How do i only upload certain photos to photo stream?

i dont want every photo i take to be uploaded to photo stream. often times i take photos until i get exactly what i want, so alot of my photos are deleted useless. how do i simply upload the ones i want to backup?

You have no control over this, other than to delete the photos you don't want from your photo stream. New photos are all automatically pushed to your photo stream whenever you device is connected to wifi with the camera app closed and has at least 20% battery life remaining.
Perhaps more importantly, you can't use iCloud to back up your photos. Photo stream photos only remain in iCloud for 30 days, and if you delete them from your phone, they are also deleted from iCloud. Camera roll photos are included in your iCloud backup, but if you delete the photos from your phone, then continue to back it up, the backup containing the deleted photos will be overwritten by a backup that doesn't, and they will be lost.
To keep your camera roll photos, import them to your computer using your usb cable, as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083. If you need to back up photo stream photos that aren't in your camera roll, save them to the camera roll by tapping Edit (Select in iOS 7), tap the photos, tap Share (the share icon in iOS 7), then tap Save to Camera Roll. Then they can be imported to your computer as well.

There is a way to find and recover individual photos from a Time Machine backup.
1 - dowload and launch Find Any File.
2 - select the Time Machine hard drive in FAF's Find Items menu.
3 - enter the full file name of the photo you want to recover into FAF and use the Find button.
NOTE: it will take a while for FAF to retrieve and display the results of the search due to the nature of how TM makes its backups. 30 seconds or so is normal.
4 - select the file in the Masters folder and use the Space bar to verify it's the one you want with Quickview.
5 - drag the file from the FAF window to your Desktop.
6 - repeat for each photo you need to restore.

I have created a course through Captivate 6, throughout the course there are questions to guage the learners attention. There is also a quiz at the end. However, captivate includes on the questions throughout the course on the quiz results which I do not want to happen.

Branch aware turns off the playbar in 6 (not in 7 any more, at least not for me).
Could you explain more in detail what you want, because I don't understand it. You want the user to answer all questions, but the score should only show what? If you don't want some questions to have a score added to the Quiz total, you can indicate that in the Properties of that Question slide.
And please, tell the exact number (3 versions of 6), and also if you have to report to a LMS?

Hi.
Ignore iPhoto's initial 'ready to import...' screen. Instead, choose File > Import to Library. There you'll get a navigation dialog. If your camera mounts on the Desktop like an external drive (it appears in the left column of a Finder window, below your Hard Drive) then you can navigate to the camera, preview the files, and select only the ones you wish to import.
If your camera does not mount on the Desktop (most Canons don't) then you can mount the card by using a USB card reader.
Or, use the multi-step method where you launch Image Capture, "Download Some" to a Desktop folder, import into iPhoto, and delete the Desktop folder. This method allows you to browse the files on your camera even if it doesn't mount on the Desktop.
A general Mac technique that works in the Finder, iPhoto, and many apps:
Shift-click to select a contiguous range of items;
Command-click to select or deselect discontiguous items.
About Image Capture: Command-click works if your put the window in 'List' view.

Operating System Installed: Windows 7 Enterprise (64bit)
I work at a K-12 school and purchased the HP Color LaserJet Professional CP5225dn Printer (CE712A) for use in our computer lab. I would like to know if it is possible to have it so that only certain users can print in color (possibly put a password on it). I know the cost for color is higher, and therefore, would like it so that students have to approve through teacher if they want to print in color.
We are running it on our Print Server (networked) not through USB.

That's a very good question actually. In my corporate networks, we are talking about hundreds of laser printers and the ONLY thing we can do: only allow people access to a set of mono laser printers, not all printers. For example, the following printer is using B&W as default but can't stop users to print in colors if they could access to the resourse:

How do I only show thumbnails in the photo gallery without showing the Main Image?

I need help customizing the Spry Photo Gallery Demo...
I would like for the Main Image To Be Hidden when the html
page loads. After the user clicks the thumbnail, I would like to
have the Main Image load centered on the page(with div containing
close button) on a z-index above the thumbnails. While the
thumbnails layer has a fade effect to 10%. After the user clicks
the close button the Main image disappears and the thumbnails layer
fades back to 100%. Then the user can click another thumbnail and
so on and so forth...
Is this possible? I have tried everything I can think of with
my limited knowlege of spry and cant get it to work. I just need
help with the Large image part. The close button and fades I can
handle.

There is a third-party program called Attachment Tamer that will do that for you. In the Terminal, you can type this:
defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing -bool yes
Also note that while Attachment Tamer does some things with the encoding that makes certain email clients display the item as an attachment, what shows up at the receiver's end is solely dependent on their email client and its settings.

How can I only have certain calendars in notification center?

So I received an iPad 2 for Christmas (I know a step behind but I'm not complaining) and for the most part it is AWESOME! I synced everything fairly easily and if I had any trouble I could find a solution online in mere minutes. What I have discovered though is that my all my shared calendars show in the notification center. I use google calendar and I will not be switching to another. I like it. I utilize shared calendars so my family and friends stay connected but I don't want to see all 6 shared calendars events in my notification center. At this point this feature is pretty useless to me. I also have an issue with my one calendar not showing certain things in notification center. It is 1pm now and my 3pm-2am event is not showing in there. If there is a way to fix all this please let me know. If not now can I report a request to apple to express my desire to have those functionalities? :)

All you can do is created playlists and then use them to sync your selected music. Or you can individually select artists, albums, and tracks in the Music tab section of iTunes when your phone is connected to the computer.

How do i Only burning certain parts of songs to disc (like a mix)?

After experimenting with your information, I found the order was - R click song, Get Info, Options, Choose start/stop time for the bit you want, tick boxes, Click OK, then create New Playlist from File, Drag and Drop the song into the new playlist, play the song from the New Playlist and it should work.

How can I 're-upload' photos to iCloud Photo Library Beta?

iCloud Photo Library a beta is set up to optimise iPad storage, but when trying to clean up my photo library, and opening photos to assess quality (which isn't feasible with the reduced resolution versions stored on my iPad) the full versions have downloaded and wiped out the storage capacity on my ipad! I need to revert to to the 'minimised' version, but can't see how to do this. Any help appreciated!

iCloud Photo Library is still a beta version. (See: iCloud Photo Library beta FAQ) The Mac part has not yet been released, but all be available early next year. We do not know yet, what the Mac part of iCloud Photo Library will be like. The Photos.app for Mac will be able to upload to iCloud Photo Library. If you simply wait till early next year, it will be the easiest transit. Then you will be able to migrate iPhoto Libraries and Aperture Libraries to Photos and store the photos in iCloud.
Right now, only iPad, iPhones, iPod Touches can upload to iCloud Photo Library Beta. And if you enable iCloud Photo Library Beta on your mobile devices, the usual ways to upload photos from your Mac will be disabled. It will no longer be possible to sync photos with iTunes, and you cannot upload using My Photo Stream. You would have to mail the photos to your mobile devices to upload them to iCloud Photo Library Beta or use Dropbox or similar.

the booting and walking away and then attempting to browse and clean method is what i've been trying to do. it won't let me drag and drop and just freezes up and goes to sleep after 2 minutes. it's a never ending battle with very few results. which is why i questioned the method of just restoring the hd from a time machine backup.
do you think restoring the hd from time machine will resolve the issue with all pics on the desktop? and everything will be as it was from the date i restore it from? sorry, as you can tell, i'm not overly computer savvy.
i have a really old desktop mac...i can try connecting the two...how does one boot a mac in 'target mode'?
as for the iphoto cleaning and organizing issue...that is what i was trying to accomplish with importing them to a folder. was going to browse and clean from there...but somehow imported to desktop which is what's complicating everything. once i get them off the desktop i can work on the iphoto issue...which as i mentioned...i didn't take 45,000 pics...i've just taken about 4,500 over the last few years, and they are being duplicated in iphoto. this was my attempt to clean it out entirely and start over. it will basically be a lot of deleting.

You have to restore whole libraries.. but if you want your whole itunes library you can do that.
