How do I organize my picture files

There are multiple folders of the same day and it's so disorganized i have about 30 folders for april 25th. Is there anyway to fix this without corrupting the files?

No - iPhoto is a photo management database and it will (must) do all of the file/folder management 0 if you make any changes to the content or structure of the iPhoto library you will corrupt it and may lose data
You use iPhoto to organize and view your photos and these instructions to address them from other programs.
You never muck with the iPhoto library using the finder

    How can I show my pictures' (files') name in Adobe Muse lightbox?
    For example: DSC_0022.jpg

    Hello,
    Muse does not pick up and display the file name by default.
    However, the slideshow Lightbox has a Caption option in which you can manually type the file name there and display it anywhere on/around the picture.

    iPads don't have a filesystem like a computer, Files of that nature must be associated with an App and reside inside that particular App's file space.  So the way to find them is to open the App that opens that file type and look in its file or document list for them.

  • How can I hide the picture file name in the aperture album?

    Hello everyone, could anybody give me a help here?

    How can I get it hide, without having to go one by one deleting it?
    That will depend on the book theme you are using. With some of the themes the filename is an integral part of the metadata displayed with the images. In that case you would need to create a new custom master page design without the metadata textbox and replace the master of all your pages (see: http://documentation.apple.com/en/aperture/usermanual/#chapter=24%26section=13), or simply change the book theme to a theme without filenames (but that may cause some texts to vanish, so try that only on a copy of your book).

  • How do I access my picture files via Finder after I upgraded to Yosemite?

    I upgraded to Yosemite and now I have lost the ability to directly access my picture files via the Finder. There is now no longer a Picture icon in the Finder. Help, huge problem for me as I do a lot of picture editing via Photoshop Elements. I know the pics are still there as the Canon photo viewer shows them.

    Pictures are normally in the top level directory under your username. If you want that directory to be in the Finder sidebar, you can open Finder, then click Preferences on the menu named Finder and then click Sidebar in the Preferences window and put a checkmark in front of Pictures in the list of Favorites.

  • How can I organize my windows file structure to expedite workflow in LR?

    Hello! I'm new at Lightroom2 and am getting ready to import all my current photographs on my hard disk to LR. I began doing this but am finding it very tedious. My current folder organization looks somewhat like this:
    each indent = a subfolder inside the current folder.

    I have gone to File: Import from disk: Import without moving...and it's asking me to select a folder, select a subfolder, then select individual pictures. I've been doing so and then hitting Ctrl:A to just choose all the photos in the folder. Is there a way to organize my photos in Windows Explorer that would expedite the import, yet still be organized by topic?
    I am not set in my ways enough that it HAS to be by topic, but the exifs on them are not all correct by date and I don't remember the dates to correct them myself. I'm just really not thinking of anything on my own. I would LOVE any help I could get! I've been searching through forums and topics similar to this but haven't really found anything very helpful yet.
    -OR- If I am going about this all wrong...please...someone let me know!!

    In a situation such as yours, I tend to consolidate items into folders so I have folders of nice workable numbers of images, somewhere between 20 and 200 images. Now, whatever, once you've imported, do your moving within LR, not the OS! I will select all in a folder and drag into a folder a level or two or three above, and then delete the newly empty subfolders. I hope this helps a bit!
    Once you've reached just new Imports of camera output, you'll be flying along.

  • How can I delete damaged picture files without opening iPhoto?

    I was downloading a few pics from my roommates professional-quality camera (I'm assume the file sizes are huge) and, of course, I had to download all 150 or so, instead just the few I needed. Anyway, I got a message that some of the files were "damaged" and couldn't be downloaded. Now, when I open iPhoto it either just locks up or shows some of the files downloaded, doesn't show others, and then locks up. So, what I need to do is just delete all pictures from that date without opening iPhoto .... any ideas how to do this?

    1 - In the future if you want only certain photos use image capture (in your applications folder) - with it you can selective load photos
    2 - try rebuilding your library - launch iPhoto while depressing the option (alt) and command (apple) keys and use the first three rebuild options
    Do not use the finder to modify the contents of the iPhoto library

  • How can I open a picture file in PS Elements after installing service pack 2?

    Since I installed service pack 2 on my HP computer a week or two ago, the Photoshop "Open" tab no longer appears at the top of my Pictures screen, but rather a "Preview" tab, and I haven't been able to open a picture in Photoshop.  Instead, when I double click on a picture, it opens in Windows Picture Gallery.  Not long after I installed service pack 2, I also changed my default browser from Internet Explorer to Mozilla Firefox, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it.  Thanks...

  • How do I organize my songs(files,playlists) in my zen nano p

    I have read the FAQ about organizing in a USB mass storage player, but I still do not understand how to do it. I have a Zen nano plus with GB and I would like to put my songs into a certain order and/or in 'playlists'. In the FAQ it says to click on the folder where the tracks are that you want reordered, but I do not have a seperate folder where tracks are. Is there also a way to make folders to put songs into If so, how? Also, when a song is playing and I hold down the 'scroll' button a screen comes up that says root with a folder in the left hand corner and two arrows on either side at the bottom with no other words. What is this? Does it have anything to do with making different folders? Most of my songs that are in the Creative Mediasource Organizer are not under the PC music library but in Zen Nano Plus(on the left hand side of organizer) and only show when my zen nano plus is connected to the computer, is that supposed to happen? Will it help in making folders/reordering if all the songs are in the PC music library? How do I put them there(the songs that are in the library are also in the Zen Nano Plus area)? Please help.

    Right click the header bar. Select "Date Added" to add it if it isn't already a sort category. Then click the heading to sort either in ascending or descending order.

  • How do I organize my 3 files to be one file and not lose music from my external drive???

    If given proper instructions, I know I can reorganize this but i'm afraid that I'm going to lose my music. I had "someone" that said they knew what they were doing move the music from my laptop to my external hard drive and they created a NEW file rather than the existing one created by iTunes. They wiped out my iTunes and now I get question marks and now I have doubles, three different files, it's stressing me out. My iPod (80 GB) is full and it doesn't even have the same music as iin the files or on iTunes. All I would like to do is see one file, see all my music in iTunes, and even though I'll have to keep my external connected, I want to know I can click play it it will just go. PLEASE...help.

    PDF is the worst possible format to try to convert to something else -- it is intended to be the end of the line, and the results of conversion are usually a mess.
    I suggest you do a google search on "convert pdf to epub" and try out the various options.

  • How can I open picture files that have been downloaded from my I Phone 4 to my Windows 8 laptop and share them?

    How can I open apple picture files that I downloaded from my IPhone 4 to my windows 8.1 laptop?

    i deleted notes fom my old iphone and surprised to see that they have been deleted from my new phone ..how can i get them back ...i dont have any backup??
    Why would you be surprised?  You were syncing your Notes with iCloud or a Mail Account.  Synchronization means when you make a change on one device, it affects all other devices that are synched for the same purpose.  Like when you delete an email (usually) it also disappears from your other devices as well.

  • How do I move all my iphoto picture files to an external hard drive and then remove iphoto '11 from my computer?

    I would like to remove iphoto '11 from my computer completely because it is causing too many issues.  I would like to ensure that my picture files are safe and stored in an external hard drive.  How do I copy the picture files to an external hard drive without taking the iphoto application files with them? Also, do I need to keep the originals, modified, and masters files of each picture?

    My iphoto has been unresponsive, and I am unable to do anything once I launch the application.
    Option 1
    Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
    Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
    Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
    As to migrating to Aperture: It will import the iPhoto Library and maintain the relationships between Masters and Previews/ Originals and Modified versions.
    There is no way to recreate those relationships in any other app.

  • Send a picture file using sockets

    Hi,
    Could someone please tell me how I can send a picture file using sockets across a TCP/IP network? I have managed to do it by converting the file into a byte array and then sending it but I dont see the data back at the client when I recieve the file. I just see the byte array as having size 0 at client.
    Byte array size is correct at client side.
    //client code
    System.out.println("Authenticating client");
              localServer = InetAddress.getLocalHost();
              AuthConnection = new Socket(localServer,8189);
              out = new PrintWriter(AuthConnection.getOutputStream());
              InputStream is = AuthConnection.getInputStream();
              System.out.println(is.available());
              byte[] store = new byte[is.available()];
              is.read(store);
         ImageIcon image = new ImageIcon(store);
              JLabel background = new JLabel(image);
              background.setBounds(0, 0, image.getIconWidth(), image.getIconHeight());
              getLayeredPane().add(background, new Integer(Integer.MIN_VALUE));
    //extra code here
              catch (UnknownHostException e) {
    System.err.println("Don't know about host: LocalHost");
    System.exit(1);
              catch (IOException e) {
    System.err.println("Couldn't get I/O for "
    + "the connection to: LocalHost");
    System.exit(1);
    //server code
                   DataOutputStream out = new DataOutputStream(incoming.getOutputStream());
                   FileInputStream fin = new FileInputStream("3trees.gif");
                   byte[] b = new byte[fin.available()];
                   int ret = fin.read(b);
                   out.write(b);

    i used OutputStream as
    OutputStream out = incoming.getOutputStream(); and flushed the stream too.
    But I still get the same output on the client side. I tried sending a string and it works , but I cant seem to be able to populate the byte array on the client side. It keeps showing zero. Please advise.
    Thank you.
