When you mention 'load' are you referring to the Zen being charged because the USB is plugged in ? If so, there is nothing much you can do. Of course if you have a SD card reader, you can load the songs to the SD card and thus you do not need to plug in your ZEN to the PC when you do that.

Does this mean that there is nothing I can do about the delay? When I think of a delay, I think of maybe 10 seconds. I am having to wait for a minute or more for my audio to switch. While I wait, I have no audio and any audio program hangs. Is there a setting I can change? It seems rather ridiculous that I have to wait so long just to switch from internal speakers to headphones.
It is like this on other Mac machines? Or it is just my iMac? I hate to compare Mac to Windows, but on Windows or Linux computers the switch is instantaneous.

Hey Ehlam Managua, You have tried a different set of headphones, still no joy-- OK. (1st step in trouble shooting completed). Just to be clear the sound still works through the speaker, correct? If so, try quickly plugging / unplugging the headphone jack about 12 times, there is a tiny switch inside the port that may be stuck closed. If so the plugging / unplugging should free it up. If still no joy, have you tried turning your iPod off then turn it back on? If that doesn't work go into Setting>General>Reset then tap Reset All Settings. If still no joy, connect with your computer, make a full set of backups from this iPod to your computer, then Restore to Backup. If still won't work, Restore to New. If still nothing, could be dealing with a hardware issue. Contact your Apple store and set up an appointment to have your iPod evaluated.

The behavior you describe is possible through a few limited applications of which I won't even mention names here, but the "creep" would need access to the device in question for at least 15-20 minutes to load the application, and as well it would show under the Options > Advanced > Applicaitons.
On the same note, I don't like discussions of this nature on the forums because I have seen too many times where the questioner is actually the one trying to find ways to retrieve or "spy" on the other. How can I add my podcasts into an ipod shuffle?

I have an ipod shuffle (4th G). I am trying to listen to my podcats on the go, but I am unable to add them into the ipod.
I tried the automatic function. I also tried creating a playlist and then syncing it to the shuffle. But neither worked. Under the device tab I only have a music option, therefore I can't add podcasts manually either. Does anybody know how to do it?

First time you connect the new iPhone to the Mac iTunes will ask you if you wis to restore data from a backup and if you did it correctly iTunes should suggest you a choice of the 2 iPhones already backedup in that Mac.

no. only "Class Compliant" interfaces meet that criteria. interfaces that aren't require software from the manufacturer to make the interface work on the mac. often when Apple updates the System software, new drivers are needed, and this can take days, weeks, or longer, from some companies, hence my reasoning for wanting a class compliant interface

I am using a fairly old soundboard and want to get sound from the board onto my apple computer. However, this soundboard only has audio inputs and outputs.

You might want to also look into getting an audio interface that can accept the line level outputs from your board (or use the audio interface instead of the board). Either way will sound better than plugging the board directly into the computer (although you could do that with the right cables/adapters), and audio interfaces can be had these days for cheaps:

I'm planning to do music and record with this computer. So far with the pcs I've had, I route my hardware including the mic, to the mixing desk that then through the cd/tape in/out I connect the desk to the soundcard's 4 inputs/outputs. Thing is, I see no inputs/outputs in this machine, I don't even see a soundcard configuration pannel anywhere...can someone help me here?
I was told that the internal soundcard was good enough to do recordings on a pretty good level...but where is this soundcard? Doesn't it have any outputs/inputs? How do you guys connect stuff to it?

I'd stay away from USB interfaces.
I disagree. I've been using a Tascam US-122 for two years and have zero problems. I've recorded albums, music for television, commercials. I do agree not all USB interfaces are created equal, but for the money this one has been getting the job done. My two cents anyway...

Hehe, well let's see... oh yeah!? I got really excited because I bought an adapter at Radio Shack to do the whole convert from /4 to /8 size thing (I'm not sure if those are the sizes... guitar cable to like, headphones), and so I was like "okay, this'll be awesome..."? and took my guitar into my amp, and my amp connected from the... not sure what I had it out of but it wasn't the "right" one... even though it's not even right to do a huge watt amp directly into a sound card. I know, I'm dumb. And then my speakers didn't put out any sound so we had to get a new one. Aaaand... here I am.
I dunno if it supports the whole changing the tasks from like, mic to line in or not. I'll have to check.
