How do I open or import my mp4 video formats into Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 without a blur?

I use a Sanyo Xacti Vpc-cg10, and it imports mp4 files, but I can't seem to find out to import and use my videos to edit. I've tried finding a preset to use with the format but they all have a blur to them. Please Help!

Have you tried dragging your footage to the NEW ITEM button to have CS5 create a sequence that matches your footage ?

  • Importing video files into Adobe Premiere Pro CS3

I own a Sony Handycam DCR-SX63.  When I import the movies I have taken onto my PC (Vista) they are .MPG files.  When I import these files into Premiere Pro CS3 the video portion imports but the audio of that file does not.  I have read all I can find and nothing seems to answer my question directly.  I tried an encoder to see if maybe Premiere doesn't accept .MPG files.  I converted it to .AVI file and tried to import and that gave me audio with no video.  I tried opening the new project with a dozen different settings offered up by Premiere but every one I tried gave me the same outcome when I tried to import my video file.
Please. please. please help.  I am pulling my hair out.
    I appreciate any help given.
    Thanks

I have used a MacMini to download the 4K content (only short clips were willing to download sofar), and then transferred to a PC I was able to get it to play in RED schemes in Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.
I am just not sure if this is the right way of doing it.

What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer operating system is it running?
With that information we can give you the specifics of the how to. There are marked changes in the Premiere Elements 11 and 12 workspaces as compared to version of Premiere Elements earlier than 11.
    Also, what do mean by

How to download Adobe Premiere pro CS5 for windows to my new imac 27 inch

IMHO Windows would be the place to start.
Why do you want to load CS5 for Windows?
Adobe does produce a version of CS5 that runs on OS X so that it would not be necessary for you to have to screw around with Windows. Personally that would be the way to go and avoid the hassles of Windows.

  • Can I import I-life files into Adobe Premiere Pro CS4?

Okay, so not exactly an Apple question, but there are so many smart, helpful people on here, and the Adobe forum doesn' t seem very active.
I recently got Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 (the movie editing software).  I tried to import files from I-photo, but those folders wouldn't even open.  Tried to import files from the movie folder, which were in .mpg format, but got a message that it is an incompatible format.
Those were just simple movie files taken with a small digital camera.  Does anyone know how I could use this footage in Adobe Pro?  I have access to other Adobe software as well, perhaps there is a way to convert the files?  If I try to import something to Adobe from I-movie, should that work?  Or from I-DVD?  Also, is it possible, with Adobe or regular Mac software, to import regular DVD footage (that is not in form of a computer file, but just something that plays in your DVD player) or perhaps convert it into a computer file?  I have some old VHS footage that was copied onto a DVD and would like to edit it, or at least have it on my computer as a file.
Also, if I can't use those files, are there any places on the internet where one can download some simple footage to try out in Adobe?  I'm new to it, so I'm just trying to get some files together so I can try out how it works.
Lastly, if anyone knows of a good online tutorual for CS4.  It's an older version, and on the Adobe site they only have tutorials for the newer one.
    Thanks!

This is a forum. None of the users here -at least not to my knowledge - are Adobe professional
Ninety-nine point nine percent correct. We are blessed with a few Adobe employees here, unlike some fora, but those folk are probably at NAB right now. Also, they are in other departments, so would have to walk "down the hall," or make a call, just as we would.
When it gets to issues on licensing, installation, etc., we're pretty much at a loss. Most of us have never encountered such issues, and only know what we have read in others' threads, when they have bothered to report back. Even then, that is third-hand info.
Last time that I had an Adobe installation issue was AI 3, IIRC. My upgrade version did not have the old database of S/N's. Mine was 00-000-003, and things had changed drastically. One call to Adobe, and a total time of about 5 mins. (including hold time), and I was given a number to plug in, and then everything installed perfectly. That was in about 1989, so is not quite contemporary. Still, that is the last and only first-person account that I can offer. Most here have zero personal experiences, as they came to the party later, and have just not had any such issues.
We'd love to help, but just do not have the experience.
    Good luck,

  • Export multichannel mp4/h.264 with Adobe Premiere Pro CC

    Dear community,
we currently test the Adobe Premiere Pro CC trial (German) on a Windows 7 Professional PC.
However, we are not succentful in exporting a multichannel mp4/H.264 clip.
We haven't found an answer on our issue so far, so I hope that this question was not answered several times before in this forum.
If we chosse the H.264 exporter, we cannot select a multichannel audio export (only mono, stereo, 5.1).
In contrary, if we select the Quicktime exporter, we are able to export our sequence with a 4 channel audio master with 4 mono tracks, but we can only export it with a DVCPro Codec in a mov container.
If we try to select a HD H.264 preset we get an error alert stating that the preset contains a not compatible video codec.
    What are we doing wrong?
    Thanks for every suggestion.
    Thanks in advance
    André

    Thanks for your thoughts, Richard.
Your are right, we currentky use the Adobe Premiere Creative Cloud version.
We managed it to solve at least the error message. It was caused because Quicktime was not installed together with the Adobe Premiere Pro / AME setup on our computer.
After we installed Quicktime 7 manually, we can select a Quicktime/H.264 preset without any problems within the exporter settings.
However, the Quicktime/H.264 export dialog seems to only allow a mono or stereo audio export. No multichannel-audio export.
This possibility is only displayed in Richards case, if we select the Quicktime exporter and an Uncompressed Video or DV preset.
Our question to the Adobe developer guys is the reason behind this limition? Other video authoring prograns can export a mp4 with H.264 Codec with multichannel AAC without any problems.
How can we do this with Adobe Premiere Pro (not necessarily via Quicktime)?

  • How can I capture video on a dvd disc in Adobe Premiere Pro Cs5?

Hi! I'm an amateur, I'm trying to restore a video on a vhs tape into Premiere Pro Cs5.  I have Pinnacle Studio Pro 14 software, Moviebox Plus USB hardware ,Sony dvd player, and a Panasonic vcr player.  I captured the vhs video to Pinnacle Studio Pro 14 and burned it on a dvd.  I connected the Moviebox Plus to my computer via usb, and connected the input and output to my Sony dvd player.  I opened Premiere Pro Cs5 and went to file and clicked on capture.  I push play on the dvd player and nothing happened in the capture window.   I noticed at the top of the capture window were some info.  The info stated, "Capture device is offline".   I went into Premiere Pro Cs5 to Edit and Preferences.  I changed the Device Brand to Sony and the Device Type to Standard.   So far, nothing has been captured.   I would like to know how can I fix this problem.  I know this is a lot of information, but that's the only way to state my setup and what was done.   Thanks.
    Gerald Sr.

The easy way is with the DVD in your PC's optic drive use Explorer to navigate into the Video_ts folder and there you will find the VOB file
If you cannot see the file extension highlight the folder and right click, select properties and from the Tools menu select folder options then in View uncheck Hide extensions for known file types.
Then you will see the .VOB file extensions.
Copy the large VOB onto your hard drive then click on it and select re-name.
Rename the .VOB to .mpg and use this file.
There is some free software VOB2MPG which does the same job but far easier.
As for learning PP go to the Creative Cow website and search there for video tutorials, there are plenty from absolute novice to full on expert.

  • Importing AVIs into Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 !!!

Heres what Im trying to do: We have been working on a PC Leitch Velocity Q NLE system for the past couple years and just got 2 new Matrox Axio LE NLEs with Adobe Premiere Pro CS3. We are trying to get all our old projects from the Velocity system onto our Matrox systems and not sacrifice any of the video quality. I've been thinking that the best way to do this is by compressing old projects to AVI format from the Velocity system and move them over to the Matrox using an external hard drive.
I was actually able to bring in an AVI from the Velocity system onto the Matrox yesterday using the same Velocity settings below, except that I changed the aspect to 720 x 480 and the audio sample rate to 48,000. When playing the video on the timeline in Premiere the video looked great on my computer monitor but on my external NTSC monitor all motion in the video looked a little jerky as if frames are missing. I tried importing the test clip into both Matrox uncompressed 8-bit and uncompressed 10-bit projects and had the same resulting jerky looking video. Even after rendering the clip the video looked the same. Then I tried exporting the clip to mpeg using the Matrox media encoder but saw no change in the jerky movement. Here are my project and export setting for both systems.
    The AVI was made on a PC Leitch Velocity Q NLE system. My project settings on the Velocity system are;
    29.97 drop frame
    720 x 486 24 Bit
    Interlaced field order B
    Sub pixel off Cropping off
    Audio:
    16 sample
    44 / samples / second
    2 channel
Export settings are; (These are the settings I was trying the first time that didnt work. All I changed the second time was the aspect ratio to 720 x 480 and the audio sampling rate to 48.)
    AVI
    Frame rate 29.97
    720 x 486
    No Compression
    Color 24 Bits
Field handling interlaced field order B
    Audio:
    16 sample
    Sampling rate 44
    2 channels stereo
Do you recommend compressing the video coming out of Velocity?
There are a couple other options other than No Compression in the export dialogue such as: Microsoft H.263 video codec, Microsoft H.261 video codec. I definitely want to maintain the highest quality possible.
    Matrox Axio LE project settings
    Editing mode: Matrox NTSC
    Timebase: 29.97 fps
    Video
    Frame Size: 720 x 486
Pixel Aspect Ratio: D1 / DV NTSC (0.9)
    Fields: Lower field first
Display: Format 30fps Drop Frame Timecode
    Audio: Sample 48,000 Hz
    Display: Audio sample
Video Rendering: Maximum bit depth is Unchecked
Previews: File format Matrox uncompressed 8-bit NTSC (tried Matrox uncompressed 10-bit too.)
I think the jerky video might be due to dropping frames but Im not sure.
    Any help is greatly appreciated!

While it seems that the field order is consistent, I have seen issues where converting from clips that change field order creates this sort of problem. This is particularly obvious when converting from MJPEG codecs like Meridien or Miro/Pinnacle to DV.
What happens if you just import the files into Premiere and let it do the rendering to the project settings?

  • Can I export an .mp4 file created by Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 to tape using alternative software?

I am editng with Premiere Pro CS4 on a Windows XP system.  I attempt to disable all startup and background software .  When i export a one hour completed project to tape, I invariably get at least one glitch (momentary stop) on the resulting tape. Is there an alternate program I can use to export to tape an .mp4 file created by CS4?

Could be wrong, but as far as I know the only way to "export" to tape is to PLAY the timeline while the camera is connected via Firewire and in record mode
