How do I pay for ipad app purchase with iTunes card

I Am using an ipad.  I went to the App Store and downloaded a free game.  However it has other features you can pay for. I want those.  How do I pay for it with an iTunes card? Only option it gives me is credit card

You need to add your iTunes gift card as your method of payment for your Apple ID. Once you do that the amount for things you purchase will be deducted from the gift card.

I have a current debit card on my iTunes account  which has no money in the account. i have recently purchased a iTunes gift card and want to buy in app item but don't want it charged to the account with no money in it. If i go ahead and redeem it and make the purchase, will it take the money from my iTunes account or my Credit card? If so how i could i change it otherwise?

It'll take the money from the gift card's balance automatically if allowed for that specific purchase. You don't have any control over whether or not it'll be allowed.

After I upgraded to Mavericks I was also having this message when I tried to update. There was a previous post about this problem which offered this simple solution which worked for me:

Got it! Thanx.  What I did was go to my account, check that they had my new ID and Password which they did, then hit reset button. All fixed.

  • HT4009 How do I make an in-app purchase using iTunes card and not a credit card? Please Help!

I can't make an in-app purchase in the app game Campus Life. iTunes goes to the credit card and I don't have a credit card, and so an error shows up insufficient funds. I have money in my iTunes account from the gift card. How do I buy through iTunes not through a Credit card? I didn't see anything on iTunes/apple account that will let me change it. I see other people can get gems or whatever through iTunes in-app. Please help ASAP! Thanks.

I'm having the same problem with the cards app by Apple. Someone please help!

  • If I buy an in app purchase with iTunes account "B" on my ipad, while logged into a different gamecenter, will it show up on Apple ID "A" email?

If I buy an in app purchase with iTunes account "B" on my ipad, while logged into a different gamecenter, will it show up on Apple ID "A" email? I am trying to buy an in app purchase for Clash Of The Clans. My gamecenter is associated with Apple Account "A", but if I purchase the in app purchase under Apple Account "B", will it show up in Apple Account "A" email, due to it being associated via gamecenter? Please reply!

No. An in-app purchase can only be made through the same iTunes Store account that the game was originally purchased through and will be linked only to that account. Receipts will be mailed only to the email address associated with that Apple ID. What Game Center account the game is linked to will be, to the best of my knowledge, irrelevant.

  • How do i approve my kids app purchases with family share

how do i approve my kids app purchases with family share on my iphone?

    Hello andrewmarkp,
With Family Sharing, you can approve purchases with the Ask To Buy feature. The following article provides helpful information:
Family purchases and payments - Apple Support
Approving purchases with Ask to Buy
You can turn on Ask to Buy to require approval for purchases initiated by any family member who is under 18 years old.*
    iOS 8
Tap Settings > iCloud > Family, and tap your family member's name.
    Turn on Ask to Buy.
    OS X Yosemite
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences > iCloud.
Click Manage Family and select your family member's name.
    Select Ask to Buy.
Ask to Buy is enabled by default for any children under 13 years old, and can be enabled during the setup process for any children 13-17 years old.* You can't turn on Ask to Buy for adults.
If you don't wish to be billed for purchases initiated by a specific adult family member, you can remove that family member from the family group.
*Ages may vary by country or region.
Family Sharing requires a personal Apple ID signed in to iCloud and iTunes. Music, movies, TV shows, and books can be downloaded on up to 10 devices per account, five of which can be computers. iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite are required to set up or join a Family Sharing group and are recommended for full functionality. Not all content is eligible for Family Sharing. Content can be hidden by family members; hidden content is not available for download. Content downloaded from family members or acquired via redemption codes is not subject to Ask to Buy.

  • Backing up iPad apps purchased with two accounts?

For a recent sync, I "transferred purchases" from my iPad to iTunes and subsequently synced it to my iMac with my personal AppleID. Before syncing, my iPad had apps purchased with two separate AppleIDs on it.
Upon doing a restore for the iOS5 upgrade, the apps purchase on the other AppleID account don't show up on my iPad.
Where are the apps now and how can I get them, and their data, back?!? I know I can log into the other AppleID on my iPad and redownload the lost apps from the App Store. However, I need the DATA from the apps (note taking apps and such). How do I get that data back?
If this isn't an option, this is a major fault of Apple's account design.
Thanks in advance for your help and suggestions~

    Hello J_DougBC,
Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities.  I found an article that addresses Apple IDs that are different than the Primary Email Address on the account.  You will need to go to https://appleid.apple.com/ to "Make your Apple ID and email address one and the same."
If your Apple ID and primary email address do not match, or they match but the email address is unverified, you can edit them.
    1. Sign in to My Apple ID to manage your account information.
    2. If you want to add and verify an email address that matches your Apple ID, follow the dialog box that says "Make your Apple ID and email address one and the same." This will automatically unverify that email address from any other Apple ID for which it was previously verified.
    3. If you want to change your email address to one that does not match your Apple ID, click Edit next to your Primary Email Address. If this email address is already associated with another Apple ID, you will need to sign in with that Apple ID and delete it before you can add it to your preferred Apple ID.
Note: If you have an @me.com or @mac.com Apple ID and primary email address, you cannot edit your primary email address once it has been verified. To change your @me.com or @mac.com primary email address to another email address, contact Apple Support for assistance.
You can find the full article here:

I hope this helps get you back on track!

  • Being charged twice for in app purchases with MY SINGING MONSTERS

this has gone on long enough and I'm sick and tired of hearing the same talk over and over again .
For some ungodly reason twice now I've been charged randomly for in app purchases that I have only purchased once ,I have made the purchase using a gift credit but have also been charged to my card which has declined the purchase ,I have contacted support and they say send an email with the details ,I've sent 4 emails and after many weeks am still yet to receive a call back ,the issue with the overcharge means my icloud account has been rendered unusable ,even previous purchases I have made cannot be restored aswell because my sons ipad is linked to my account his has been stuffed up too ,we can't even update our apps and to restore this I could make the payment ,out of principal I refuse to do so .
This overcharge problem has happened twice now ,the first time they said it was a system glitch and they credited my account ,problem solved ,but this time round after completing the instructions I was informed to do I'm still waiting for a fix
Ready to throw my iPad at the wall and go android

We're not Apple, we're just other users like you who can possibly provide advice.
Was this an audiobook or was it an iBook?  Audiobooks can only be downloaded once per payment.  You can avoid multiple payments by transferring the files while syncing.
If it was an iBook it should have warned you about making a second payment.  There are specific steps to downloading past purchases.
Downloading (using iOS or computer) past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519 - enabled with iTunes 10.3 and newer; not all media formats are available in all countries (see: iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match Availability by Country - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5085); apps, books (not audiobooks), music, t.v. shows, and movies (some - not all studios have permitted this).  Downloading previously purchased movies and TV shows requires iTunes 10.6 or later.  Discontinued items not available. For items not included in the iCloud list (e.g., ringtones, audiobooks), or locations or computer systems where iCloud is not (yet?) available, you only get one download per fee paid.  Apple notes it is your responsibility to back up your purchases.
Select the iTunes Store on the left side of iTunes.
Click on Purchased on the right side under Quick Links.
You can re-download your available previous purchases.
Apple's sales policy is all purchases are final.  You can try asking if they will refund but the decision is up to them.  iTunes Customer Service Contact - http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact.html > Get iTunes support via Express Lane > iTunes > iTunes Store

  • Looking for step-by-step tutorial for in-app purchase with iOS

    Hello everyone,
I'm in a bit of an unusual situation here. I'm currently working in a company, the elder programmers of which are in a different project while my humble self is charged with the task to develop for iOS with Flash Pro CS5.5.
Our Creative Director is planning the app to have an in-app purchase feature for some content. The problem is, that I have never dealt with such core programming yet, so I don't yet have an understanding of how to imagine the process of the in-app purchase itself. Sure, I googled and read through the tutorials explaining the certificates and the procedure of getting the information from Apple to be able to publish Apps. But I haven't found a decent tutorial explaining the programming part of an iOS in-app purchase with AS3 yet. It might be because developing with Flash for iOS is currently developing (haha) and so the community is still growing, but surely there are already people who managed to get it all running, one only need to know where to look for them.
So is there anybody out there, who could either explain himself, or point me into the right direction where someone else explains it, so I can learn the full process of integrating an in-app purchase function into an App developed for iOS with Flash and AS3?
I would be incredibly thankful for information of any kind, that would help me.
    Thanks in advance!
