How do I place an image into an existing picture box?

I used to be able to select an existing picture box, then hit Command-D and select a new image. It would then pop into the existing box I had selected. Now something different happens... a thumbnail appears over my cursor and I have to stamp the image down in a new box. This is annoying and wastes time because now I have to cut and paste the image into the existing box.
Have I changed a setting or something? HELP

It's version 10.2.0.69, thanks!

  • How do I Place an image into the center of an activated artboard in CC?

    I have just upgraded to CC from CS6. In CS6, I could activate an artboard (double click it in the Artboard panel) and then Place an image, which would by default go into the center of the artboard.
    With CC, it "loads" the image into the cursor which I then need to Place by clicking somewhere.
    How can I get it to either behave as it did in CS6, or customize to load it into the center when I click, such as with a modifier key?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    With the Window > Allign panel,
    You can select the option to allign to selection or to Artboard.
    When you select "to Artboard" you schould be able to use the Allign option to get it centerred.
    See preview bellow.
    Hope this helps.

  • How can I paste an image into a text/title box?

    Hi,
    I am putting together a 'memories' video using the 'Photo Album' theme in iMovie 11. What I want to do is insert some titles along the way (photo album type), have text above (no problem) with a still image in the box below. However, when I try to drop the image on the title box (on the timeline) it plays about 1-2 seconds of the still before it merges into the titles frame. I want it to merge/play instantly. It doesn't seem to matter whether I place the image directly on top of the title, before it or after. Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    John

    No-one eh? Guess I'll keep searching. Thanks for looking.

  • How can I place an image into an email receipt or confirmation message?

    Once a FormsCentral form is completed and submitted, I would like to send the submitter an email receipt or confirmation message that includes an image and a URL link. Is that possible? I know an image can be inserted into the first form they complete, but I'm not seeing that feature in any of the autoresponse options.

    Hi,
    Currently, only a plain text message may be provided when customizing the email receipt or confirmation message.

  • How do I place an image inside of a text box, then lock the image

    I have the text where I want it, in font, style, color and everything. But there is an image that I need too to go infront of the text and i need it in the text box so that both the image (which already has a clear background), matches the textbox which also too has a clear background.

    Copy and paste the image inline.
    Or simply overlay it and group the textbox and image.

  • How do I place an image from PS into InDesign?

    Hi,
    I created a notecard in Photoshop and need to put two on a page in InDesign CS3. I placed the graphic on the page but it's way larger than the designated paper size. I tried going to Object>Fitting to fix the problem but nothing happened. So I tried manually setting the height and width I needed the image to be on the page and it resized the image okay but I couldn't see the entire image within the new size. So my question is how do I place an image, get it to the dimensions I need (see dimensions below) and add two to a page?
    FYI: The paper size is: 8.5 x 11 inches. The graphics are 4.25 x 5.5 inches. I need to print two to a page.
    Thanks for the help.

    To add to M Blackburn's advise, the two selection tools will change what you can do.
    The Selection tool (solid black arrow) will allow you to select the frame itself. It will only select the content if you click on the donut. When the frame is selected, you will see the frame with handles on the corners and centers of lines, and it will be in the color designated to the layer. The default color for layer one is blue, but this can be changed, so don't be thrown if it isn't blue for some reason. Dragging the handles will change the size and placement of the frame, and when moved toward the image, will crop it. Holding the shift key while dragging a handle will keep the frame within proportion (a 3"x5" rectangle will remain 3 units by 5 units, although those units will be larger or smaller than an inch, depending on whether you enlarge or shrink the frame).
    The Direct Selection tool (white arrow) will select the content, rather than the frame. When selecting the content, you will see the handles on a bounding box around the content, and the color will be light brown. Dragging a handle will change the size of the image, and you can also drag the whole image to move it in relation to the frame, which can be used to crop the image as well. Holding shift will keep the image size proportional.
    You should take notice of whether the frame color or the content color is what you see, because double-clicking with the Selection tool will toggle between frame and content, the way clicking within the donut will allow content to be edited while the Selection tool is active.
    If you want to view the image size as a percentage, using the Direct Selection tool is what you want. If you use the Selection tool, you will see the percentage of the frame, which will change while you are dragging it, but as soon as you release the mouse button, it will show 100%. Switching to the Direct Selection tool will show you the percentage of reduction or enlargement of the image itself, and if the X and Y aren't the same, your image is out of proportion.
    Lastly, the shift key, along with Command will probably be what you will use the most, as it will allow you to drag a corner of the frame of a placed image with the Selection tool and proportionally resize the content along with the frame.

  • How can I place good screenshots into InDesign?

    This is essentially what I am trying to do as well...Is there a correct answer that was given? How do know which answer is the one correct answer that is noted in the forum? My question is identical to the one below. My screen shots are off a website.
    I am working on a guide in InDesign to distribute to our customers that shows step by step instructions on how to use our software.  I am taking screenshots of the software and placing them into InDesign.  I have tried this many different ways now and I can't get the images to look clear.  I have taken the screenshot and pasted it into Illustrator, Photoshop, even Paint and then saved it as many different file types, jpeg, gif, tif, etc.  It looks great in Illustrator or Photoshop but after I place the image into InDesign it looks awful.  It looks blurry on the screen and after I print.
    If I paste the image into Illustrator and then copy from there and simply paste into InDesign the image looks much better.  Almost perfect.  But I know this isn't the right way to do this and the images aren't saved/linked this way.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?

  • How Do I Combine Several Images Into One Image Which Contains Links To A Series Of Web Sites?

    How do I combine several images into one such that the combined image contains a series of web links? In particular, I’d like to create such an image and put it into my Outlook email signature. At present, as per the image below, I have at least six separate images in my email signature with each image containing a web link. Is Photoshop the best tool for this job? Or would it be easier to do this in some other package? I have three packages at my disposal: Photoshop, Ilustrator and Dreamweaver. Can someone please explain in detail how I would do this? Or perhaps someone could direct me to a link that explains how to do this. Thank you.

    Thank you for that correction, Hobotor. I admit I hadn't thought about an image map, in the context of someone who doesn't seem to know HTML very well...  My thinking was running along the use of the Photoshop Slice Tool to get most of the way there...
    To expand on the above, if you were to slice up your image using the Slice Tool, say like this:
    Save for Web & Devices will create the HTML and save all the sub-images.
    Then you edit the HTML and add a (hypertext link) elements surrounding the various images.  Only thing is you'll have to set the border-style of the images to none.
    For example:
    <!-- Save for Web Slices () -->
    <table id="Table_01" width="554" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
    <tr>
      <td colspan="10">
       <img id="Sig_01" style="border-style:none" src="images/Sig_01.jpg" width="554" height="56" alt="" /></td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
      <td colspan="10">
       <a href="http://www.GrahamsWebSite.com"><img id="Sig_02" style="border-style:none" src="images/Sig_02.jpg"
            width="554" height="43" alt="" /></a></td>
    </tr>
    etc.
    A full copy of the HTML and images can be found here...  View Source to see it as an example:

  • How do I place an image and insert a different photo for the "mouse down" state?

    I have placed an image within an accordian widget and when I select the "mouse down" area in the states dialog box, i click "fill" in the toolbar and insert the photo i want to display when the image is clicked but this image is "covered up" by the originally placed image and is not seen in my states dialog box.
    I have done this before when i made rectangles and placed images in rectangles. But i soon realized that you cannot add alternative text to images in rectangles for some frustrating reason.
    How do I place and image and have a different image for the mouse down state?

    Hello,
    This effect can only be achieved when you use the images as a Rectangle Fill. And as you mentioned it above, you cannot add alternative text to images because it is added as a fill and not as a image.
    I would suggest you to post this as a feature request on our "Ideas for features in Adobe Muse" section of the forums : http://forums.adobe.com/community/muse/ideas

    how do i bring an image into photoshop?

    Additionally, if you've copied an image from a website or other location, you can go to File > New and, for CS6, at least, the canvas will already be the dimensions of the image you have in your clipboard. So, once you start that new file, you can simply go to Edit > Paste (or hit cmd V) to drop in the image.
    Please let us know if we can assist you any further.

    If the image is on another server then we prefer to have a link instead of the real image in case it is a large image and we've already seen it or do not want to wait for it to load (server may be slow).
    I do not know what any of this means.
    I have a single laptop connected to the internet.
    So far I have worked out how to upload an image to a thread-reply by copying the uploaded file "path" and pasting it onto the reply

    1. the URL
    2. the image at the bottom of the reply

  • How do you set an image into the background of a JPanel or JFrame?

    How do you set an image into the background of a JPanel or JFrame?

    Something like this, Ive thrown in an ImageIcon on a
    button too for good measure.
    import java.awt.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    public class JFrameImage extends JFrame {
    public JFrameImage() {
    Container c    = getContentPane();
    JPanel panel = new JPanel(){
                 public void paintComponent(Graphics g)     {
    ImageIcon img = new
    = new ImageIcon("background.jpg");
                      g.drawImage(img.getImage(), 0, 0, null);
                      super.paintComponent(g);
            panel.setOpaque(false);
    ImageIcon icon = new ImageIcon("onButton.jpg");
    JButton button = new JButton(icon);
    panel.add(button);
    c.add(panel);
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    JFrameImage frame = new JFrameImage();
    frame.setSize(200,200);
    frame.setVisible(true);
    Going totally fancy pants
    ImageIcon bigImage = new ImageIcon(bgImage.getImage().getScaledInstance(getWidth(), getHeight(),Image.SCALE_REPLICATE));
    g.drawImage(bigImage.getImage(), 0, 0, this); Will scale the image to the size of the panel
    whereas
    for (int y = 0; y  < getHeight(); y = y + image.getHeight(null))
    for (int x = 0; x< getWidth(); x = x + image.getWidth(null))
    g.drawImage(image, x, y, this); Will give a tiled effect
    Try tiling with an animated gif and bring your processor to a standstill.

    I am trying to put images into a Google map using my MacBook, but cannot seem to find any help. How do I insert an image into my Google map using my MacBook?

    Nothing complicated with your menu - very clear "ADD Image" but my menus are not as simple. Everytime I need to add an image I spend 5-10 minutes searching again. Wonder why so hard. I generally find Acrobat menus cryptic and unclear and I am big Adobe fan - use Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Premier, Fireworks etc - but Acrobat menus are like calculus in the dark.

    Not sure this would address your issue, but the Crop Tool works that way: set the width and height, plus resolution, and Crop does everything. You could then paste the result into another file if that completes your process.
