How do I port triggering?

I can't connect ot EA Games servers so I wrote them asking what I should. They told me this:
It is imperative that you contact your router company or internet service provider. Make sure that your router has the latest firmware. After the firmware update make sure that the proper ports are once again opened. Most of the time, firmware updates reset the configuration changes made prior. Also make sure that your NAT setting is at type 1.
The online ports are:
* UDP Ports: 88 & 3074
* TCP Port: 3074
I have updated my firmware but what about the NAT type 1? How and where do I change that? I looked for it on the setup page for the router but couldn't find it.
Online Ports what does this mean?  I looked for this also with no luck please help me so I can play madden online. thanks

well you cannot change the NAT type on the router, however you may try triggering ports on the router... let me know the model and the version no. of the router that you are using..also let me know the firmware version...so that i can tell you step by step...

  • Port triggering and getting to an answer

I'm trying to learn how to do port triggering on my WRT160N.  I believe there is an answer (answer id 344) but I can't find/get to it.  I found a link in the port forwarding FAQ, but when I click on it I get a request for a log in, and when I enter my login info, it says I don't have an account.  any suggestions?

I have a wrt160N with 2 security DVRs behind it.  one set up for port 80 and 8090, the 2nd for port 83 and 9000.  Have single port forwording set for both dvrs (4 entries).
have 2 DDNS , one for each.  but I only can connect to the one with the port83 no matter which DDNS I use..  I can connect to both using their individual internal (192.168) addresses.
using the :80 after the address gets me an error msg site doesn't exist.
thought I would try port triggering to see if it works.
I could connect with the DDNS to the port 80 DVR when it was the only one.  when I added the port 83 DVR I had the problem occur.

  • How to open ports 119 and 443 in my Mac?

I've been trying to use the UseNeXT software with my Mac with no success. I called their support and they told me I need to open the ports 119 and 443. I contact Apple support and they told me that is beyond their scope (???).
Can somebody help me with that? I tried to find it online, but all tutorials that i tried didn't work or are outdated.
    Thanks

    Hi Drew,
It probably depends on the router as to the method used to open the ports.
As I have said elsewhere in the thread the first 1024 ports are open in most router to allow things to work Out of the Box such as Mail (110, 25, 567, 569, 995, 996 and many more ) and web Browsing (port 80 mostly but secure site can use 443) FTP (21 and 22) to name some.
Port Forwarding is one way to open some of the ports for One IP (computer).
Most routers have  table for doing this and this can be limited as to the number of ports included.
This Linksys pic shows how to do it for some as it allows groups based on Start and end ports. However it restricts it to one IP
DMZ is a form of Extreme Port Forwarding that opens all 65535 ports to one IP (Computer)
In both the above cases other computers (IP addresses) are excluded from using the ports.
Port Triggering doe allow multiple computers to access the same Port but requires that you know the lead  - Trigger - port involved for each app.
It is limited by the table size for your particular router.
Same Router in Trigger ports for iChat 3
Most router come with UPnP nowadays.
It is an ON/Off setting that allows the apps on the computer to say which ports are needed and when.
On some you can reduce the time to live  and the Hop amounts.
The ports stay open from a period of normally 30 mins after non use.
    This can be changed.
It also tends to list the number of Hops (the number of devices beyond the UPnP device) that it can be heard.
    My Sky Hub
I have no other router on my network but I do sometimes use Internet Sharing between two computers hence the 2 Hops.
Every other device is only one Hop away from the the router.
There are concerns that the "Advertisement" is seen upstream (internet side) as well as device downstream.
The Concern is that this could be Up to your ISP and then down to the "next" IP end user on the particular router/server at the ISP end.
I have seen no evidence of this being the case.
    Hope this helps.

If you don't know it you can check our list of default router and modem password list here.
If you have changed it and don't remember it you may have to reset your device to factory default using the reset button on most routers.
    Step 3.
Once logged into your router click on "Firewall Settings"
Set the firewall to 'Minimum Security' to allow Inbound connections.

    All done!

  • Don't know how to open ports

    Hello.
Could someone please tell me how to open ports on my LinkSys WRV200 Wireless-G VPN Router.
    Thank you.

Open up internet explorer. On the address bar type the numbers 192.168.1.1 (username is admin, password is admin as well). Go to the Firewall tab. Depending on what kind of port opening you want, you either click on the Port Triggering or Port Forwarding subtab.
If you are hosting a certain program or application, use port forwarding. If you are just simply trying to use and access it, use port triggering.

  • Why is Answer 344 blocked (Port Triggers)

Starting with the Wireless FAQ (top post)
Click to answer 688, What is Port Forwarding
    http://linksys.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/linksys.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=688&p_created=1084219690&p_sid=btIGUT4i&p_accessibility=0&p_lva=358&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PSZwX2dyaWRzb3J0PSZwX3Jvd19jbnQ9MSZwX3Byb2RzPTAmcF9jYXRzPSZwX3B2PSZwX2N2PSZwX3
From that page, AnswerID 344, Port Triggers, reaches an unauthorized page.
    Can you unblock that, please?
It's hard to refer to things on the Linksys web pages because of all these embedded session id tokens in the URL.

Loads for me. I don't understand why it would be related to that other site. Can you think of any reason?
To test how the site works in Firefox without customizations, could you do a two-minute experiment?
    '''Create a new Firefox profile'''
A new profile will have your system-installed plugins (e.g., Flash) and extensions (e.g., security suite toolbars), but no themes, other extensions, or other customizations. It also should have completely fresh settings databases and a fresh cache folder.
Exit Firefox and start up in the Profile Manager using Start > search box (or Run):
    firefox.exe -P
Any time you want to switch profiles, exit Firefox and return to this dialog.
You'll click the Create Profile button. I recommend using the default location suggested (in other words, don't click the button to choose a different folder). Then start Firefox in the new profile you created.
    Does the site load?
When returning to the Profile Manager, you might be tempted to use the Delete Profile button. But... it's a bit too easy to accidentally delete your "real" profile, so I recommend resisting the temptation. If you do want to clean up later, I suggest making a backup of all your profiles first in case something were to go wrong.

  • Port Triggering

    Had trouble woth port triggering....
    WRT54G using latest firmware 8.00.2
I followed the sparse suggestions and info in this forum and across the Linksys website. I was trying to trigger the following ports:
    WoW 3724
    WoW 6112-6119
    Torrent 6881-6999
    AIM 5190-5193
    Command & Conquer 7000-7002
    Command & Conquer 3840
Settings would not save. Get the generic "Settings Have Been Saved" window, click continue, settings actually did not take. How I finally managed to get these settings to save was to give these entries names off the top of my head such as "DLer" and "Conquer" in random slots. I tried different "slots", tried just entering info for triggered ranges, then for forwarded ranges, NOTHING. Fought with this page for over 1 hour to get this router to take what I input. Cleaned my internet cache several times in this process. This feature worked FLAWLESSLY with my still working WRK54G, no problems, saved everything the first time. There seems to be a serious BUG in the firmware of this router. MTU did not matter, router firewall settings did not matter. Of course, putting my PCs IP in the DMZ DID work for these programs. Static IP addresses for the PCs in this building is NOT an option, besides that's what port TRIGGERING is for. Other people have the same problem and nobody so far seems to have a clue. This obvious bug should be looked into and FIXED before I revert back to my WRK54G or even my Belkin router.

    did the firmware go successfully?
try the 30-30-30 reset then reconfigure the router and try the port triggering again.

  • Port triggering on Cisco IOS..?

How can I implement port triggering on Cisco? Any ideas?
I thought to use route-maps, but I see that "ip nat inside source static .."
    have no option route-map :(
    Any other ideas?

You are in the right track.
    It will be:
ip nat inside source static [inside ip] [port] [outside ip or interface] [port]extendable
for instance to forward port 80
ip nat inside source static 192.168.1.1 80 66.125.55.254 80 extendable

  • How to find port number , when there will be different instance number ?

    In case of portal url,
port number is 50000 for default instance number 00.
how to find port number , when there will be different instance number , instead of 00?
    Thanks

    Hi
You can find the port number by your instance number as follows:
There is a general format for the port number like you have mentioned.
For 00 instance the port number is 50000.
The general format for the port number goes like this:
        <b>5<instance_no>00</b>
If your <b>instance number is 01</b> then the port number would be <b>50100</b>.
It depends on the installation type which you perform.
You can also change the instance number during the installation but normally you dont do this.
If you have many components or units installed on your system you may have more than one instance in that case it may go like this 00, 01, 02....accordingly port number will be 50000, 50100, 50200...resp.
    Hope this solves your doubt.
If you need some more clarification please lemme know.
    Regards
      Sumit Jain

  • How can I port my library from one pc to another?

How can I port my music library from my pc to my new windows tablet?

    theres are three ways
clicking on music in itunes, hitting control A on the keyboard to select all on the main list of all songs and then dragging them to an external hard drive. and then dragging them from the external hard drive to your other itunes computer.
im not sure if that works on windows. i know it works on mac
second way is to find the directory of itunes library  and copying that to a external hard drive and then going to your otther computer and clicking on "import library" and giving the location of the directory on the external hard drive
third way is enable home sharing on both computers , by clicking on file, librsry, turn on home sharing and entering your apple id this wil let you go to the itunes server from the other computer, let you select all songs and then import them to your library via your home network . again im not sure if this works on windows, but it does on macs
if i remember right the first way was faster. the second way would also import all your videos and movies and tv shows too
if you use the first or second methods make sure to click on file , organize library, consolodate library after the songs are copied to make sure they were actualy copied from the external drive. if the library is not organized and consolidated, thte songs will not be available if you eject the external drive

  • How do I port my Windows Word, Excel, and Powerpoint files to the MAC?  What software is needed on the MAC to use them?  Thanks.

How do I port my Windows Word, Excel, and Powerpoint files to the MAC?  What software is needed on the MAC to use them?  Thanks.

You can certainly use iWork, though I hesitate to recommend it to a seasoned Windows user simply because it would add another level of the unfamiliar with which you would have to gain familiarity. The iWork applications are certainly very competent and in most respects both easy to use and surprisingly powerful. They are not 100% compatible however, though that typically manifests itself in document formatting issues rather than anything more significant.
I have never attempted to import emails from a Windows system into MacOS - other than in Outlook connected to an Exchange server, thus not really an issue at all. I doubt that the Mail app in MacOS can import directly, but of course you could always set the account(s) up on the Mac and then forward emails you want to keep from the PC. Not elegant, but it works. Virtually any Windows document or file, whichever application created it, can be opened or converted for use on a Mac, and using both systems on my desk each day I rarely see any issues switching stuff from one machine to the other. You may stumble over one or two issues, but likely not significant.
In switching platforms there will be some inevitable issues, not so much with being able to import your stuff because there's usually a workaround or a utility that can help, but just with getting familiar with the platform and the differences between Windows and MacOS that can obscure their similarities. From time to time the support community here hears from a user who has found the migration very problematic and regrets it, but for the most part the phrase 'I should have done this years ago...' is rather more prevalent!

  • How is Idoc MBGMCR triggered/Configured in SRM Extended classic scenario

    Hello All,
In the existing scenario, when confirmation is created in SUS portal, corresponding confirmation gets created in EBP .
Once the confirmation in EBP gets approved ,we want corresponding confirmation creation in backend system (ECC) .
I  thought of using the standard idoc of basic type MBGMCR01 and message type MBGMCR for the above requirement.
But I am unable to find how to configure the triggering of idoc MBGMCR during creation of confirmation in EBP.
If anybody has an idea of message control method in SRM or how is idoc MBGMCR gets triggered, please let me know.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Anuradha,
You would require to set up distribution model , tcode - BD64
SAP NetWeaver  ->Application Server ->IDOC Interface / Application Link Enabling (ALE) -> Modeling and Implementing Business Processes ->Master Data Distribution ->Distribution Using Object Classes ->Model Distribution Using Classes.
Once the distribution model is set up you can assign the message type MBGMCR.
    Hope this helps you.

  • How to stop the triggering of a process task

    Hi
I have one child form details and the correspnding task to add user to the child form is 'add user to details'
When I am provisioning a user i am adding the child form field ,its a multivalued attribute and after the user got created the child values are also populated . But after I have added the task 'add user to details' that is also triggering on the call of create user that i dont want actually . I need that task only to update the child form after the user got provisioned not in the create user scenario. So please tell me how to restrict the triggering of that task during create user
    thanks in advance

    802390 wrote:
    thx for the response
that task is conditional only..the thing is i dont want to trigger that task after create user coz already Im adding the child values with the createUser api so no need to update the child form again with the same values.I wrote the task 'add user to details ' for the further updation of child form ,not at the time of create user
Edited by: 802390 on Nov 22, 2010 1:21 AMYou wanna say that your Create User task is adding roles/groups data in Target Resource itself.
Now you have made another task just to modify child data records.
I'll say that it is wrong. You'll face issues as you are directly inserting data into target without updation of child form which is against Audit and Compliance.
It would be better if you make separate task for Creating User and Adding Multivalued data into target application.
    Anyways,
Add your second task with proper trigger on Child Form like insert/update.
Go to Create User task and remove all dependency which triggers your second task.
