I would like to know how to copy and paste an image onto a particular layer's blue channel. (prefer non-action listener scripts)

I think the applyImage command is the best way to copy an image into a channel. But that needs scriptlistner. So here is how to do it with the clipboard without scriptlistner.

When I copy a vector shape from one layer to another, the shape picks up the color attributes of an existing shape in the second layer (or sometimes only the outline of the shape appears). What to I do to avoid this from happening (I just just want to paste the shape in its original form and color)?

OK - I guess this is a little more difficult than I imagined...
Merge Layers rasterizes all the vector shapes - I want all the shapes to stay as vectors in the second (pasted) layer.
Merge Shapes changes the color of the copied vector shape - I don't want to change the color
Shape Layer via Copy [Ctrl] +[J] copies the layer containing the vector shape, but doesn't paste it into the second layer
Any other ideas? Or, is it possible that PhotoShop doesn't support varied colored vector shapes on the same layer? I am coming from an InDesign background, and there was no issue having many different (colored) vector objects on the same layer.

Drag Adjustment Layer to Another Image

How can I drag a layer onto another image in PSE4?
Scott Kelby says "drag-and-drop Levels Layer onto one of your other open photos."
I can only see one image at a time in Standard Edit.
I opened 3 photos and saw them cascade as they opened; but then the last one stayed on top.
I can see the others in the Photo Bin only.
I can select any one to be in main window, but not all 3.
How can I arrange them in Cascade mode?

I found the setting under Window, Images, Cascade......

Copy a shape layer to another image?

The only way I've found to copy a shape layer from one image to another is to have both images showing in the Editing pane and to drag and drop the shape layer from the Layers panel onto the other image.
That's a rather tedious process. Is there another way to do it, hopefully a keyboard combo?

I am trying to find a way to copy a text layer in one image to another image of the same size so that the text layer is in the exact same location.
Basically I have two images for a rollover button for a website. What is the easiest way to copy a text layer to the other image so that it will be in the exact same location to create the rollover effect?

Right click on the layer, Duplicate Layer, set destination to the other image file in the dropdown.

If you downloaded the artwork from the Internet. It'll be in your downloads folder. Open the folder, and "drag" the image from the folder to the Artwork box in the Info pane as shown:

So, I got photoshop today for a project I have to do and have never used it in my life. I am making a childrens book for school and I am trying to pug the corner pug in this photo onto the couch of the next photo. I am going to use the various expressions of the pug in different settings but I want just the pug I choose to be there withouth the other ones or the white background. Im aware that its watermarked, Im just going to ignore that unless someone has specific instructions on how I can get that off aswell. How do I do this? Please be specific, thanks!

Open the picture of the pugs. On the Toolbar click the icon for the Lasso tools. In my PSE version this is row 2, column 1 of the Toobar; it might be in a different location in your version. On the tools option bar you will see icons for the different types of lassos. Select the Magnetic Lasso. Click on the pug you want and slowly trace his outline. At the end click again to complete the selection. The pug will be outlined in "marching ants".
Copy this selection to the clipboard: Edit > Copy.
Now open the picture of the sofa. Paste the pug from the clipboard: Edit > Paste. The pug will be placed on a new layer in the Layers Palette.
You will probably want to resize him. To do that, activate the Move tool (row 1, column 2 on my Toolbar). Eight handles will appear around the pug. Holding down Shift, drag any corner handle to resize (Shift preserves the proportions). Also use the Move tool to position the pug where you want him using the mouse. You can also use the arrow keys to fine-tune the position.

If when you selected the pug you selected some excess white outside his outline you can remove this with the Eraser tool (row 7, column 1). Similiarly if you had not selected all of the pug you can use the Brush to paint in the rest. You can also use the Eraser for example to flatten the bottom of the pug as I have partially done.

Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive (works the same with an SD card) into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

Can't drag image onto stage in new layer, from the library?

For a text book assignment we have to make a new layer and then drag a image from the library panel onto the stage but it won't let me? The new layer doesn't look the same as the rest in the timeline panel too.

Thank you for your advice, but sadly it isn't locked. I can drag an image onto a layer already there just not a new layer for some reason. I'm behind in class because of this issue but I'm at a loss. I know how to take a screen shot but how do I add it to here, I pasted it in microsoft word but it wouldn't allow me to upload it as a image...
