How do I open my fonts in photoshop CC?

How do I open my fonts in photoshop CC?

Fonts are handled at the system level and need to be installed in the respective locations/ using the respective utilities - Fontbook on mac, the Fonts system control panel on Windows. if you have specific question, you need to make an effort to actually explain them.

You can't directly but can use DNG Converter to convert your files so ACR can read and process them.

  • How do i open CR2 files with photoshop cs5?

Adobe camera raw will not open CR2 files in photoshop. How do i open these files? i have tried updating camera raw witht he last 8 updates but it still will not open. Camera raw shows a pop up box saying the file is not supported.

I believe the proglem is with in Adobe CS5 and something just isnt working correctly and that maybe why it cant read or do anything with RAW files. I also noticed that Adobe's site says that it supports canon 70D CS2 files. my camera files are CR2, im not sure if maybe that might have something to do with my issue.
Nothing to do with anything being faulty in CS5.
The reason has already been given by tpolakov above: The 70D was first supported in Camera Raw 8.2 which is only compatible with CS6 and later. CS5 is not compatible with Camera Raw 8.2 so CS5 cannot read Raw files from the 70D. That's all there is to it.

Thanks Tomsm13, I actually tried to convert the files to DNG but that doesnt work either. I used the latest compatable Adobe DNG converter and i get a message that it can not find any camera RAW files to convert.
You select a folder containing CR2 files, not a CR2 file.

  • How to exactly replicate webpage fonts in Photoshop? Can it be done?

Hi all, I've just come across something in photoshop that I must have never have picked up on before.
I am trying to simply replicate a peice of text in photoshop so that it is pixel by pixel exactly the same as what I would see in a webbrowser with some text from a css/html based webpage.
I used to think creating the text in the same font size and turning the antialiasing method to none reproduced the same text by to my amazement there is
    a slight difference.
As you can see in the text below the text displayed in the css/html webpage does not look as pixelly as the photoshop version.
The grey box is from the actual webpage itself, the text next to Webpage text is screen grabbed from a basic css/html webpage, the Photoshop text what created with the type tool (anti aliasing none)
Just wondering if anyone can explain what is going on here and is there a way to exactly replicate web fonts in photoshop?
    Any help would be great

I am trying to simply replicate a peice of text in photoshop so that it is pixel by pixel exactly the same as what I would see in a webbrowser with some text from a css/html based webpage.
Sorry, you can't (without copying text from a browser).
Part of the problem is that every browser renders text differently.
And part of it is that many browsers currently render with an anti-aliasing style that Photoshop doesn't support (color edges).
Then there's the lack of kerning in browsers and ....
We've been thinking about how to replicate browser font rendering, but it's not nearly as easy as it sounds.

  • How do I open Iphone photos in Photoshop

How do I open photos that I take with my Iphone in Photoshop.  Photos from my camera go directly into folders on my Imac hard drive and I can open them from there, and I'd like to be able to do the same with pictures taken with my Iphone.  I also have Lightroom 5, which I am learning how to use.
Thanks to anyone who can help.  Morrie R

I don't own an iPhone, but on my iPad 3 you can access the folder hierarchy from Windows Explorer.  But the problem with images and videos, whether taken with the iPad, or as is more usual in my case, uploaded from an SD card, they are spread over a large number of arbitrarily named folders.  (I guess IOS is not designed to be user friendly when accessing at this level)
So I simply use the Windows 7 search facility to find all .JPG, .CR2 and .MOV files, and drag them into a Windows folder on my PC.  Works fine and provides me with additional archiving space for when I am away from home.  The SD card reader works amazingly well with IOS

  • How Do You Open a Font Suitcase Now?

I'm using Lion 10.7.5 on a 21" iMac. Does anyone know how to open a font suitcase these days? I have a bunch of old suitcases that I need to clean up but I haven't been able to open them since OS 9.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Lloyd

I guess my real gripe is that why? would Apple remove a feature from the OS that was there for more than 15 years...
A very good question. There are a lot of pre OS X features that have slowly worked their way back in, such as spring loaded folders. But why this feature still hasn't reappeared this far into OS X's development is puzzling and frustrating.
I'd never heard of Font Smasher before, so looked it up and downloaded the demo. Being from the same folks who produce Font Agent Pro, it's probably pretty nice software. Rather pricey though at $49 for a single usage application. Especially for someone in your position who would have to purchase more than a few copies in order to spread them around the shop. I'll stick with using Font Doctor for now since I already have it.
But yes, it drives me a bit nuts that we still can't do this as easily as we could in OS 7 - 9. A copyright issue Apple had to conform to? Not very plausible since we could do this up until OS X. About all you can do is give Apple feedback and ask that we get this function back. I'm sure you know as well as I some of the mishmashed suitcases clients send that need to be cleaned up in order to use them.
The need to do able to get into font suitcases will be around for a long time, so it's not a minor thing.

  • How do I open a photograph in Photoshop Elements after downloading the new OS Photos ?

How do I open a photograph in a photo editing software (photshop Elements) after updating my OS to Photos ?

Thank you Terence.  I did try that and found it do-able, however, it's too time consuming.  The easier fix was to remove 'Photos' from the task bar, go to finder and repin iPhoto and use it.  I am rather amazed that Apple decided to configure this program,  in such a way.   No plugins, no right click to edit in another program??    I guess I fail to see the big picture or big PHOTOS ?

  • How can I open a picture in Photoshop from Photos?

I migrated my pictures from IPhoto to Photos. Why can't I open them in Photoshop? Please help. Can I just go back to using IPhoto?

Nope, It said "A newer version of this software is already installed." so I won't let me go back. Also, after exporting editing and importing back there is still no easy way to open a photo in photoshop. I have to drag them from stupid photos to my desktop and then open them from there. I have 300 photos to edit and put a watermark on. There HAS to be an easier way!

  • How do I open my photo in Photoshop?

Opening an image in Photoshop is easy. Choose File > Open and navigate to where you've placed an image, such as a JPG you shot with a digital camera and downloaded to your computer. Photoshop can open a variety of file types – even PDFs. You can also start with a blank canvas by going to File > New.
Below are a couple of videos and a reference link to introduce you to these basics.
OPENING IMAGES - VIDEO 02:44 min.
CREATE A NEW DOCUMENT - VIDEO 01:44 min.
CREATING, OPENING, AND IMPORTING IMAGES - Reference Guide

Hi Karen! Thanks for the easy to follow tutorial! Are you going to be making any others? I was wondering if you would make something on Importing video, and what formats are accepted. Since this is new to me, I'm starting to fill in the gaps with videos like yours. It seems that most videos created already assume we have a certain level of computer literacy, and skip the details, but that's not always the case, so thank you!
    Cheers!

  • How to install third party fonts into Photoshop CS6 cloud?

Hi, in need of assistance.  My previous version of PhotoShop was CS5, and I have my photography logos created using the font "chisel thin".  Now that I have a new macbook pro laptop and am also now using the cloud version of PhotoShop CS6, when I open my saved logos on the cloud, it does not recognize the font "chisel thin"?  So, is there a way to download the "chisel thin" font so it is available for me to use on the cloud?  If so, how do I go about doing it?  I'm not super tech savy, so clear, exact detailed instructions on how to download / update the "chisel thin" font would be very much appreciated!
    Thanks for your help,
    Mike (McDermott Photography)

    Thank you Jeff.
    Welcome to the forum McDermottPhotography,
You will need to download and install the ttf (true type font again) on your new machine. I am not sure if the following is the font that you are referring to, but here is one named similiarly http://www.fontpalace.com/font-details/Chisel+Thin+Normal/.

  • How can I view Illustrator fonts in Photoshop?

My client is sending me web page designs in .ai format. I have tried opening them in Photoshop CC using various techniques (straight open, open as smart object, etc.) but I am unable to ungroup and inspect individual elements. I mainly need font specs (font type, size, etc.).
I have been able to open and ungroup objects in Inkscape, but am still not getting any specific font info (everything reports to be Serif 15)
Do I need to do something special on my end, or do I need to give my client instructions on how to give me a file in a different format?
And, of course, big deadline looming tomorrow *sigh*

Well, perhaps your client has Acrobat and can do a preflight for you.
If that is not the case there are some rudimentary ways even in Illustrator (Document Info panel menu > Fonts) which can be saved to a .txt file.
    Ask your client.

  • How can I open multiple files as Photoshop Raw files at the same time for Photoshop CS6 extended on a PC?

I am trying to open 20-25 files at the same time as Photoshop Raw [*.RAW] files.
The only way I can open multiple files is if i leave the file type as All Formats. When I change it to  Photoshop Raw [*.RAW], the files a deselected.

Use bridge. Select all the files then press ctrl-r or cmd-r to load the selected files into camera raw.
If you try this in Photoshop use File>Open As then for file type choose camera raw. (I have not tested open as for opening multiple files)

  • How do I open RAW images in Photoshop?

I just purchased a Canon G9 camera with RAW image capability.  When I try to open a RAW file in Photoshop (version 8.0) I get an error message: "Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document"
Any help will be greatly apprectiated!

Well, you have the old Photoshop CS (8.0), which supports only ACR 2.4.  (ACR = Adobe Camera Raw.)
Your camera generates raw files that require ACR 4.3 to open directly in Photoshop.  Therefore, you will never be ablo to open the raw files from that camera directly in Photoshop CS (8.0).
    You have two choices:
    • You can download the free, stand-alone DNG Converter 5.3 and run it to convert your raw files to raw DNG files first, which you can then open in ACR 2.4 hosted by Photoshop CS.
    • You can upgrade to CS4 and open your files directly in ACR 5.3 hosted by Photoshop CS4.
