How do I prevent unchecked songs playing on my i phone?

I have songs which I would like to keep in my library but not listen to regularly on my I phone, therefore they are unchecked. However they still play. There is a cloud icon next to these songs. How do I prevent them from playing without deleting them entirely?

To only see the songs that have been downloaded to your iPhone, go to Settings > Music and toggle off Music. By default it is turned on and you will see all your purchases that you have made, regardless of them actually being downloaded. Take a look at the article below for more information.

This may sound ridiculous but how do you stop a song playing ?

I can play a song, pause a song, shuffle and many other things but I can not find any function that just stops it altogether!
In video you press the "done" button but no such thing appears in music - am I going mad?!

I think that the "Close" just means "make this little music window go away now," not "Close down the music app." At least, that's how it's always worked for me (before and after the upgrade). If you are playing music and doing something else and bring up that music window on top of what you're doing, you still need to hit pause in order to stop the music.
If you hit pause and the "Now Playing" arrow is still up, it doesn't really mean much except that you can easily get back to what you were playing if you go back into your music. Your music isn't still playing. It's just holding your place. That's how I think of it, at least.

How to see lyrics for song playing?

I've got lyrics entered in most of the songs in my iTunes library. I notice that on my iPad 1, when I play a song on the iPod app, I see the cover image but no lyrics. A found a web page that said I'd see the lyrics if I tapped the cover image, but that brings up a different thing - a black background with some meta-data on the song. What's the right way to get a lyrics display on the iPad?

My iPhone 4 no longer plays some songs since iOS5 update, how can i get these songs playing again

So ever since I installed iOS5 onto my iPhone 4, some of my music wont play (not all, but some), what will happen is, while on shuffle, my music will play a song normally, then get to a song that it for some reason cannot play and either
a) plays another song, without changing the information about the song, then when the second song is finished playing under the first song's name, it gets to the second song's actual information and stops playing and moves to option b
b) does not play the song, does not skip the song, but has the play icon in the corner next to the battery, but it doesn't show any time going by on the progress bar of the song, but drains my battery
when i shake my iPhone after this (i.e. activates the automatic shuffle) if it happens to land on a song it can play, it skips to the next song.
It is incredibly inconvienient, and i understand that a new operating systems do have bugs, but I would like to be able to fix it as soon as possible

I found a solution recently, (and well, this is the only apple product I own, so i didn't think to post it) basically what you do is follows
when your iphone is plugged in and you have itunes open, go to the phone page, then to the music page, select sync with library, but then select certain playlists. After that select none of the playlists (removing the music from your phone) and sync, then sync again with the playlists you want selected, and voila! Takes an hour or 2, but you can do it in the background of whatever else you are doing.

How do I shazam a song playing over airplay?

So I use a bluetooth dongle to play my music in my car, and if I'm using an app such as DI radio, Spotify, Pandora, etc. And I try to shazam a song, Shazam kicks off the original audio and the music only comes back after quitting shazam. Is this an issue with Airplay? Shazam? Maybe Shazam is being recognized as an audio app instead of jsut using the microphone?
However, when I plug my phone in directly via AUX, I can Shazam a song while its playing through an app totally fine, thats why Im thinking it's an Airplay issue.
Is there anyway to have both? Request it from Apple/Shazam?

How do I prevent animation from playing until visible on screen?

I have multiple pieces on animation elements on my site. I'd like the animations to play when the user has scrolled to that postion on the page and not beforehand. Right now, page loads, user is at the top of the page and all animations load and start playing. By the time I scroll down, the animations have ended.

From here, you can set the autoplay to false and then start the animation using AdobeEdge.* APIs when it's appropriate.

How do I prevent a song from being added to iTunes from an iPhone?

Ok this is kind of a strange question. I recently bought a song from iTunes, but I don't want it in my library or on any of my devices anymore. I delete it from the library, however when I sync with my iPhone (which has the song on it for some reason) the song is appears back in my library again. The song is not part of the playlist that I sync with my phone, so it must have been downloaded onto the phone when I made the purchase. This is beginning to get very frustrating. Does this have something to do with the Cloud? I just want to completely remove the song so that I don't see it anywhere.

If you are using iOS 5 on your phone, launch the music app, tap songs at the bottom to show the list of songs. Find the song you want to delete and swipe your finger across it, then tap the red delete button that appears.
Also, delete it from your iTunes library before you sync again.

How can I prevent Aperture from playing slideshow when hitting the play button on the keyboard?

I am getting a bit frustrated by the fact that the play button on the keyboard, which I use all the time for controlling audio playback in iTunes and now Spotify, is assigned to starting the slideshow in Aperture. Playing a slideshow is something I never use, and is something that causes the beachball of death to appear every time. It does not make sense to me that the slideshow overrules the audio playback in iTunes. Help is much appreciated...

In Aperture the keyboard shortcuts are defined in the Command Editor.
To open the Command Editor, go to the Aperture menu -> Commands -> Customize
and in the search field enter "slideshow". Remove or replace the key binding you find there, if it is the one you want to use in iTunes.

I want to change the order of songs in a particular album in my general music library. I tried changing the track number, but it does not seem to do anything. Any help?

Changing the track numbers should be enough IF the Album and Artist or Album Artist fields are identical for each track.

How do I prevent mp3 songs from having their tail-ends cut off in the slideshow-creator?

I don't have this problem with wma files. When I play any of these mp3 music files in Windows Media Player, I get the whole thing. So I'm guessing Photoshop Elements 7 has trouble playing nicely with mp3. I have a favorite-movies slideshow with movie themes in the background. All the files are mp3. If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
