How do I patch URM (WebCenter Content: Records)?

Hello,
I was wondering how do you apply a patch to URM/WebCenter Content: Records. A colleague of mine thought it could be done with the same patches released for UCM but it ended up "breaking" the application and he had to reinstall the application.

Hi ,
From 11g onwards there is a single patch which will be used to patch UCM , URM , IBR unlike 10g case .
So what you did was correct and there is no separate patch which needs to be installed to upgrade WCC:Records .
Let me know what is the version of server which is having issue and I can give you the latest patch details .

     Checked-in Audit Entries Default Metadata
     Checked-in Screening Reports Default Metadata

Am not able to select the category/folder in the default check-in form for the above, and i don't see anything in the drop down also
When i click on the Browse button of above 3..
see Retention Schedule & favorite Schedule
But am not able to select any of those.

The Oracle webcenter content: Records system will enable the retention schedule but it won't create any default retention category. If you want apply retention to a content then first you have to create the retention category and the disposition rule. Once you create the retention category then it will be listed under Retention Schedule. In your case complete the default configuration without applying retention, once you create retention you can apply that to those contents.
Browse Content --> Retention Schedules --> Create Retention Category

If you are referring to not using ODC/ODDC kind of software which has drivers to connect to Webcenter Content then following is what I can think of:
1. Have your scanner drop the scanned images to a shared folder
2. Have a standalone Java program to checkin the scanned images to Webcenter Content using RIDC API calls
3. Access what set of metadata you want to set on the content, advice you set most of the general metadata on the folder so the content inherits them
4. If the metadata is available in a database then you could use the Java program to look up to this DB for metadata which performing the checkin

The answer is NO. The WebCenter Content patch includes only WebCenter Content bug fixes. You may refer to the readme file or search for the patch number in support site to know the list of bugs fixed. I have verified the list and it does not include the WebCenter Capture bug 19856709.

c) for the remainder (even for your own custom services) you may use WSDL Generator to expose them
d) since the version 11g, WCC does not hold its own identity pool, but rather takes it from one used by the Weblogic domain (usually, an external LDAP), so if you are interested in creation of users you might want to integrate with this LDAP, rather than with WCC

To Simplify our use case, say you have
a standard adf application
With a jspx and a command button.
Requirement:
When a user user click on the command button from adf application, the ucm check in page should popup allowing the user to index and check in content.
We thought the CHECKIN_NEW_FORM service is suppose to meet that requirement but we are having a problem putting it all together inside our adf application.

Connecting LDAP (sun) to Webcenter content

Hi all,
I am having trouble connecting our ldap to our webcenter content: Records instance. We have been able to connect it to the weblogic server, but cannot get that information over to the application. following the viewlet provided by Oracle I created an ldap provider, however I have also read this is no longer used so disabled it (either way it didn't) work.
The only thing I can think of is that we currently are not using the ldap for groups, and that the application is looking for this information prior to allowing the user access.
another point: when I go to the users tab in weblogic and select the groups for a specific user I receive the following error:
[Security:090278]Error listing member groups <username>
I found an article (1293167.1) indicating that I needed to place values for static-group-dns-from-member-dn-filter, however this was already the default. I tried removing the values for the static groups and groups, which ended up causing the weblogic server to not start.
Any help would be appreciated.

In this case you will need to assign the users some roles which are present on the UCM server (in-built ones) using credential maps . Broadly the steps to include it are as follows :
1.On UCM - Administration - Credential Maps - create a new map
You can use regular expressions there to map the incoming LDAP groups to ucm .
For eg :
ldapgrp1 , contributor
2. Add the following variable to <domain_home>/ucm/cs/data/providers/jpsuserprovider/provider.hda :
ProviderCredentialsMap=<map name from step1 >
Restart UCM .

You'll need to get it all onto one iTunes collection on your Mac Pro, then sync the devices to that. iTunes only lets you transfer purchases from a device, otherwise you have to use third party software.

Yes, you can.
Call one of the Schema services (such as GET_SCHEMA_VIEW_VALUES) and you will get back a ResultSet which you can iterate over.

How to integrate to WebCenter Content using WebServices

I have only been exposed to WebCenter Content for a little while and would like to Integrate with it using WebServives - From what I understand is that if you use webservices (WSDL) there are some configuration that needs to happen on the WC Content side and mostly around security. At the moment I'm just testing the services our from SOAP_UI - Ive used this link http://hostname:16200/cs/idcplg??wsdl
I've tried viewing the WSDl in a browser but nothing displays... Can someone guide and help me on this?

How to recover deleted content file in webcenter content 11g

How to recover deleted folder and contents containing (.doc,.pdf etc), FrameworkFolders component used.

CORRECTION, I was incorrect on a couple of items earlier, sorry:
As you are using Framework Folders, there is no Trash bin. This was removed as it was one reason for Folders_g not being scalable.
When you delete a folder or content via the Framework Folders interface, the content is set to Expired status but not deleted. The folder itself IS deleted so that information is lost.
So you can recover the contents by searching for anything which has an Expired status, but you need to do this in Repository Manager as far as I know because Expired content will not be returned in the usual search query (only Released content can be found, by design). Of course, if you have deleted more than one folder, you will not be able to distinguish the contents as belonging to one folder or another.
On the other hand if you delete the content from the Content Info page, then the content is genuinely deleted from the repository. You'd have to recover that from backup.

interestingly enough, the reference guide for CMIS ( http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/CMIS_Query_Language ) that I found does not mention the COUNT function at all. On the other hand it states that: "The SELECT clause identifies which virtual columns to return in the result set. It can be either a comma-separated list of one or more queryNames of properties that are defined by queryable object types or * for all virtual columns."
There are, however, some other posts like e.g. http://alfrescoshare.wordpress.com/2010/01/20/count-the-total-number-of-documents-in-alfresco-using-sql/ which state that they could make it working.
Having asked in the WebCenter Portal forum, I assume that your content repository is WebCenter Content. The CMIS doc for the Content is available here: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/doc.1111/e15813.pdf (no COUNT there either). It does, however, mention explicitly that "CMIS queries return a Result Set where each Entry object will contain only the properties that were specified in the query.". This means your could rather investigate the Result Set. Note that there are also other means than CMIS how to get the requested result set (e.g. calling a search service directly via so-called RIDC).
In the given context I am also interested what your use case is. OOTB CMIS in WebCenter Portal is used, for instance, in Content Presenter, where it is content rather than "parameters" what's displayed.
