How do I open a Jar by Double-Clicking on it?

I am developing a game. But Who cares. So I have a jar for my game and would like to open it. When I double click on it, it shows a windows with white screen and immediately disappears. If I go to the terminal, and type java -jar myjar.jar , it opens up perfect without white screen. How do I fix this up?

And your question has what to do with the "troubleshooting of Intel iMac operational problems", which is what this Forum is for?
Hope this helps

You can associate files from the Bridge level and the Desktop level.
In Bridge CS4, go to Preferences > File Type Associations and change it to Photoshop CS4 for the file types you want.
If you want to open files from the Windows Desktop in CS4, these are the instructions:
Do this from the Windows Desktop:
If you want your image file to open in Photoshop and it doesn't, right click on it and choose
Open with > Choose default program… select Photoshop CS4 or CS6 and checkmark "always use the selected program to open this type of file".

Just drag the divider line between the preview pane and the message list all the way to the edge so the preview is completely closed. Selected messages will open in a new window with a double-click or the return key.

When I try to open an image by double clicking on it in Bridge, I get a message telling me to log in to Creative Cloud.  I am running CS6, and the default should be to open files in Photoshop 6 or in Adobe Raw (if it's a Raw file).  I don't want to log into CC since I am not a subscriber, and this means that I have to work around, and go  back to Bridge, and tell it to open the file in Adobe RAW.  However, this does not work for older psd files which for some reason cannot be opened in RAW.  How do I return to the process of simply allowing RAW files to open automatically in Adobe RAW, and simply right clicking on the image in Bridge to bring up the option of opening it in Photoshop?

  • I have messed up the settings on my Mighty Mouse and don't know where they should be.  I cannot open a document by double-clicking anymore.  I don't know what setting adjusts that.

I need help with my Mighty Mouse settings.  Don't understand the settings.  I can no longer open a document by double-clicking.  I think I changed my setting someway when I was trying to correct or find my up and down scrolling.   Please help.

I think you need to un-pair your mouse.   Leave it a few minutes than re-pair it as if you were starting from scratch and using the following details.   Item 1 will probably meet your needs.

  • Opening a file WITHOUT double-clicking

In Windows one can open a file from Explorer either by double-clicking or by hitting the Return/Enter key.
In Mac OS X I can only open a file by double-clicking it. So far, using the keyboard I can only rename it (when I hit Return), or delete it (if I press Command+Return).
Is there a keyboard shortcut for opening a file? I am a keyboard person and, sometimes, when I navigate from one folder to another, I would like to open the file without moving my hand to get the mouse.

It's Command-o, for open, of course. As you discovered, pressing Return is the handy short-cut to high-light the file for renaming.

  • When I open last import and double click on a photo, a caution sign pops up. Any solutions?

When I open last import and double click on a photo, a caution sign pops up. Any solutions?

The ! turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

But if my exe is runing already, I double click the file, I could not get the latest command line information.
When the exe is running, How doule click the file to send some sort of info the this exe so the exe could open a new one.
How to do this in LabIVEW?

  • How can i change the tab bar from opening a new tab when single clicked to open one only when double clicked?

Out of habbit, i double click the tab bar and it opens 1 tab. however in the new beta, it opens 2.
Is there anyway to change this so single clicks dont open new tabs on the tab bar?

I don't have multiple tab bars and haven't installed anything to try and get them.
I re-read what I wrote earlier and realised it's not worded clearly when I said: If I have more than a single tab bar of tabs open
I meant: When I have so many tabs open that they won't all fit into the tab bar at once

I recently updated my tower and OS, on my previous machine, I could double-click on any tiff, psd or eps and it would open in Photoshop as a default program, now when I double-click these files, they open in Preveiw. Is there a way I can set a preference so this type of file will alway open in Photoshop.
    Thanks

Change the default application for that file type in the Open With section of a file's Get Info window.
