How can i paste a column of email addresses from an excel spreadsheet into a Mail message To: window

In the past I have been able to send a group email by copying a column of email addresses from an Excel spreadsheet and pasting it into the To: window of an email message I had composed. I simply dragged my cursor down the column containing the email addresses, right-clicked Copy, put my cursor into the To: window of the email, and hit Paste. Mail recognized the list as a series of email addresses and I was able to hit Send and the email went on its way.
Today I tried to do this and after I hit Send I got an error message. It appears to me that Mail did not recognize the list as a series of individual email addresses but saw them as one long address; the error message said it "did not appear to be a valid email address". Has something changed in Mail? I recently installed Mavericks!
I can't be the only one who sends group emails this way. Are others experiencing this problem?

Now Tony, I know you can't hear my tone on a forum post but I was not complaining, simply stating facts . This change brought several people in my office to a grinding halt in a long established workflow that is really rather simple (and I thought was already assumed from the original post above ):
1) Select a set of records in FileMaker Pro 12 and export only their e-mail addresses as a CSV file.
2) Open that CSV file in Excel.
3) Copy the column of e-mail address.
4) paste into the appropriate recipient field in Mail.
5) Send
If I were to complain it would be about Apple's typically opaque approach to updates. There is no granular explanation of why changes were made or even "what" changes were made.
Complaining is futile since Apple is Apple and is unlikely to change, but sometimes it is cathartic to "shout into the void" .
I had thought about doing something with a formula in Excel and your suggestion was simple and helpful. Again, however, it is only a workaround for a long established helpful behavior that Apple has inexplicably broken/removed in Mavericks Mail.
I, and the other posters here, would love to have the capability back rather than have to add previously unneeded steps to our workflows.
Ultimately we may add scripting steps to the FileMaker side to export the address lists with commas inserted already if Apple ends up having permanently removed this feature.

How can I open all webpages within one window, using tabs?

As new user I am missing the opportunity to open a link with a new tab. Firefox opens it often within a new window. Using CTRL can solve it, but I'm not used to that.
I used IE and IE has a setting to open everything within a new tab, instead of in a new window.
Is something like that possible for Firefox?
(I read something like that some website needs to be opened with a new window, because it would show better. To me that is nonsense, because I can decide for myself how to open a page.)
So please add a setting for that, I think it would please more people than just me.

In the Tools menu select Options to open the options window. In the options window go to the Tab panel and make sure the setting "Open new windows in a new tab" is selected.

How do I send a webpage by email?

We send out little reminders from Outlook, that are made with HTML.
Previously, on my Windows desktop, the steps I took to send these were:
1. Open the HTML file in Internet Explorer.
2. Go to File > Send Page by Email.
3. Outlook would pop up with the entire page inserted into the email, graphics and all.
4. Hit send.
How could I do this on a Mac? I've tried Safari's File>Share>Email this Page, but all it gives me is a URL in the email.

When you want to e-mail a page click the Share button in the Safari toolbar.
Select "E-mail This Page"
Mail opens up with page selected.
On the top right side click inside the box that says "Send Web content As" and select "We bPage" .

Sounds like you are not in Mountain Lion and have updated to Pages 5 on Mavericks.
Images in cells ahs been removed by Apple along with over 90 other features in Pages 5.

Pages '09 should still be in your Applications/iWork folder.
Archive/trash Pages 5 and rate/review it in the App Store, then get back to work.

Send the table as an attachment, either a spreadsheet (if the recipient needs to be able to edit it) or a PDF.

It depends on how you took the screen shot.
If you used the Command-Control-Shift-3 shortcut, the screen shot is on your Clipboard and can be pasted into the message.
If you used the Command-Shift-3 shortcut, the screen shot is a picture file on your Desktop and can be dragged into the message.

Pasting webpages to email

I regularly paste Safari images into Apple Mail for my consulting work. In the past, I was able to merely cut-and-paste the entire page, which would appear as a regular image below the text.
After one of the recent upgrades (before 5.0), I found I had to paste the page as a quotation. A normal paste obscured the entire email, and not only made the text unreadable, but made the entire email uneditable. So I started pasting as a quotation, then bumping the quote level down. A few extra keystrokes, but it looked OK.
With 5.0, the paste-as-quote is still required, but now the font sizes from Safari are boosted several sizes once I paste them. I've tweaked the default font in both Mail and Safari, to no avail--I have to surf Safari at a microscopic size in order for it to appear normal in Mail.
Anyone else have a workaround for either of these issues? Sure would make my job easier.

Hi Hans,
I can get a reference error here if the destination table does not have that range available while the source table does.
Are you sure your desination table has exactly the same structure and dimensions as your source table?
If it does, copy/paste via the Formula Editor should work. It works reliably here.
Also the formula in your latest post looks as if it might be corrupted-- lots of extra spaces (it seems). Did your orginal formula have those?
To sort this out, suggest turning off 'Use header names as labels' in Preferences.
If you end up with a formula in a cell as just Text (as Ian describes that's what happens when you copy from Numbers 2) you can convert that text to a formula by double-clicking the cell, clicking just before the text so that the insertion point appears in front of it and typing =. That activates the Formula Editor with the formula in it, which you can accept by clicking the green checkmark or hitting return.

You have to have an IMAP email account in order to create folders in the mail app on the iPad.
If you have an IMAP account, tap on the email account and in the window that shows your InBox, Sent Folder, Trash Folder, etc, there will be an Edit button at the top. Tap that button and a "New MailBox" button will appear at the bottom of the window. Tap that to create a new folder.

There is no way that I know of within the native iPad email app. You might want to search the app store for a third party app that lets you change fonts if this is important.

Can I set up a password protected webpage within my site? I'm using CS4 and would like to create an orphaned page for internal use only. Is there any way you can set up a password protect on one page within an otherwise public website?

The simplest way to achieve this would be to enable password protection for a certain subdirectory by using .htaccess. As long as you / your provider is using apache as web server this can be setup within minutes, all you need is a ftp client (plenty of freeware ones out there),

Or, send your provider an email, he might be willing to do it for you, maybe even for free, since it doesnt take more than 5 minutes to set up.

I would hope that no “Linux Guru” will post something to the effect of “the bash is the answer. Still not solved
I decided to go with the host: <url of p3scan machine> vs iptables. It seemed easier at the time.
The problem is that everything is written as a bunch of options with no clear direction indicated, unless one has a computer science degree or a strong IT background, and I am lacking in both.
The bottom line is that more I look at p3scan, the more confused and lost I become. Is there an alternative to p3scan that actually has GOOD documentation? I looked at Claws but thanks to the new pacman, 50% of all packages fail checksum test, something for another post.
Can someone walk me through this? If someone would walk me through this, I'd be more than happy to turn it into a step-by-step outline designed for the average user because this is just ludicrous. It has been my experience that good documentation open the door to so much more as it pertains to advancing one's undrstanding and enjoyment of Linux. I know that this p3scan setup would be well within the ability of the average "Arch Linux" if it were written for the laymen.

If you want to migrate your data to a new iCloud account, start by saving any photo stream photos that you want to keep to your camera roll (unless already there) by opening your my photo stream album, tapping Select, tapping the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow), then tapping Save to Camera Roll. If you are syncing notes with iCloud that you want to keep, you'll need to open each of your notes and email them to yourself so you can later copy and paste the text into new notes created in your new account. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account (which only deletes it from this device, not from iCloud), provide the password to turn off Find My iDevice and choose Keep on My iDevice when prompted. Then sign back in with a different Apple ID to create your new account and choose Merge to upload your data.
