How do I permanently delete Numbers files on the iPad? I use the trash button, and they seem to be deleted, but they are not. If I leave Numbers and come back, I can still load the deleted files!

Do you mean to delete them from numbers, or from the shared folder location in the upper right? The previous poster was addressing the second. If you want to completely delete something from the iPad, you must do both, the trash can icon when e current workbook is in front of the list, and swipe to delete from the shared folder list. It's two completely different locations.

Solved! Music was in Itunes folder but not in Media folder within that. It doesn't seem like a very user friendly system so far!

Highlight the image, press the delete key, in the dialog that appears click the button that says, "Delete from disk."
If you want to delete multiple images you can go through your images and when one is highlighted that you want to delete press the X key. That will mark the image for deletion. And you can choose to remove the marked images from the catalog or to delete them from your disk.

Perhaps you do not have permissions to move the file. Do a get info on a file you cannot delete. Open the details triangle. Report back.

You can delete the currenlty installed apps. Hold down an app until all the apps jiggle. Then on each app tap the x then tap Delete. Press the Home button once to to stop the apps from jiggling.
And you can hide purchases > iTunes Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases
But purchase history cannot be delete.

In Excel, the .xls file would always open on the the cell location where the file was previously saved. Very nice to have feature when the file is long ,so one does not have to keep scrolling down the page to make the next entry every time the file is opened.

When I Save a Numbers document with a cell Selected and then close the document, the same cell is still selected when I reopen the document. Isn't that what you are asking for? Furthermore, if I have chosen 100% zoom scale, the selected cell is displayed in the same screen position as when it was last saved. What you may be seeing that you don't care for is that if the zoom is other than 100% the table's position in the display window may be different than at the last Save.

I created a new spreadsheet on the ipad. When I went to sync in itunes it created a file called blank. Better yet how do I work on it. I dragged to desktop and launched pages. Has to be a better way.

Nope, that sounds about right (except that you would have launced Numbers for a spreadsheet). You copy it off the ipad through iTunes and open it in the parent app.

Just connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes and once iTunes picks up the iPad you will see "devices" and the iPad will be listed under that. To the right of that is a arrow, tap that so it opens the sub menu and then click on "photos".
Anything on the iPad you can delete thru here regarding photos.
