I have transfered a song from my desktop to my ipad. it is saved in my "music" app on bottom of home pagee. IF I wanted to send this song to a friend over facebook.. hhow would I do that?

How to sync just selected songs to iPad with iOS 5?

I have a lot of music in my iTunes account, acquired from CDs, the iTunes store, etc. and I don't listen to all of it regularly (I like to change it up from time to time); however, I like having it saved digitally on my computer; but, i don't want it all on my iPad or iPhone all the time, I only want the songs selected under my music list to be synced to my device.
My iPad is using iOS 5, my iPhone is using iOS 4.3.5.
Under 4.3.5, when I select "Entire Music Library" under Sync Music in iTunes, it only adds the seleceted sonds to my iPhone. However, under iOS 5, it wants to add everything to my iPad which is just too much.
So, how do I get just the selected songs in my library to upload to my device using iOS 5?

I'm currently using a play list but it is not the same as in iOS 4. The options will not work how I want either as it doesn't let me choose just the songs I want (which would be cumbersome but would work); I either have to select the artist (getting all of their songs loaded whether I want them or not), genres, playlists, or albums. I really only want certain songs at a time; even with the playlist seleceted and synced, albums & songs not in that playlist are still showing up in my Music app on the iPad. This is part of the reason I haven't updated my iPhone to iOS 5, I like the convienence of the iPod app in iOS 4 (which was removed in iOS 5 unfortunately) and uploading my entire library would be more than my iPhone has room.

From your iPod, go to
Settings -> Music -> Show All Music
Switch the Show All Music switch off
so that only the music you've downloaded onto your device will be shown.
Note :
Music that has played from purchased will be downloaded.
Settings > general > usage > music and swipe to delete all music from your iPhone 4. After that it should no longer show up when "show all" is turned off.

How do I delete a song from iPad mini? It keeps showing up and I tried all of the suggestions given by this forum. Turning on/off, deleting all music, synching back the music I want. I even was on a chat with Apple support for half-hour and thought the issue was solved but lo and behold, all the music I wanted to delete came back!! Help!!!!

If you swipe the song left and right does a Delete or Remove button appear. If so tap the button.
If the song shows a cloud icon by it that mean you purchased it and it is not on the iPad. If you tap the cloud icon it will download. To only show songs downloaded to the iPod go to Settings>iTunes and App Store and turn off SHOW ALL.
Otherwise, what are you doing when the songs come back? Are you syncing?

So I recently purchased a MacBook Pro. Before that though, I had a windows laptop and an iPad mini. The iPad mini was synced to the windows laptop, which broke. I then set up an iTunes account for my Mac with the same apple ID as I'd previously used, and made purchases on the iTunes Store on my Mac.
Basically, I am now stuck with my songs which I had on my iPad before purchasing the Mac which I cannot get onto my Mac and I am stuck with purchases on my MacBook which I cannot transfer to my iPad. I have not synced my iPad to the library yet, although I have authorised the MacBook. Some of the songs on my iPad were not purchased on the iTunes Store either, but I do not want to lose them.
Any ideas on how to sync my iPad with my MacBook without losing anything?

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself independently backed up against loss. To use a device with a new computer you transfer the content from the old computer (or its backup) directly to the new computer, not the device to the new computer. Media syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. Connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes and you should be able to copy iTunes purchases off the iPad to your computer via File > Transfer Purchases (File > Devices > Transfer Purchases on iTunes 11). If any of the music wasn't purchased from iTunes and you don't have it on your computer nor on a backup then you will need to find a third-party program which copy them over - there are some listed half-way down this page.
You may also want to copy photos and any important documents off the iPad as well e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc - they should be included in the backup, but it's best to have a copy of them outside of the backup just in case. You can then force a backup of the iPad by right-clicking the iPad 'Device' on the left-hand side of iTunes and selecting 'Backup'.
