Merging the hints, how does this look?
Showing an image in Apple Discussions requires two things.
    1. The image has to exist and be accessible from a working server somewhere.
    2. Then the image can be referenced in html and will appear in your post.
    1. To achieve the first you need to register on one of the many free web photo hosting sites. An example of one would be Flicker. (If you have your own web site you can of course host your picture there.)
Having taken a snapshot of the thing in question (the image), perhaps by using the Grab application on your Mac, you upload the image to your photo hosting site.
You'll then need to get its URL from the site. It might be easy to see or you might have to read the site's FAQ for those details, as there are differences between sites.
Easier still, if you are using Safari or Firefox right clicking (or Control click with a one button mouse) on the uploaded image will copy the link for you.
It will have a form like this:
    http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2186/24541163585b68ff68b8s.jpg
When you find it, open a new tab in your browser and paste it into it, to check that it displays and is therefore the correct URL for the image.
    2. To add this image to your post here on Apple Discussions, place an exclamation point before and after the link, illustrated as,
    !http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2186/24541163585b68ff68b8s.jpg!
which produces the image in the post.
    An alternate html format is;
    <img src="http://source.address.of.image.jpg"/>

  • How do I copy one image onto another image?

How do I copy one image onto another image?

Lots of ways;  Use the Place command to place a file in another.  Open two files and drag one to the other's window tab, drag an image from bridge onto an open file.  Open an image, press ctrl/cmd-A to select all, the ctrl/com-C to copy the image, the ctrl/cmd-V to paste it into another image.

How can I put an image onto a postcard format?

By postcard format do you mean crop the picture into a postcard shape?
If so, here is one way: Activate the Rectangular Marque tool. Set Style to Fixed Aspect Ratio, and enter the dimensions for Width & Height. In this example I used a standard postcard size of 6" x 4.25".  Open your picture, draw out the rectangle, and Image > Crop. The picture will now be in the 6 x 4.25 proportion.
To get it to the actual 6" x 4.25" size, do Image > Resize > Image Size. Check the Constrain Proportions Box, and enter either the true Width or Height; the other dimension will change accordingly.
If this is not what you are trying to do, please be more specific.

  • How Set Video Poster Frame (Image) for Intro Media?

    iBooks Author Mavens,
How can the Poster Frame (aka, Poster Image) for the Intro Media segment of an iba video be set?
Irrespective of anything I do with the Widget Inspector...such as attempting to move the Poster Frame to a frame at the desired ~7 second point (in a ~10 second clip)...iBA keeps resetting the Poster Frame to ~2.5 seconds (not wanted).
    Very, very frustrating...suggestions?
    Many, many thanks!

If you use a video in any place but intro, will your iBA let you choose and keep any poster frame setting you like?

  • How do I post an image?

I wanted to include an image in a post that I was composing.
According to the Help file there is supposed to be a Gallery where I can upload my images.
And then I believe I should be able to select the image I want and have it (or a link to it)
included in my post. I see the icon above for 'Insert/edit image'. But I could not find
the place where my Gallery was located. According to the Help it should be in my
User Profile and there should be a link to get me there.
Any ideas on where I should look to find the link to allow me to upload an image
    to my Gallery?
    Thanks!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    welcome to the forum!
we don't allow new users the ability to upload to a gallery.   you can, however, upload to a free image hosting site such as tinypic.com or postimage.org and post your image that way.

  • How do I overlay an image onto video

    Hello
I found a tip on how to create a mask in Photoshop, then overlay it onto iMovie. But the example video was so small I could not follow it.
My requirement is that I shoot video of say a computer screen, then I want to make a blurred out portion of the screen image in Photoshop, then overlay it back onto the video footage. I want to do this to blur out any private information, for example a username or password.
    Can anyone help, please?

I want to do this to blur out any private information, for example a username or password.
With iMovie, I would normally do this as a post edit in QT Pro. Simply create your "mask" and layer it over the information you wish to protect. By using the "Add to Selection & Scale" option, you can then set the proper duration automatically, as well as, set the location to "cover" the exact area needed. Would assume this might also be possible in iMovie, but would require a PNG with "Alpha" channel to be dropped on your original clip and then manually adjusting the duration and would still likely require QT Pro to set the proper alpha-channel "mask" option later. Assume ther may be other ways to do this.

  • How to post my images to Instagram?

I am new. How to I post my images from Photoshop Touch  to Instagram? How do I save my images to my personal device's photo gallery? And how do I email my photo to an email recipient?

    In order:
If the Instagram app is installed, it should be a simple matter of exporting the PS Touch project to the appropriate format that Instagram supports (like JPEG). In Android, in PS Touch's project file UI, you tap the "export" icon (5th icon from the upper right) > Share and then choose Instagram the app to export to.
The second question's answer is similar, with the exception of "Save to Gallery" (on Android; forgot what it was on iOS) instead of "Share".
The third question's answer is also similar to the first, with the exception of sharing to your email app of your choice instead of an app like Instagram.

  • Single page design - how to load images onto page

    Hello,
Take a look at the site http://www.blacktie.es/ I'm trying to learn how they load the larger images onto the page.
When you click on the button — the website loads the large project images above — how is this being done. Is this being done with PHP? Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks... but the thing the http:// link does not change when you click/hover on the thumbnail in this example.
Which example?   When you are directed to a particular solution, don't ever expect the solution to work out of the box.  You need to modify or even adapt it to suit your own circumstances.  There is no such thing as silver bullet when it comes to web design solutions.
I don't understand your question so I have nothing to add here.
    Good luck.

  • How to place an image onto each page

    Hi !
How do I place an image onto each page (like a logo in a sidebar) using Pages 5.5 ?
    Thanks,
    Karsten

    Karsten,
I am surprised no one has answered you yet - there are so many Pages users here.
I am not a Pages user but I did find one way here on this thread in an answer from Arno Jannarelly
insert image to header in Pages, template header
"If you want any layout item to be repeated to all of the pages of your document, you just have to select the item(s), then go to Arrange/Section Masters/Move Object to Section Master.
The good thing of this is that you can repeat any item or group of items placed anywhere you want on the page."
Now when I first tried it I had no luck, until I selected the image and went to Arrange > Section Masters from the main menu, not on the right hand side from the Format/Document area.
From there there is an option: Move Object to Section Master.
You then can format your image with drop shadows, opacity, etc. and it should be there on new pages in Pages.

  • Dragging One Image Onto Another

The book, Photoshop Layers, by Kloskowski, starts the subject of Masks on p. 94 by telling the reader to open two images, then use the Move tool to drag one onto the other so that they are in the same document.
A picture of what that should look like shows, in the Layers palette, image A in the Background layer, and image B residing in Layer 1. Each thumbnail shows an entire image (not a checkered thumbnail with a small image within it).
As the title indicates, the book is designed for Photoshop users. I use Elements 6 but have been able to perform most of the tutorials; however, the above instructions baffle me. I cannot fathom what he is talking about.
In Elements 6, How can I drag one image onto the other? I start out with two images in the bin - and the move tool does not work on bin images. I have tried various workarounds but the results do not look like the Layers palette picture he shows. For instance: File/New/Blank File does not work.
As to my level of knowledge: I am very comfortable with layers of all sorts and understand/use them. I am also familiar with Elements. So, if you will, assume I am not a neophyte, even though my question may seem very basic.

Normally this won't matter, but there are situations where it does change what you bring in; like rasterizing an EPS file, for instance. In full PS, it creates smart objects from the files you use the command on.
A text layer, for example, is no longer editable after being placed. But for most images, I suppose it would be okay.

  • How to project an image onto a background image?

    Hi,
I am looking for help with projecting an image over another image.
I am looking for a similar effect to the image above where it looks like the image of the player as (physically) been projected onto the tunnel.
Looking closely at the detail of the image you can see that the projection adjusts to the contours of the tunnel i.e. over the framing. This is what I specifically need some help with. I know how to overlay an image onto another using different layers but it doesn't really give a three-dimensional perspective and looks rather flat.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
    Ravi.

    Hi Ravi -
Could you post what you have done so far, and include your expanded layers panel? The source images would also be helpful, if possible!
One thing you could try is creating a Displacement Map of your background tunnel image and then wrapping your overlay image to it. The video tutorial below shows you how to do this:
Beside this, you might just have to spend time tweaking your image to create a realistic overlay. This includes adjusting lighting, but also distorting your overlay image. Have you tried using Edit > Transform > Perspective to align your image to the tunnel? The other Transform tools like Distort and Warp might also come in handy.
I'm looking forward to helping you with this effect!
    Cheers,
    Kendall

If the image is on another server then we prefer to have a link instead of the real image in case it is a large image and we've already seen it or do not want to wait for it to load (server may be slow).
I do not know what any of this means.
I have a single laptop connected to the internet.
So far I have worked out how to upload an image to a thread-reply by copying the uploaded file "path" and pasting it onto the reply
and then after the reply is posted there are two incidence of each image
    1. the URL
    2. the image at the bottom of the reply
I am a newbie so would appreciate any feedback
