How do I open a previously created slide show in PSE7?

I created and edited a slide show in PSE7 and closed the slide show editor. I now have an image in the organizer which has a slide show icon in the upper right hand corner. When I click or double click on it, nothing happens and PSE7 stops operating. I must use windows task manager to close PSE7. If I try the create tab with the slide show icon highlighted and then click on slide show editor, PSE7 locks up. How do I open the slide show I created?

Thanks. Actually, I tried rebooting and it worked. Now I just double click the slide show image or right click and click Edit and the slide show editor opens.

If you plan on collaborating with other users who have progressed with the technology you are gong to have to upgrade. There is simply no way any longer to continue with XP and CS2 except in isolation.

How can I open a document created in Classic on MacOS X?  When I tried to open it, it says Classic Not Supported. What do I do?

    The short answer is:
Single click on the document you created in Classic, bring up your 'popup' menu (right click or control-click), select 'Open With' and choose the Mac OS X application you believe will open the document.
If this does not work. Tell us which Classic application you created the document with and which applications you have which you believe will open your 'classic' document.

How do I move Elements 8 projects (slide shows) from a Windows XP computer to new Windows 7 computer that also has Elements 8 on it so that the slides shows will work (Elements 8 works well on the Windows 7 computer & I have done several new slide show projects on it)?    I tried backup & restore without success.  I have also found the .psess files and copied them to the catalog in the new computer but when the sides shows are opened none of the images or music is there.  Only the text that I entered shows.  I have even tried to replicate the file paths from the XP computer to the new computer to see if that will help.

UPDATE:  By a stroke of luck I happened to find a catalog link (a PSE8D file) in the 'My Catalog' file where the imported data was stored.  When I clicked on it to investigate what is was 'magically' all of my transferred projects appeared in Organizer.  Upon further investigation I found that the projects transferred from my XP computer were stored in a hidden catalog that had to be accessed through the Custom Location option in Catalog Manager (accessed by clicking File then Catalog then Custom Location).  No Windows or Elements search revealed this fact.  I am appreciative that I just got lucky.  The Adode/Photoshop company was absolutely of no help.  If fact to me their structure is designed to avoid contact with their customers unless you're buying a new product.  Their products have many good features (even though user unfriendly) and it's a shame they don't value their customers more once the sale is completed.
Bottom line:  All of the projects (sideshows) have been recovered and work in my new Windows 7 computer.  I hope my experience helps others.

  • Where is "Create Slide Show"

PSE 5 has a file menu item "Create--Slide Show" and "Open Creation."  Where is this in PSE 11?

There is no Open Creation, because creations open in different places depending on the save format and type of creation. You just open the files and they go where adobe wants you to work on them.
Slide show is in the organizer only, and then only in the windows organizer, not on a mac at all.

  • Scanning 35mm slides to create slide show

My objective is to scan 35mm slides and create a presentable slide show for viewing on a computer monitor and TV. (regular TV)
I am using an Epson 4490 Perfection scanner and Photoshop Elements 2 software.
This should be relatively easy, but I'm running into difficulty and can find nothing in the "help" section of the software that answers my question.
How would you set the scanning options to obtain a good quality scan, without the software automatically cropping the slide, and being of good quality when viewed on the monitor/TV?
After completing the scans, I'll need to create the slide shows and save them to disc. Any suggestions or information you could offer in these areas would also be helpful:
    - Tutorials for creating slide shows, included in the Elements 2 program or elsewhere.
    - What would be the best quality disc to save these to?
Thanks so much for the help

    Lauraly.....
I haven't actually done what you intend but here's some things to consider.
Your 35mm slides have an aspect ratio of 3:2 ( 36mm x 24mm). Normal TVs and many Monitors have and aspect ratio of 4:3. Some widescreens TVs are 16:9. This means you wont get a 35mm slide to fit exactly. Either it will be 'letterbox' sshape on your screen or if you size to fit then something will be cropped off.
As for scanning you should consider what resolution you need for the end display. If your display has for example a width of 1280 pixels then you should aim to scan the slide to achieve the same number of pixels - which works out to be approx 355 pixels/cm or 900 pixels/inch. For a TV you could probably get away with less.
If your scanning the slides you may want to go flat out so that the images could also be printed out sometime in the future in which case you may want to scan at something like 3200 or 6400 pixels/inch.
Once you've scanned the images you'll need a program to make the slide show. Photoshop Elements 5 can do this but in my opinion Proshow Gold is a better program. Don't make a Video CD (VCD) - the quality of the playback is poor. Go for high quality DVD
Elements can't actually burn the DVD - you need another program for that. Proshow will do everything and more.
You can download a free program from Microsoft called Photostory 3. It will allow you to make the slide show for playback on your PC - including music - but to make a DVD you need another program. If you have a DVD burner the s/w for that may be suitable.
    Hope this helps.

  • Creating Slide Show problems in Elements 10

I have Photoshop elements 10. I started to create a slide show: so selected the photos, then the show preferences from the dialogue box but when I clicked OK the Slide Show editor dialogue box did NOT appear and everything froze.  the only way out was to close the whole program. Please can you help?

If you are running Windows system then this article will help you to get started:
<Creating slide shows (Windows only) | Elements 12>
Although it is for PSE12, the steps are almost identical in PSE10.
    Good luck.

  • Premiere Elements 7 crashes on creating slide show

    Hi Gurus,
I use Premiere Elements 7 for about 2 years and it works fine when I need to create a film from set of video fragments.
But I also need to create slide shows from pictires.
For some reason PRE7 crashs on building such slide show (at least, this is valid for a long enough slide show). It happens not always on the same slide, but approximately at the same percentage of the slide show to be built.
    I run PRE7 on Windows XP, SP3 32-bit
What may be a reason of this crash? Conflict with some other software, installed on my computer? Lacking resources (I have 4 GBytes of memory, but Win 32-bit uses only 3.25 GBytes)? Known bug?
I tried to install the trial version of PRE9, but the result was even worse: it crashed even more quickly than PRE7. i.e. less slides were processed before the crash.
Any suggestion that can help to solve this issue will be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Ilia

If you can handle smaller numbers of large images, but not larger numbers, it is likely a resource issue. It could be RAM, Virtual Memory, or similar.
This ARTICLE might be helpful for setting up your computer for an editing session, and freeing as many resources, as is possible. This ARTICLE discusses Virtual Memory.
PrE 9 will have about the same resource requirements, or might use a bit more, so a large number of large still images will remain a problem.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • PE4 Error in trying to create slide show

When I try to create a slide show in PE4, I cannot add any photos to slide editor. I get 'slide show command failed. Unable to add photos from organizer'. There are pictures in the organizer. I have tried adding pictures from both the organizer and file folder and I still cannot create a slide show. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

I tried as you suggested and that didn't work. When I am in organizer and select photos, then click on create, slide show, ok, the following message apears. 'Error code C0000005, Address 847606' and then element closes. If when starting elements and I choose create and then slide show and the editor comes up. I click on add media from either organizer or folders and select pictures I get 'Slide show command failed. Unable to add photos from organizer.'
I am using windows xp home and a vaio laptop. Anyone have any other ideas? TIA

  • Best Adobe Product for Creating Slide Show

I'm trying to find out what is the best Adobe product to use to create slide shows? I have Photoshop CS2 and just got Premiere Pro (which I haven't used before).

Many options, it depends on what you want to do.
Premiere Pro can easily make a video that displays a series of images in turn, with optional transitions between them, but the viewer can't navigate around as they could with a PowerPoint file.
Later versions of Photoshop can also assemble still photos into a video sequence.
If you want to display the slideshow on a website, you're looking at an HTML/JavaScript solution.
Finally you can combine your slides into a PDF file and set it to full-screen mode with automatic timings.

  • Creating slide shows in flash

I am trying to teach myself to create slide shows in Flash.  I have Flash CS4 Professional.  I found a tutorial to do this for CS3, Action Script 2.0, here:
    http://previews.learnflash.com/previews/flash/basicslideshow.html
It seems like a great tutorial.  However, as I am following it, I can't make my slide show work as the tutorial demonstrates.  Specificall, after creating the buttons as shown, my slide show will not stop at the next frame, but rapidly runs through all the slides.
I have worked with the tutorial for several days and can not get it to work for me. I get the below error messages when I follow the turorial.
This is what the tutorial says to do, and as best as I can tell, I am doing just that:
This is what part of my screen looks like:
I would greatly appreciate any pointers, perhaps to a more current tutorial.
    Many thanks!
    christian

The first image you show is probably the most telling, especially if the second image you show is taken from the tutorial and is not a screenshot of what you've done.  Based on the error messages, you are using parentheses where you should be using curly braces.
    next_btn.onRelease = function(){
         nextFrame();
Also, just for the sake of it, check your Flash Publish Settings and make sure you have AS2 selected for the Actionscript version.

  • I am using using IDVD to create slide shows.  When viewed on my computer the pictures are clear and of high quality.  When I burn the slide show to a disk and play it back, the pictures are blurry and of poor quality.

I am using IDVD to create slide shows.  When viewed on my computer, the pictures are clear and of high quality.  When I burn the slide show to a disk and play it back, the pictures are blury and of poor quality.  Is there a setting that controls the quality of the burn and if there is, where do I find it?  Thank you.

The Mac software - iPhoto, iMovie, and iDVD are not the best with the Ken Burns effect (zoom in/out effect), so you might want to minimize that effect; also, if your subjects are wearing stripes for instance, that will have an effect if you zoom. There is better software available for slideshows; however, I do not know of any that is free (and does a good job). I've used Photo to Movie for some time; it does a fine job even in HD, but you have to pay for it. I use iDVD extensively, but only to add a menu, theme, special effects, etc. and then to burn it.
