How do I print exact photo sizes?

I need to print photos exactly 5x7 and 8x10.  The old ZoomBrowser had settings to do that.  Now they've vanished, and using the Image Garden to print two bordered prints per letter size page gives me 51/2 x 8 photos.  I can't find anything in the manual about printing exact sizes, either.
I love the colors on the Pixma 100, but find using the new software very frustrating.  I wish you'd just left a good thing alone.  Is there some easy way to print exact sizes?

Hi cabrosh,
Please try printing with Easy-PhotoPrint EX.  It can be downloaded by following these steps:
 1.  Visit Canon's website at:    http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer
 2.  Type PIXMA PRO-100 in the "Enter Your Model Name" box and click GO.
 3.  On the Support page for your unit, click the 'Drivers & Software' link in the middle of the page.
 4.  Click Software.
 5.  Click on Easy-PhotoPrint EX.
 6.  If you agree, please select the checkbox next to "I have read and agree to the terms of the Disclaimer and wish to continue with the download".
 7.  Click on the Download button.
 8.  The file will be downloaded to your Downloads folder.
 9.  Once the download is complete, close all windows.
10.  Double click the file that you just downloaded in your Downloads folder.  Files will extract.
Follow the prompts and installation will complete.
Once installed, please try printing 5" x 7" and 8" x 10" photos using that program.

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
    - What version of iPhoto.
    - What version of the Operating System.
    - Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
    - History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
    - What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
    - Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

How do I print panoramic photos on an HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus printer?

Thank you for this link! Actually I installed a brand new Windows 8 system in January 2014 and then bought the HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus printer a few days later. To install this printer I did not use the CD that came with it but already used this link. Just to be sure that I have the latest version I again reinstalled the driver. The result is definitive: You cannot print common photo paper sizes like 4x6,  5x7, 8x10, etc. via a PC using photo SW like HP Photo Creations, MS Gallery, Windows Photo Viewer or any other SW on a HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus. The reason is most likely that HP marketing decided that an Officejet should not be smart enough for photos, after all the company sells also Photosmarts. Because you cannot create your own formats  you are limited by the driver to what is typically available in an office, in this case:  A4, Letter, legal, Statement, Executive, A4, A5, A6, B54 (JIS), Envelopes #10-DL-C5-C6-A2-Monarch, Japanese Postcard, Japanese Envelope Chou #3-#4, L, 2L, O**bleep**u hagaki, Index Card Letter-A4, Edge-to-Edge Letter-A4, Env. Japanese No 3-No 4 and that's it, not more. Thank you anyway for trying to help me but in this case only the SW developers in HP can help.It would be great to be able to print from time to time a 4x6 photo on this printer like I would do.Copying photos on a USB stick or on a SD card first and then use this way to print on the printer is too cumbersome for me.

That photo size is not supported by AirPrint. Here is a link to AirPrint FAQs for your model of printer. Click the plus size next to the Question " What paper and media sizes are supported? There is states that the photo tray is the default setting. I hope that this helps.

You'll need to open it with another app that can print just the photo.  Command (right) - click on the photo in the email and select Open With and then select Preview.  From Preview you can print just the photo.
Or any other application that you would prefer.

You need to reinstall iPhoto. To reinstall iPhoto delete the current application and, on all Macs with Snow Leopard or earlier installed, all files with "iPhoto" in the file name with either a .PKG or .BOM extension that reside in the:
    HD/Library/Receipts folder (10.5 and earlier)
    or from the /var/db/receipts/  folder (10.6) .
Deleting receipts is not necessary if your Mac came with Lion or later preinstalled.
Then install iPhoto from the source it came from originally.

It if you have an older version of Elements, you can use a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer to do this task. Reduce Saturation to 0% in the Hue/Saturation dialog, then paint using black paint on the mask to bring back desired color area(s).

  • How do I print a photo in a particular size?

Just got my mac about 6 weeks ago and I'm having my first "i want to rip my hair out" experience. On my PC, this happened once a week, so progress at least.
Here's the question: I want to print a photo in a much smaller size than it is imported into iPhoto in. For instance, I would like to print a photo in about a 3x5 size on a 4x6 paper out of a photo I have in iphoto. I can not figure out how to do this. It seems it should be easy . . .
    Thanks.

First crop the photo to the 3 x 5 ratio. Then when you go to print select 4x6 paper and a custom print size of 3 x 5. That will get you what you want.

I want to print multiple pictures on one paper. How can I do that from iPhoto? If I select multiple photos they are printed on separate pages.

Select the photos and click print - select the printer, paper size and print size (be sure that they will physically fit on the paper) and click customize - on the resulting page click on the settings icon - the gear looking thingy at the bottom - and in the selection window set print multiple photos on a page - the preview should reflect this change - and click print again to continue

  • How do I print 4x6 photos on an HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus via Windows Photo Viewer or Gallery

Dear Experts, I've got an HP Officejet Pro 8600 printer with just one paper tray in which I loaded 4x6 photo paper.
The printer was purchased in January 2014, the latest drivers are installed. Now I would like to print a single 4x6 photo using Windows Photo Viewer or Gallery.I loaded the 4x6 photo paper  into the tray as indicated by the little icon labeled 4x6in, so I suppose I got the HW part right. It's just the SW part which gives me a hard time. The available paper size options in Windows Photo Viewer and Gallerydon't include photo paper sizes, just the standard paper and envelope sizes.Hence I checked in the HP Printer Assistant in "Set Preferences" what kind of paper sizes are available, and there is exactly the same list as proposed by Gallery, missing photo paper sizes. So I guess Gallery just picks the sizes from the driver and ther are no photo paper sizes. This is an issue because I prefer to print from my PC using Win 7 or Win 8 and not from a SD card or a USB stick. Any help is very welcome, thank you in advance!

  • Print many photos, sizes in one page?

I would like to print three photos, different sizes (2x2), (3x5), (5x5) in the same paper sheet. How do I do this? Thanks

    Susan:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Pages, part of iWork 09, is a very easy way to do what you want. Just open a blank page, drag the photos you want into it, resize to the size you want, place on the page and print. Another application, in demo mode, is OmniGraffle. In demo mode you can work with up to 10 photos per page. I created this 96 photo poster, 20 x 30", with it. It works like Pages: drag, drop, resize, place and print.
Any image editor that can handle layers, like Photoshop Elements, Pixelmator or GraphicConverter, can do what you want but with a tgad more effort. Another application is Portraits & Prints for Mac.

  • How Do I print on Cardstock - size 4.7" x 7.8"

I am trying to print wedding invitations and the the paper type should be set to Cardstock or Heavyweight. Neither of these options are in this printer's list for the paper type. Are these paper types configurable in another way to be used on this printer?

Afternoon , I may be able to help you with printing your invitations with your Officejet Pro 6830. PLEASE NOTE: This is not guaranteed to work from Windows, it usually ends up being a limitation of the operating system presets. I found these documents that may offer additional assistance;Creating Custom Paper SizesChanging Print Settings in Windows 8 Plus these instructions from the User Guide for your printer;Print on special and custom-size paperIf your application supports custom-size paper, set the size in the application before printing the document. If not, set the size in the printer driver. You might need to reformat existing documents to print them correctly on custom-size paper.  To set up custom sizes (Windows)1. Depending on your operating system, do one of the following:● Windows 8.1 and Windows 8: Point to or tap the upper-right corner of the screen to open the Charms bar, click the Settings icon, click or tap Control Panel, and then click or tap View devices and printers. Click or tap the printer name, and click or tap Print server properties. ● Windows 7: From the Windows Start menu, click Devices and Printers. Select the printer name, and select Print server properties. 2. Select the Create a new form check box.  3. Enter the name of the custom size paper.  4. Enter the dimensions of the custom size in the Form description (measurements) section.  5. Click Save Form, and then click Close.  To print on special or custom-size paper (Windows) NOTE: Before you can print on custom-size paper, you must set up the custom size in the Print Server Properties.1. Load the appropriate paper in the tray. For more information, see Load paper.  2. From the File menu in your software application, click Print.  3. Make sure your printer is selected.  4. Click the button that opens the Properties dialog box. Depending on your software application, this button might be called Properties, Options, Printer Setup, Printer Properties, Printer, or Preferences. NOTE: To set print settings for all print jobs, make the changes in the HP software provided with the printer. For more information on the HP software, see Printer management tools.  5. On the Layout tab or Paper/Quality tab, click the Advanced button.  6. In the Paper/Output area, select the custom size from the Paper Size drop-down list.  NOTE: If you change the Paper Size ensure that you have loaded the correct paper and set the paper size on the printer control panel to match. 7. Select any other print settings that you want, and then click OK. 8. Click Print or OK to begin printing.  The above document doesn't have screen shots on how to adjust the paper settings in the print driver. But I found Printing and Changing Print Settings (Windows) with images. I copied them here for you; On your computer, open the document or photo that you want to print, click File, and then click Print. From the print dialog window, click Properties.
NOTE: Depending on your software application, this button might be called Properties, Options, Printer Setup, Printer Properties, Printer, or Preferences.Select the Paper/Quality tab. From the Paper Source drop-down menu, select the paper tray.
    Figure : Paper Source
From the Media drop-down menu, select your paper type.
NOTE: This may take some experimenting - try different ones until you find one that works. If there is an HP Advanced Photo Paper - try it first.
    Figure : Media drop-down menu
To choose the paper size, click Advanced.
From the Paper/Output selection, open the Paper Size drop-down menu.
Figure : Paper Size drop-down menu ** You should be able to select the one you have created.
Please let me know if any of these steps resolved your issue, or if there is anything else I can do to help.  I look forward to hearing from you!  Thanks,
