How do I organize picture folders in gallery of Galaxy S3

In the files I have my pictures in each folder is in alphabetical order, yet in the gallery there is no order to how they're displayed.
I tried to change names of each fiolder in the picture files they are in but that didn't change anything in the gallery.
Any idea how to do this?

I use QuickPic from the Play Store it always works better for me.. I love the editing options in the software as well over the stock gallery.. Check it out.

You could do this before on the 6300
It really is annoying, as i have a few hundred pictures, and to find one - it takes ages, as i have to scroll through them all!

If you are willing to pay for a superior third party solution, consider getting Resco Photo Viewer. It supports viewing in thumbnail mode and folder browsing like on a normal desktop gallery application (reminds me of ACDSee) and is so much quicker and easier to use than the Gallery app. You can even set it to cache thumbnails so it will be quicker the next time you use it.

How to move some pictures folders outside library?

Because I've stopped iphoto to manage my files, but I've just processed so many photos, but I wish to maintain every pics in the same locations outside iphoto library to use also with Lightroom. But now I've over 200gb of pictures in my personal folder, but 13gb are duplicated inside iphoto library.
May you help me?

Deleting the folders and reimportings it's not possible because faces and locations I just typed.

I've tried... it mantains the geo informations, the name of files, but not the facies...
But it's just an 50% of the works!

How does iPhoto organize pictures

If I have a picture in a folder and then drag and drop it into iPhoto, can I erase the original photo? I am wondering if I am duplicating the presence of the photo by having it in two places once I import it into iPhoto.

Assuming that you are using the default preferences (ie "copy items to the iPhoto library" is CHECKED) once the photo in imported into iPhoto (and you are sure everything is ok) the original can be deleted
iPhoto will maintain that original in the iPhoto Library Package in the originals folder and it will make a copy of it for display purposes that is kept in the data folder. If you make any change to the photo then it will create a modified version that is kept in the modified folder. These folders are all invisible to you and should never be modified except via iPhoto
Nothing in the above discussion eliminates the necessity of ALWAYS having a backup of any important data on any computer - including Macs and iPhoto data

How do i organize preset folders?

I've acquired a lot of presets and I'd like an effective way to organize them. I do group them in folders but it seems there isn't any way to sort the folders effectively. I have aboot a dozen folders I'd like to arrange alphabetically but it seems I can only drag folders to the top of the list, not in between others. Help?

Like any other browser we display what the website sends to us. If the folders are not alphabetical then you would need to ask the website to change the behavior.

HIDDEN PICTURE FOLDERS

Hey Folks... Marvin here with my Curve 8530.
My question is : I wanted to see what the menu looked like if I hid folders in my picture media files and well..... There is no "Show All" in the menu after I hide a picture folder or a picture.
Can anyone tell me how to retrieve my picture folders to be uhm "not hidden"???
Sometimes I can do some real doo doo...

Go to Menu-----Media------Menu-----Explore------Pictures----Menu---Show Hidden. The hidden pictures will appear in a faded colour, to unhide it permanently select/highlight it then press menu, properties then untick the "Hidden" radio box.

files and folders did ask but the first app i tried, file manager didn't.
thats when i came to the forum for help. thanks to Innovatology and aandras for advising to use files and folders.

sad to see so much bitching about the playbook on the forum. i too at times feel bummed that the playbook doesn't work as well as i would like. my 9530 curve works better and is easier to use than my playbook. hopefully the new update will bring the playbook up to par.

Windows Gallery works just like windows Explorer it only points to the pictures folder. It is not a database. So the files do not need to be transfered at all. Just navigate photoshop or any other CS5 program to the pictures folder and work your way through the child folders.

How do I sync multiple picture folders to my iPod touch ? I don't want to create another folder and then copy the desired folders to be synced, into this main folder. All of my pictures are about the size of 5-10 MB. Copying them would mean loss of additional space.

You can only point iTunes at one folder for syncing to the iPod. You can however selectively choose which subfolders of the main folder are included. I use a Photos folder inside iTunes\iTunes Media and move the folders that I want on my device into that, but the parent folder could be anywhere that suits you.

Create a parent folder on your computer to store the named folders of photos that you want transferred to your iPhone. Under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes, select the parent folder. All named folders of photos within will be transferred to your iPhone as separate folders or albums.
Regarding your 2nd question, this should be easy. Your contacts should be available on your computer with or without an iPhone or any cell phone, which can be lost or stolen.
Although contacts are included with your iPhone's backup which is updated by iTunes as the first step during the iTunes sync process, not a good idea to depend on this either since the iPhone backup includes a significant amount of other data. Contacts are designed to be synced with a supported address book app on your computer. With Windoze, this can be with Outlook 2003, 2007, or 2010 along with syncing calendar events and notes, or with the address book app used by Outlook Express with XP and by Windows Mail with Vista and Windows 7 called Windows Contacts for syncing contacts only.
