How can I play itunes in windows media? I can burn in windows media, but in itunes it says it can't find the device. Please advise.

You will need to launch Windows Media player and import into the library the audio files which are "living" in iTunes. Actually they are in the "My Music" folder of your home on the C: drive.

You don't as far as I know. Windows Media Player is the proprietary player for windows devices, iTunes is the proprietary player for stuff purchased from iTunes.
The only way you can get files to freely transfer between the two programs is if they are not purchased from either service, but are ripped from a CD you own. Downloaded files have DRM (digital rights management) embedded in them that often restricts what you can/can't do.

I Can only answer the second part of you question. If the music you purchased was not Itunes Plus songs then No, you can't play them on the media player or any other player that is avaible. The reason I can't answer the part it's been more than 2 years sense I downloaded any music from itunes & they were free downloads from the pepsi's promotion ran about 2 1/2 years ago & I no longer have those files. But it's Funny I kinda remember being able to play them on Musicmatch

The files that I'm trying to burn come from eMusic, and they are formatted mp3. Recently, (after the iTunes update to 9.2.3?,) they would not drag and drop from iTunes into Toast. From several different discussions I've tried working around this by dragging to the desktop first then dragging and dropping to Toast, going to Toast from a programmer's homemade help window, " iToons," and today, after talking with Apple support, going directly to Toast from my eMusic folder. There is one I managed, that is listenable, but sometimes I have to put it in my car stereo over and over again as it gets ejected with an error code, sometimes, finally it takes it... Some of the recordings on other disks I've burned are not clean - they have white-noise sounds creeping in... I use to have none of these problems. Within iTunes use the add folder to library option available on file menu. Select the folder to add. iTunes will add the file to iTunes library. Depending on settings, iTunes may copy the file to iTUnes folder location.

There is no backup option in iTunes, that was removed years ago.
Backup iTunes and the media on your computer the same way you would any other data on your computer.
External hard drives are a good option, copy the ENTIRE iTunes folder to the external drive.

Make sure the Repeat control is off. Tap to cycle between Repeat Off, Repeat and Repeat Track.
