  • How can I open a PDF file from a swf?

    Hi all,
I created presentation using Flash cs5, and I want to make a link that opens an external PDF file. I have done this with past version of Flash, but how can I do it using cs5?
    Many thanks in advance,
    HDsuperglide

Sorry, just linking like before doesn't seem to work. When you select the link button all you get is a search browser looking for the pdf file you are trying to open.
This is what I was told to use.
    on (release)
    GetURL("name of pdf.pdf","_blank") ;
    Does not work on CS5
    Anyone have a real thoughts.

  • How do I get Adobe Acorbat to open a .pdf file from a sharepoint library without having to checkout the file

I have a customer that is using Adobe Acrobat pro version 10.1. When they try and open a .pdf file from a SharePoint site, the user is prompted to check out and open the file or open the file. Is there a way to get Adobe Acrobat to open the .pdf file without prompting to check out or open?
    Thanks
    Jim

This is mostly a lion thing, rather than a PSE thing. To disable applications opening where they left off last time for all the programs on your computer, go to system preferences>general and untick this box:
You can also do on a per-program basis, but it's more complicated and the best thing to do is to search around for directions on the web and see which way is least uncomfortable for you.
There's an odd little glitch in PSE that it opens the last image you had open, even if you closed it before quitting last time. Adobe says this is correct behavior, but of course it isn't.

  • Unable to open large PDF file from the Attachment list.

    Hi Gurus,
Users had attached 10 PDF file in the work order attachment list and his supervisor is trying to open the PDF file from the work order attachment list and he is able to open 9 PDF files without any issue, but 1 PDF file is giving the error message as "Database error for <GET DATA FROM KPRO>" and then select ok, we are getting the below message.
Window cannot find u201CC/Documents and Settings/b2m/SaoworkDir/5015851 Vendor data sheets B&P 2010 SDown XXX .PDFu2019. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the start button, and then click serch.
Looks like this particular file is not transferring to the SAP work directory.
Could you please check and suggest us as to how to fix it.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Srivas

    Hi,
    Thanks for your reply.
We verified  your OSS notes it's not relevant to us Because our issue is while opening the PDF aatchement it is not transferring to my SAP Work Directory because of that reason we are getting the KPRO error. When I'm opening the other PDF files it's transferring to my SAP Work Directory and it's automatically open without any issue.
    Please check and suggest.
    Thanks,
    Srivas

  • Open Multiple PDF files from Production order/Routing

    Hi Everyone
We are in ECC 6.0 environment. We have a scenario where multiple documents were attached to single operation and also at multiple operations. But when I was trying to open these PDF documents, only the last file was getting opened and closing the previous file. How can I open multiple PDF files at one time from Production order or Routing?
    Any help is appreciated.
    Regards
    Prasad

    Hi Prasad,
from DMS standard I regret but such a functionality is not available. In the standard originals can be opened only one after another.
I think for realising this functionality an individual modificatoin is necessary.
    Best regards,
    Christoph

  • How do I open a .m4a file from Mail into Music app?

How do I open a .m4a file from Mail into Music app?
I mixed down a song from my band's latest session and saved it as a .m4a file (Apple AAC Audio format) and I e-mailed it to myself. Then on my phone I opened the e-mail message in Mail and held a long-press down on the attached .m4a file. But I do not see the option to open it up into the Music app. It only gives me the options of iMovie, WeChat, and USB Disk. Why would I want to open it up in those? It's a song. It should open up into the Music app so I can play it. What the heck?
Please don't tell me that I have to use iTunes to do this and sync my phone to my computer, because I *do not* want to add these songs to my iTunes library. They are *practice session tracks* that I want to listen to then delete later when we have new versions.
If there is no way to open them into the Music app, then is there a music player app I can get somewhere that will let me simply save audio files from Mail into it, and use it as a player for those songs? That's all I want to do.
The only reasonable workaround I have found so far is to save them as .mp4 audio files, which the iPhone thinks are movies, so it lets me save them into the camera roll as Videos.
Voice Memos would be acceptable as a place for them to be able to open into as well, but of course that's also not on the options list. Sigh.

Why is that such an issue for you?
Why do people insist on replying to threads without even reading the original post? I explained it there already!
I don't have to use iTunes to save an image from Mail into my camera roll, or to save a PDF from Mail into iBooks. Why should I have to use iTunes to save a music file into Music app?
But I'll repeat it since evidently you can't be asked to read the original posts before spamming a thread with questions that have already been answered. I *do not* want to add these songs to my iTunes library.
My iTunes library is a sacred temple into which I only allow to enter the very best and highest-fidelity musical recordings of all time. I refuse to sully and soil my iTunes library with crappy practice mixdowns from my band, etc.
Want to know why? Because I like to be able to hit "shuffle all" on my iTunes library and know that something that will improve my existence will emanate forth from this amazing device that I have invested thousands of dollars into (yes, I count my cell phone plan amongst the expenses).
I shall not have the crappy burner mixdown tracks from my band's practice sessions come up every five songs (we generate TONS of these... literally hundreds... and they are all high-bitrate .m4a tracks in the 10-15 MB range). I let iTunes keep my music folder organized on my computer. It makes copies of everything being placed into it, and I don't want 159 GB of copies of burner tracks hiding like roaches throughout my temple. We don't name these files anything sensible (in fact the guy who mixes them down intentionally gives them random weird names) and they lack metadata. So there's no easy way to delete them back out of iTunes once they're in there. It's a huge pain; I used to do it, but I swore it off years ago and *I'm never going back!*
The REAL question is, why does Apple force me to have to use iTunes—the most convoluted, kludgy piece of bloatware ever to issue forth from Cupertino—to do something as simple as adding an MP3 from Mail into the Music app on my phone? Why can't there be something simple—something equivalent to the Camera Roll inside the Music app, not only for the files I want to save from Mail, but also for my Garage Band exports, not to mention all the exports from all the various synthesizer, drum machine, and recording apps I use on a daily basis in iOS?
It would be awfully nice to be able to play the songs I've recorded right in the Music app without having to go through the rigamarole of adding those files to my iTunes library, tagging them with metadata, syncing, etc. etc. yadda yadda yadda—just to delete them again as soon as I've synced so they don't pollute my computer's iTunes library!
I bought Apple for ease of use, not so I would be forced to jump through a million hoops just do to something that ought to take one tap to accomplish!  That's ridiculous!

  • How do I open a PDF file with Adobe Reader if it is in iBooks

I have a number of PDF files in my iBooks library.  I just downloaded Adobe Reader for the iPad.  I can't see how I can open those PDF files.  The only thing I seem to be able to do with them is to open them from iBooks directly.  Doing that does not provide me with the features that Adobe Reader would provide (such as searching for particular text, etc.).

Use iTunes to save the PDF FROM iBooks, and to add them to Adobe Reader.
Connect your iPad to your computer. Bring up iTunes on your computer.
To save a PDF FROM iBooks, click on "Books" in the Library section on the left. Select the PDF you want to save and right-click and choose Show in Finder (Show in Explorer in Windows). Go up one level in your computer hierarchy and you'll see all the "Books" (PDFs and eBooks) in iBooks.  You can leave them here if you want to view the PDFs in iBooks in the future, or drag them to the Desktop.
To move the PDF TO Adobe Reader:
Return to iTunes. Click on the iPad on the left in Devices. Click on the Apps tab. Scroll down the the File Sharing section as shown below. Click on Adobe Reader. Click the Add button and select the PDFs you identified in the previous step. They'll be added to Adobe Reader

If you have iBooks on your iPad you have the option to save it to that. Just tap and hold on the document link and the options will pop up. Hit "open with ibooks" and it will save it in there for you. Thats one option

  • I cannot view PDF in Firefox at the first time but once I manually open the PDF file from my local computer, I can view other PDF files via Firefox webbrowser

I install Adobe Acrobat 9 in my laptop which runs on windows 7. I use Firefox 3.6.8 and have the problem with the PDF file. The problem is I cannot open the PDF file in Firefox web browser at the first time I launch firefox. It shows a warning box without any message. Only OK button is shown so I can close it. However, if I manage to open the PDF file from my local computer by just using adobe acrobat itself then the PDF can be opened in the Firefox web browser. I followed the instruction on the mozilla help but nothing works for me. The problem still exists. I wonder if anyone have the same problem like me and know how to solve this. Thank you so much

    Hi there!
I cannot help you, but I think we have a common problem: We got a system here running Vista SP1 with Acrobat 9 standard on it. When we open a pdf file it works normally, but when we open another pdf file, we see the first one in that second window.
Think that missing option to watch several files within a single window-thing messed up more than meets the eye ... but as we just purchased the 15 licenses, we have to use version 9.
I didn't find any clues on this problem, but I will post any new hints I get.

  • Can't open web pdf files from my Reader DC because my IMac wants a completed license agreement to use Reader and I never saw that page during installation.

Can't open web pdf files from my newly installed Reader DC because my IMac wants a completed license to use agreement to Reader, and I never saw that page during installation.  How do I get past this?

You need to accept the EULA on first launch of the Reader DC application.
Go to the Applications folder and launch Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.
This will bring up the EULA.
Select the "Agree" button if you agree with the terms
Assuming you selected the "Agree" button, Reader DC should open.
You should now be able to open PDF files in your web browser.

  • Open the pdf file from forms6i

    Hi,
how to open the pdf file from forms6i.
can anyone help me regarding this.
    Thanks,
    Ansaf.

    Hi,
The HOST built-in does not return any error or message back to the Form.
You will have to use some other means to first find out whether the file exists or not. E.g. you could use TEXT_IO.FOPEN to open the file in Read mode. If the files is not found the handle returned will be null, and that will be condition you have to process to show a message or pop an alert.
Make sure you close the file with FCLOSE, irrespective of whether the file is found or not, before you open the File for viewing.

  • Opening jpg/pdf files from Java

    Hi,
How can I open jpg/pdf files or any file in general from Java, such that they open up in the default program in Windows?
I dont want to read in the files using Java. Just open them in their default program. Eg. PDF should open in Adobe.
    thanks,
    parsifal

Thanks both of you for answering.
You don't need to make a map. You need the "cmd /c
start" command in Windows. This is what I was missing. I looked up DOS commands to open a files in window but couldnt get it. So I thought java would have some command that equals double-clicking icons on window.
    Thanks.

  • How to upload words, exel, PDF file from the pc via itune to the iPad, and where will the uploaded file be saved? In the apps?

How to upload words, exel, PDF file from the pc via itune to the iPad, and where will the uploaded file be saved? In the apps?

You will need an app (or apps) on your iPad that is capable of reading the documents, as they will be saved with the app - if you don't have such an app then there is nothing to transfer them to or to read/access them.
One method of transferring them is toconnect your iPad to your computer's iTunes, select it's app tab, and then scroll to the bottom of it - you should the apps That you've got that are capable of file-sharing (if you've got any).  Selecting/high-lighting one of them should then allow you to add files to it via the box to the right of it.
An alternative way to get the documents onto your iPad is if the app that you want to transfer them to has a wifi setting, which will then allow you to transfer the documents wirelessly. You can also send the documents to yourself as attachments and then use Mail's 'open in' facility to copy them into your chosen app.
Edit : more info on file sharing from the manual :
File Sharing lets you transfer files between iPad and your computer. You can share files created with a compatible app and saved in a supported format.
Apps that support file sharing appear in the File Sharing Apps list in iTunes. For each app, the Files list shows the documents that are on iPad. See the app’s documentation for how it shares files; not all apps support this feature.
    Connect iPad to your computer.
In iTunes, select iPad in the Devices list, then click Apps at the top of the screen.
In the File Sharing section, select an app from the list on the left.
On the right, select the file you want to transfer, then click “Save to” and choose a destination on your computer.
Transfer a file from your computer to iPad:
    Connect iPad to your computer.
In iTunes, select iPad in the Devices list, then click Apps at the top of the screen.
In the File Sharing section, click Add.
Select a file, then click Choose (Mac) or OK (PC).
The file is transferred to your device and can be opened using an app that supports that file type. To transfer more than one file, select each additional file.
Delete a file from iPad: Select the file in the Files list, then tap Delete.

  • How can I make a PDF file from each folders with layers, where each page is a each folder?

How can I make a PDF file from each folders with layers, where each page is a each folder?

I found an answer to my own question. A work around of sorts.
Download Photoshop Elements 6 for Macintosh. With PSE6 I made a slide show with 550 images 1920x1200, without thumbs. I ran into one problem making the slide show. My images contained 4 images which had not ben created by Photoshop and could not be included in the slide show. Opening the images in Photoshop CS4 and re-saving them still did not make then acceptable. Not a big deal. I probably could have fixed the four images by stripping all EXIF data before opening them in Photoshop. BTW, PSE6 made the slide show in demo mode.
I hope the bug in Photoshop CS4 will be fixed in Photoshop CS5.

You can prevent it from being printed by applying a security policy to it
in Acrobat. The rest can't be prevented, unless you spend  a LOT of money
    on DRM protection.
