multiple home pages, separated by a pipe (|) symbol.
See these articles for some suggestions:

  • Why does selecting a web link open 2 windows, one with the link and the other the home page? This is a single click of the mouse.

When I single click on a weblink (usually in an email, Firefox starts up and opens two windows; one with the selected web page and one with my home page. If Firefox is running, it opens a new tab which is what normally occurs. It is only when it is not open that I now get the 2 windows. I have an imac running OSX 10.6.3

    Hi,
The rolling over from radius servers only occurs on the same wlan and only when the controller deems the radius server being dead. However, if you get rejected from one WLAN but then you reassociate to another WLAN there is no mechanism in place in rejecting the attempt because they previously failed on a seperate wlan. This happens all the time with users connecting on incorrect wlans.
The failover feature is for when you have multiple servers (usually for redundancy) on the same WLAN. So when user is rejected but radius server 1 the process stops there and the request isnt sent to radius server 2.
    Hope that helps!

  • Firefox wont always restart on the home page - goes back to the last page viewed

will close firefox, and when i reopen it, it will reopen on the last page rather than what i have set it up for our home page..

    # Open the Options window and go to the General panel
    # Change the setting "When Firefox starts" to "Show my home page"

  • When i open the firefox browser the home page is shifted towards my right and remains the same for any web page i opem

any page i open the page is hsifted towards my right

I did manage to paste that code in the location bar and for that brief episode I had a google search engine for the fire start page. However, when I closed id down and re-booted the page, it reverted to ask.com as the primary search engine so that really did not solve my problem. By the way, the start page that I have does not show google to the left of the large central bar of the start page. I wonder if I should uninstall google 7 and reinstall it? I probably would lose my favorites and I don't want to lose them by doing this. Somewhere in this computer ask.com is flourishing just like a virus. I removed it's toolbar permanently both in extensions and in the programs section to no avail.

  • My control button does not allow me to return to the home page. I have to completely shut down the system and reboot to switch to another application.

My navigating button, key does not allow me to switch to other applications. To do this I have to
Shut down and reboot. I spoke with apple customer service on
Friday and they has me connect to the computer and download any new
And updated information. That resolved the issue for one day and the problem
    Started again.

Try restoring your phone as a "new" device in iTunes, not from backup. When finished, eject your phone. Do not sync any content back to your phone. How are things working now? If OK, sync your content back to your phone. If not, make an appointment at an Apple store, as you most likely have a hardware issue.

  • When I'm on my forum and click the banner to go back to the home page, it opens up a new tab of the home page instead of staying in the same tab; how do I fix this? :S

    It's EXTREMELY annoying. >.>

Third-party system modifications are a common cause of instability and poor performance. The following procedure will help identify which such modifications you've installed. Don’t be alarmed by the complexity of these instructions -- they’re easy to carry out and won’t change anything on your Mac.
Reboot as usual (not in safe mode) if you haven't already done so. Launch the Terminal application, copy or drag -- do not type -- the line of text below into the window, and press return:
    kextstat -kl | awk ' !/apple/ { print $6 $7 } '
Post the lines of output (if any) that appear below what you just entered (the text, please, not a screenshot.)
Next, do the same thing with this line:
    sudo launchctl list | sed 1d | awk ' !/0x|apple|com\.vix|edu\.|org\./ { print $3 } '
That's one line, not two. You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. You don't need to post the warning.
    Next, this command:
    launchctl list | sed 1d | awk ' !/0x|apple|edu\.|org\./ { print $3 } '
Again, one line. Finally, one more:
    ls -1A {,/}Library/{Ad,Compon,Ex,Fram,In,La,Mail/B,P*P,Priv,Qu,Scripti,Se,Sta}* 2> /dev/null
Remember, this is all drag-and-drop or copy-and-paste, whichever you prefer -- no typing, except your password.
    You can then quit Terminal.

    I'm using Firefox 4.0 pm a Windows7 OS.

    Vishal,
    1. How do I access application level items like F119_THIS_PAGE_ID in pl/sql ? I tried F119_THIS_PAGE_ID,:F119_THIS_PAGE_ID,&F119_THIS_PAGE_ID. but all failed. What do you mean by "in pl/sql"? In a PL/SQL Expression condition you can use: if :F119_THIS_PAGE_ID <> :APP_PAGE_ID but in a PL/SQL stored procedure you have to use: if v('F119_THIS_PAGE_ID') <> v('APP_PAGE_ID') .
2.How to set a condition for computation#2 that it should only fire if F119_THIS_PAGE_ID <> :APP_PAGE_ID. I tried expression 1 <> expression 2, current page <> expression 1 but nothing seems to be working
Condition type: PL/SQL Expression as shown above should work.
    3. Lastly, is this the best or the only way of doing something like this, any suggestions ?
Looks ok to me. Sometimes javascript:window.history.go(-1) can be useful.

  • Home page button not working right on my iPad 2

Does anyone has problems with the home page button?

    Hi everyone,
I also had the same problem like less than a month after I purchased my iPad 2. I used to think that it was due to the iOS update to 4.3.x, as I got mine out of the box with the version prior to that, and didn't have problems before I updated.
However, it could also be that the home button pad had accummulated oil/dirt from our thumbs, which get in the way of it working properly.
    Here's what I did:
    1. Turned off my iPad2.
    2. Wet my thumb with alcohol (not too wet, say a drop or two), and pressed down on the home button and rubbed the alcohol in in a circular motion. The idea is to let the alcohol break down the oil and dirt.
    3. Wiped the home button thoroughly with a clean cloth (i dont recommend tissue or cotton as it might leave residue that could again 'clog' the inside perimeter of the home button.
Before I did that, my home button was responding in around 1 click out of 20-30 tries. After cleaning, the home button now responds in 9 out of 10 presses.
Let us know if you try and find that this works for you as well.

  • Please tell me how to eliminate games on the home page.

I'm a new Firefox user. I liked it until the game appeared on the home page. I understand Mozilla will eventually remove the game. In the meantime, I feel visually disturbed.
Please tell me how to remove this.
    Apparently it will happen again.
I don't want to use a browser which uses animations on the home page.
I loved the user control of iGoogle. I quit Google due to animations during the International Soccer tournament. Firefox is cleaner and easier to read than Google Chrome.
Please tell me if I need to give up and return to Safari.
    thank you,

If you prefer not to see the snippets on the about:home page or otherwise experience problems with a snippet then you can set the <b>browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl</b> pref to an empty string on the <b>about:config</b> page.
Delete the <b>storage\persistent\moz-safe-about+home</b> folder in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed ("3-bar" Firefox menu button > Exit/Quit) to remove snippets stored in IndexedDB and make Firefox use a default snippet set.
You can reset the browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl pref via the right-click context menu to the default value to re-enable the snippets and make Firefox recreate the moz-safe-about+home folder.
You need to close and restart Firefox after changing the value of the browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl pref.
You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)
You can open the <b>about:config</b> page via the location/address bar.
You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.
