  • How can I play itunes music through one of the usb ports on my new MacBook Air?

    Greetings Everyone.
I just purchased my first Mac product I want to be able to play music from the itunes app from one of my usb ports to the usb port on the front panel of my Yamaha CD changer. I want to utilize the buit-in DAC of the Yamaha. A friend was able to run his Ipad through it but I can't see a way to run my MacBook Air through it. When I go to System Preferences -> Hardware -> Sound the only item listed for Output is "Internal Speakers".
    Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

    Reset the SMC and PRAM
    SMC Reset:
    Shut down the MacBook Pro.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
    PRAM:
    Shut down the MacBook Pro.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R.
    Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.

  • How can I play my ipad through my TEAC speaker

I have a 2/3 year old single TEAC speaker with no airplay functionality. How can I play my ipad through this speaker, preferably without wires
    Thanks

If you're just looking to play audio, the easiest way is to buy an AirPort Express and connect your stereo to the miniplug jack, then play using AirPlay. That's how I do it! And as an added bonus, it can extend your wireless network.

An AppleTV would work too, if you're also looking to stream video.

how can i play iTunes on apple tv from my mac?  i used to have an icon that synced the two but i can't find that icon anymore

If you are using the 2nd or 3rd gen Apple TV (little black box) then it would have no syncing or storage capability.
iTunes content would be accessed using home sharing.

  • How do i play itunes in windows media

How can I play itunes in windows media?  I can burn in windows media, but in itunes it says it can't find the device.  Please advise.

You don't "play iTunes" in Windows Media. Both of these apps are media players: one native to Mac OSX-- iTunes and the other native to MS-- XP; Vista; Win7. The popularity of iPods initially, then iPhones and now iPads caused Apple to make iTunes+QuickTime available for Windows users who wanted to own and use those mobile devices but retain their Windows machines. The issue that you are asking is whether or not you can play your audio files in WinMedia instead of in iTunes. Yes, you can. You will need to launch Windows Media player and import into the library the audio files which are "living" in iTunes. Actually they are in the "My Music" folder of your home on the C: drive.

  • How do I play itune songs consecutively?

How do I play itune songs consecutively? They either play in a loop individually or stop at the end. Both on Windows and iphone.

Make sure the Repeat control is off. Tap to cycle between Repeat Off, Repeat and Repeat Track.
There is a similar control on the iPhone.
In the Songs view Ctrl-Click on any empty checkbox to ensure all the tracks are checked. Unchecked tracks are skipped during normal track-to-track playback.

  • How do I play iTunes through my HiFi system ?

I'm new to Apple support communities having just bought my first Macbook Pro (a 17" 2.5GHz i7 model) and this is my very first iTunes post.
I’m a bit of a Hi-Fi enthusiast, so, with my new MacBook Pro I've taken the opportunity of completely reloading my iTunes library to disk in high quality Apple Lossless format. Took a while but now I've completed the task I’m really pleased I've done it.
My question is, what is the best way to connect a Macbook Pro to a high quality Hi-Fi preamp so I can play iTunes through my high quality Lounge HiFi system ? . . .  my Hi-fi system is by Musical Fidelity, and the pre amp a Musical fidelity A5cr, this is a very expensive and good quality pre-amp, which has superb audio quality, but, only has analogue RCA phono inputs.
I'm guessing one option must be to use the MBP headphone output, either as an analogue or digital source, but I suspect its analogue headphone output will be totally incompatible with the RIAA requirement of the pre amp phono input ?
I’ve also read some comments about using digital connection – USB DAC’s appear to be an option but I don’t know anything about these or which models (available in the UK) are recommended – anyone got any experience ?
I've also read in an archived post here that MBP's have an optical output so maybe that could be used as the input to a DAC ? . .again any advice on which is the best way to go much appreciated ?
Apologies if this question has been asked lots of times before but I've looked through some previous posts and can't find any answers in simple and straightforward language concentrating on the issue of connecting a MacBook Pro to an analogue phono pre amp input ?
Thanks in anticipation of some advice.

Apple TV is the right solution for this.   I'm also a hifi fan who now has a giant itunes library in the cloud... and I wanted to play it through my hifi.
Get Apple TV for $99, and make sure you have an optical cable (avail at Walmart for maybe $10 I bet).  You also need to buy an HDMI cable but it is beside the point for the hifi purpose.
Now my setup is Apple TV with optical out to my very decent (not ultra high end) AV receiver Denon 2802 - which gives me DA conversion AND bass managment.   This goes out to my high end integrated amp using RCA cables from the receiver to the integrated amp.    Now just calibrate the subwoofer using the AV receiver's bass management and I am VERY much in business.  It sounds GREAT.
The receiver acts like a preamp (I keep my integrated with the dial at 12:00 most of the time... sort of like a stand alone power amp with a little gain left over... for TV this powers my fronts and the receiver powers the rest - works very fine).
Now if I want to be a little more purist about the whole thing, I might buy a separate outboard DAC to go between apple TV and my Integrated amp - cutting out the receiver.   I would cut down the signal path a bit.   But I would lose some bass management - I'd have to work harder to integrate my subwoofer using the subwoofer's dials which is tough...or else abandon the sub and play my speakers on large (which in my experience is never best... psychologically it seems best but it does not sound better if you are pretty good at dialing in your sub).
Anyway I probably lost you by talking on too long ... but in short - the Apple TV is perfect for this purpose - at least in my setup.   One of the best $99 I have ever spent.   My CD's are all ripped to itunes and are now nothing more than coasters.  I sit in my chair - toggle to the assigned input on my receiver with the remote, use the receiver's remote for volume control, my macbook pro/iphone/ipad) to choose playlists, and enjoy pretty good hifi with my expensive integrated amp, sub and speakers.
Most of the time, my Apple TV has nothing to do with my TV... ironically.  If I knew ATV would work this well for me I'd have been wiling to pay $250 for it.
    Good luck.

  • Is airport express the best way to play itunes on my stereo on WIRED netwrk

I want to get my itunes to play on my stereo through my wired network. Will aiport express accomplish this?
If it does, is it the best solution to play my itunes on my stereo through a wired network?
I use a windows wired network.
    any help is appreciated.
    FreshD
      Windows XP

I have had this setup for over a year now and it works great. I have an Airport Express connected to my stereo which has a 3 sets of speakers attached to it. My stereo has a set of speakers in the family room, living room and bedroom, each room has its own volume control in the room plus I can turn the speakers on or off from the stereo. This was wired up long before iTunes, since iTunes I no longer use the CD player attached to the stereo. I actually have two Airport Express'. The other one is in my study where my computer is. It is attached to my cable modem via ethernet. I then have a USB laser printer and a pair of powered speakers attached to that Airport Express. I have iTunes set up for multiple speakers, one for the computer, one for the speakers in the study, and one for my stereo with the three sets of speakers attached to it. And it all WORKS GREAT! I can control music from all over my house. I have all my music on an external drive attached to my main computer in my study. I have it set up to share music, so if I am upstairs in my bedroom I can use my laptop to access iTunes. Someday I am going to get another Airport Express and another set of powered speakers and put those in the basement.

  • Play iTunes video through large screen off a Dual 2.5 GHz PowerPC G5

I want to play iTunes videos out through my cpu onto a large screen format. Does not have to be HDTV, any screen will do. I own a digital firewire camera if that would help. Is there a compostie video out on my CPU? Some method to convert it to composite or component video? What about using something from Canopus to convert the signal? Any ideas?
    Thanks.

A replacement card MUST be Mac specific unless you have the know how to hack the ROM to a Mac ROM (flash in a PC first).

  • How Can I play iTunes on my HDTV without Apple TV?

I am looking for an affordable method of playing iTunes on my big screen HDTV. In other words, I just want to mirror whatever is on my iMac screen on my HDTV. So I want ALL the iTunes features like the visualizer, randomizer, etc. to work without a hitch. Some people were saying they can't get the visualizer to work smoothly. And of course I want quality audio so I can utilize the soundbar on my TV to play MP3s.
I do not own an Apple TV device but I own a Google TV device called the Vizio Co-Star.
I was not able to find a Google app to simply mirror what's on my iMac onto my TV screen.
I reseached and found that there are two apps I can purchase -  AirParrot and Reflector. Is this the best way of achieving what I want to do? Do I purchase both of them on my mac or do I need to purchase one of these and install on my Vizio Co-Star?
Is there a better or simpler method? I'm up for suggestions.
    Thank you!
    Steve

It sounds as if you have an iMac that is over five years old, and therefore has a mini-display (instead of Thunderbolt, as found on newer iMacs) port.
Have you considered a mini-display to HDMI cable connection?  Here is one (from the U.S. store):
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/HFQL2VC/A/moshi-mini-displayport-to-hdmi-adapt er-4k?fnode=51
I am certain a Thunderbolt port would transmit audio as well as video.  I think the mini-display port may transmit audio, but I'm not 100% certain.
