How do I print 3x5 postcards on HP Photosmart 6520

The printer says it can handle printing 3x5 postcards,

but I find nowhere that explains where or how you put them in to the print to print them

The 6520 has a photo paper/index card tray, it sit under the output tray (the top cover of the full size paper tray), you access it by flip down the front piece of the paper tray and lift the top cover, the photo paper tray can be pulled outward for loading paper. I did notice there are marks for 4x6 and 5x7. I didn't see a 3x5, but I would suggest try load as 5x7, i.e. landscape/sideways. When you print, select 3x5 paper size, and landscape mode.

Font size when printing from Safari to HP Photosmart 6520 printer

I just bought a Macbook Pro 13 inch, running OSX 10.9.5. When I try to print something from within a Safari web page to my HP PhotoSmart 6520 printer, the font is huge. Does anyone know how to adjust the font size for use with Safari. The font size seems to be ok when I print from Pages, for example. So I m thinking the issue may be limited to printing from Safari.

Welcome to the HP Support Forums and thank you for the private message. I understand that you are getting an error message when trying to print some pictures from a memory card that were downloaded from Facebook.
I have included the HP Photosmart 140 Series User Guide. On page 30 it lists the image file formats that are supported and it lists only JPEG Baseline for JPEG image files. On page 31 it lists the different supported Memory Cards. Please check the file type and the card type to ensure they meet the specifications.

How to turn on printables with eprint on Photosmart 6520 all in one?

I just got a new printer I'm trying to set up and I keep getting nowhere fast! It says it's online and enabled but it won't print! I got a message to turn on printables but have no idea what that is or how to turn it on??? Please help????

Hi jamieleesummers. Printables are content that you can access from the front of your printer's display screen. One example; my daughters have the Disney app installed and they can go to the front of my printer and pick a coloring page, or craft without using my computer.

Trouble with printing on Windows XP for Photosmart 6520

Ok, I downloaded the drivers on the my old desktop that runs windows XP printed a test page no problems. Went to print a regular page off of Office Word. Hangs in the printer spooler doesn't printer. Anyone got any ideas what is causing this problem. I have delated the old printer off the desktop.

HP Photosmart 6520 - shows offline and has stopped rotating printing for short-edge binding

I have suddenly had some issues with my HP Photosmart 6520 printer. I use a wireless connection with my Macbook Pro (OSX 10.9.5)
First problem is that the printer icon in the dock has recently shown to be offline/not connected. The printer would print pages of documents in the computer (Open Office stuff) but would not print material direct from a web browser. Now (a few days later) it showed to be offline and wouldn't print anything.
I should point out that the printer device list in System Preferences shows two different entries: one is "HP Photosmart series 6520" (listed as offline) - and the second is "Photosmart 6520 series (FDA82D)" (listed as idle).
The first ("HP Photosmart series 6520") had been ticked as the default printer. I then ticked "Photosmart 6520 series (FDA82D)" to change the default printer.
Then I noticed, when I used the Print command for a document, that the printer list in the Print dialogue box showed that it had a tick against the "HP Photosmart series 6520" printer. When I changed this to the ("Photosmart 6520 series (FDA82D)" printer, the machine printed my document. But the next time I opened the print command, the tick was once again next to the "HP Photosmart series 6520" printer.
The printers listed in the Print dialogue box have small icons to their left. The "HP Photosmart series 6520" has a wavy line inside a circle and the "Photosmart 6520 series (FDA82D)" has an exclamation mark inside a triangle.
The second problem is that the printer is no longer rotating the second page when I am printing two-sided and choose "short edge binding" in layout. It now prints out exactly the same as when "long edge binding" is selected (default). The result is that the second page is printed upside down in relation to the first page. This problem has never previously occurred.
So far I have tried paracetamol and scotch but neither seems to solve these problems. Not sure if I should try them together!
Sorry this is so long-winded - I'm trying to include as much detail as possible to make it all clear from the start.

Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having a few issues when it comes to printing from your mac as well as some two sided printing issues.
I do have a some suggestions that we can try in the attempt to troubleshoot this issue.
First off, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
Please remove the usb cable (if using wireless, disregard this step) from the printer and from the Mac and leave it disconnected until further notice.
Please click on the first link that will give you instructions on Uninstalling the Printer Software.
Once the software has been removed, please disable any anti virus protection that you may have on the Mac.
The next step we are going to take is downloading the HP Photosmart 6520 e-All-in-One Printer Full Feature Software and Drivers - OS X 10.9 Mavericks.
The installation will prompt you when to connect the usb cable (You will see a prompt for a wireless connection as well if that is the connection type you would like to use) so please do not connect the cable until prompted to do so.

Photosmart 6520 clogged print head

I tried an ink cartridge refill service and I think I have clogged up the black print head on my hp Photosmart 6520. The 'clean print head' tool has proven ineffective after numerous tries. Is there any way to remove and manually clean the print head on this device. The black ink us not printing at all. Thank you for any help.

The document here may help resolve the issue. The printhead in the Photosmart 6520 is not removable.
Be aware that damage caused to the printer caused by third party ink is not covered by HP warranty.

Thank you for this link! Actually I installed a brand new Windows 8 system in January 2014 and then bought the HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus printer a few days later. To install this printer I did not use the CD that came with it but already used this link. Just to be sure that I have the latest version I again reinstalled the driver. The result is definitive: You cannot print common photo paper sizes like 4x6, 5x7, 8x10, etc. via a PC using photo SW like HP Photo Creations, MS Gallery, Windows Photo Viewer or any other SW on a HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus. The reason is most likely that HP marketing decided that an Officejet should not be smart enough for photos, after all the company sells also Photosmarts. Because you cannot create your own formats you are limited by the driver to what is typically available in an office, in this case: A4, Letter, legal, Statement, Executive, A4, A5, A6, B54 (JIS), Envelopes #10-DL-C5-C6-A2-Monarch, Japanese Postcard, Japanese Envelope Chou #3-#4, L, 2L, O**bleep**u hagaki, Index Card Letter-A4, Edge-to-Edge Letter-A4, Env. Japanese No 3-No 4 and that's it, not more. Thank you anyway for trying to help me but in this case only the SW developers in HP can help.It would be great to be able to print from time to time a 4x6 photo on this printer like I would do.Copying photos on a USB stick or on a SD card first and then use this way to print on the printer is too cumbersome for me.

Printing on Postcards

I have just written a book and would like to include personalized postcards with book mailings to targeted prospects. the postcard in question is 5x8 in size and is pre-printed with a glosssy sheen image-driven front side and blank uncoated back side. I want to be able to print on the back side. How do I set my printer up to take individual 5x8 postcards and print on the blank uncoated side? I have an Officejet G85 and work in Windows 8.1. Any direction you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

I understand that you would like to print postcards from your Windows 8.1 computer to your HP Officejet g85 All-in-One Printer. I would like to assist you today with this. Now, due to the age of your HP Officejet you are relying solely on a built in generic Windows Update driver to use your printer. Therefore, we are at the mercy of what the generic driver offers for your paper type options when printing on postcards. I did look into the media specifications for your printer and found that the card size of 5 x 8 in is supported. Therefore, your printers hardware can handle the size that you're trying to print.
The specifications for your printer can be found here.
To load the media in your printer, please open the paper tray door and then pull towards you to extend the paper tray.
Gently pull out the paper tray extender, and then lift up the paper catch
Slide the paper width guides to their outermost position
Load your postcards in the paper tray with the side you want printed on face down. According to the specifications of your printer if the paper weight is between 16-24 pounds you can load up to 150 sheets in the input tray. If the weight is 24-110 pound 45 sheets can be loaded in the input tray at one time.
Adjust the paper guides until they rest against the edges of your postcards
Push the input tray forward until it clicks into place. Make sure that you push in the tray all the way.

Once you have your paper loaded, please open up the document you wish to print on your computer. Select File and Print. In the Print dialogue window click Preferences or Properties. Check under the Paper/Quality options that the 5 x 8 in size of paper is selected. Click Print.
There should be no issues with printing on the uncoated side of the postcards. However, there is a chance that the glossy backside of the postcards may cause the cards to 'slip' while being fed into the paper path. It will be a matter of trial by error to verify if your machine will actually feed the glossy finish properly into your machine.

How do you print envelopes?

Hi,
How do you print envelopes using TextEdit? I can print normal documents from TextEdit but envelope would be formatted differently. I am able to print from MS Word on my laptop but is there something in TextEdit like there is in MS Word that allows you to select envelope printing?
