How do I perform a call to shell script from another shell script

In /jacorb/bin I have to compile some IDL files to java, but I do not know how:
In the terminal window, I am able to run #sh compile.sh
But in compile.sh there is another call to a an idl.sh and a ir.sh at the same line
The error say that it can not find these two files.
What to do...
Br Morten Bo

My compile.sh file looks like this:
#!/bin/sh
PATH=/usr/jdk/jdk1.5.0_07/bin:$path;
# my path --> /JacORB/bin/ and /JacORB/lib
idl.sh -ir -d ../src -i2jpackage mortens:com.nokia.m2m.orb.idl.egsmt egsmt.idl
%RESOLVE_JACORB_HOME%
JACORB_HOME=${RESOLVED_JACORB_HOME}
@RESOLVE_JAVA_CMD@
JAVA_CMD=${RESOLVED_JAVA_CMD}
exec "$JAVA_CMD" \
@JACORB_BOOTCLASSPATH@ \
-Djacorb.home="${JACORB_HOME}" \
-Dorg.omg.CORBA.ORBClass=org.jacorb.orb.ORB \
-Dorg.omg.CORBA.ORBSingletonClass=org.jacorb.orb.ORBSingleton \
-classpath "${CLASSPATH}" \
"$@"
And my idl.sh looks like this:
#!/bin/sh
# @DONT_EDIT@
@RESOLVE_JACORB_HOME@
JACORB_HOME=${RESOLVED_JACORB_HOME}
@JAVA_CMD@ -classpath ${JACORB_HOME}/lib/idl.jar:${JACORB_HOME}/lib/logkit-1.2.jar:${CLASSPATH} org.jacorb.idl.parser "$@"
So, what d I have to put in instead of these @@ and $$
I really do not know how to set up pathnames in solaris

• Trouble in Unix calling a Java utility from another shell script

Hi,
I'm able to run a shell script (call it script B) in Unix which calls a Java utility. When I call script B from another script (script A) I get the error below. I have done much work to make sure the environment variables are the same.

ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
Thanks

Here's my guess, if this doesn't work, post your scripts and maybe that will help.
When you run your script B, you said it works. I think the problem is that when you run script B, your shell and envirenment variables are set by the window you're working in. When you call script B from script A, it creates a new shell to run it and it doesn't run the files that are run when you start a terminal or a telnet(it won't run .cshrc, .kshrc or .login). Depending on what OS you're using, I think the default shell is sh for most of them. The first line of script B should be
#!/(your bin directory)/(shell you're using)
for me it's
#!/bin/tcsh
then you might want to run your startup file to set envirenment variables, paths, etc...
source (your user directory)/(the file name)
for me it's
source ~/.cshrc
Then if you need to set the environment variables in your script.
set CLASSPATH /usr/local/j2ee/bin.....
set PATH /bin:/xyz....
If that doesn't help post your scripts, or if I didn't explain it will enough, just ask.

Hi ..... can somebody plz tell me
How to call a Java Class from another Java Class assuming both in the same Package??
I want to call the entire Java Class (not any specific method only........I want all the functionalities of that class)
Please provide me some slotuions!!
Waiting for some fast replies!!
Regards
Smita Mohanty

Hi Smita,
you just need to create an object of that class,thats it. Then you will be able to execute each and every method.
e.g.
you have developed A.java and B.java, both are in same package.
in implementaion of B.java
class B
A obj = new A();
//to access A's methods
A.method();
// to access A's variable
//either
A.variable= value.
//or
A.setvariable() or A.getvariable()

• How to call a rtf template from another rtf template by passing a value

Hi Gurus,
Its about calling a rtf template from another rtf template by passing a value.
My requirement is like:
I got a quote report from Siebel, based on the product PartNumber I need to pull product description or literature from another database database.
My approach is something like; get a partnumber from quote report pass it to another rtf template which uses the partnumber and get the data from table using DataSource. When user pull a quote report from siebel this new rtf template should attach to the quote at the end.
I've gone through all available blogs about sub-reports and white papers from Oracle they are not much helpful since I need step-by-step.
http://www.adivaconsulting.com/adiva-blog/item/36-working-with-rtf-sub-templates.html
bip-subtemplate-1-132933.pdf
I'm using 10g obiee integrated with Siebel.
Just started learning BIP.
Thanks in advance.

How to call a rtf template from another rtf template by passing a value try in main template create hyperlink of url with parameters for another template
http://bipconsulting.blogspot.ru/2010/02/drill-down-to-detail-or-another-report.html
When user pull a quote report from siebel this new rtf template should attach to the quote at the end.it'll be only another report
IMHO you can not attach it to main. it'll be second independent report
you can try subtemplate but it's not about rtf from rtf by click
it's about call automatically rtf subtemplate from main rtf based on some conditions
for example, main template contain some data and if some condition is true then call subtemplate and place it instead of its condition

• Calling BPM Sub Process from another BPM Process - Stuck at Sub Process

Hi
JDeveloper 11.1.1.6, BPM 11.1.1.6, WLS 10.3.6
I am trying to Call a BPM Process from another BPM Process. Both the processes are defined in the same BPM Project.
Both the Processes have 'None' Start and End activities.
The 'Parent Process' has a 'Call Activity' which calls the 'Sub Process'.
The Sub process takes a parameter of payload object as input and returns output (also same payload object)
I have passed the payload object from parent to sub process in the 'Data Associations'.
The Start and End activities in the sub process also have the data associations set where I am passing the payload object from parent process to child process.
When I run the process and see the Enterprise Manager console - Audit Trail / Flow tabs,
Flow Tab - The progress of the process is showing only till the Calling of the sub process in the Parent Process. It does not show the Sub Process.
Audit Trail Tab - Shows that the Sub Process is called but has not reached to the End of the Sub process.
The audit trail does not have links to the sub process activities.
I cannot see any exceptions as well in the audit trail.
How can I find out why the process is stuck? Or what is going on in the process?
Please let me know if my explanation is not clear?
Thanks for any help
Regards
Sameer

Thanks for replying.
I have another Sub Process with Start and End events as Message Events and used Send Task and Receive Task (Implementation : Process Call) in the Main process to invoke the sub process asynchronously.
Then, the Sub Process is shown in the 'Flow Trace' as child of the main process.
In this particular one, I used 'Call Activity' to call the sub process.
So the Audit trail is showing the sub process as a child.
But what I was trying to say is that the audit trail did not have links to the entries in the 'Event' column (in Enterprice manager - instance window). (like Instance entered activity, Instance left activity etc).
I was intending to use these links to see the payload information and try to debug if there is any problem with the code.
The actual problem I was trying to say in the post is that, even after the user responds to the activity (User Task - Approval) in the Sub process,
the audit trail is not proceeding further.
In the Sub process definition, after the user task, there is End with none implementation.
Hope it is clear now.
Thanks and Regards

• Calling a javascript function from another javascript

Hi,
How can I call a java script functon implemented in java script file JS1, from another java script file say JS2. In fact I can copy the same method and can go ahead but it will add to the code redundancy.

If you are indeed talking about JavaScript, then you are definitely in the wrong forum. This forum is about Java, which has nothing to do with JavaScript at all.

• Run vbs script from maxl shell

Hi -
I created one vbs script (test.vbs) which copy file from one location to another one. I'm calling this vbs script from one maxl script (copy.msh).
Here is the code in copy.msh:
login "$user" "$pw" on "$server";
shell "$(path)test.vbs xx.rul";
When I run copy.msh script from windows command line, I get the window popup message:
"Windows can not open this file test.vbs" ...
Do I have to configure something on my machine to run vbs script? Any help on this would be highly appreciated.
Thank You!

Ensure the $path variable is being assigned the correct value. Based on the error you quoted, its not being assigned a value at all.
It would help if you posted your actual code. Pls put the code inside {code} {code} tags for easier viewing.

• How to refer the trigger written in one form from another form ?

How to refer the trigger written in one form from another form ?
Thanks,
Ravi Shankar

Try to convert the PL/SQL code from Forms trigger into a PL/SQL library(.PLL),
and then attach that PLL in your forms.
Note that all Forms objects should be referenced indirectly, for example,
you have to rewrite
:B1.DEPT_CODE := :B2.DEPT_CODE;
:B3.TOTAL_AMOUNT := 100;
==>
copy('B2.DEPT_NO','B1.DEPT_NO');
copy('100','B3.TOTAL_AMOUNT');
This is the best way to share PL/SQL code among Oracle Forms.

is there a method to send the parameters to another webdynpro application without show the parameters on the address bar?
Can somebody help me pls?
Thanks.

I've used a server cookie before. This was built for BSP, but it is really usable anywhere. It just writes the data temporary into the database. This way you can just pass one meaningless URL parameter - like a GUID and use this key to read the data (the server cookie) upon initialization of the new application. I generally serialize all the data that I want into one server cookie by serializing a class. I can then restore whatever attributes of the class that I want on the receiving side.

• [OSB] Calling a secured proxy from another secured proxy

Hi,
I would like to call a secured proxy from another secured proxy. However, the call fails.
I'm making a call from a Java stand alone Web Service client. The client uses policy "oracle/wss11_message_protection_client_policy".
The call is made to a proxy secured with a "oracle/wss11_x509_token_with_message_protection_service_policy". The secured proxy routes to a non secured proxy, which does not process WSS Security Header. The non-secured proxy then routes to a non-secured business service. The call is a success.
Then I add a policy to the second proxy, say "oracle/log_policy". Also I set the value of "Process WS-Security Header" to yes. The call fails.
I'm getting
java.lang.NullPointerException
at oracle.wsm.agent.handler.WSMEngineInvoker.createWsmMessageContextFromInvokerContext(WSMEngineInvoker.java:733)
in the osb logs.
I have tried adding an empty WSS Security Header in the Soa headers before calling the second proxy. It didn't change anything.
Do you have any ideas?
I have also came up with a super simplified sitution when this error comes up. This happens when I'm calling a pass through proxy (no policy, process WSS security header set to no). Then when this proxy calls a secured proxy with "oracle/log_policy", the call results in this error. Why??
Here is the OSB output when the problem occurs:
