How do I print my iCal (Mountain Lion 10.8.5) in 5x7 format?

How do I print my iCal (Mountain Lion 10.8.5) in a 5x7 format? 5x7 is not listed as an option in the print menu.

For custom print sizes, see the software called Clickbooks: http://www.bluesquirrel.com/products/cbmac/
I would ask them if what you want is possible before purchasing.  A customer of mine got it to make many other custom formatted pages.   Don't have them anymore, but they I'm sure could tell you if it is possible.  Be sure to also indicate your printer model.

  • Need new all-in-one printer compatible w/Mountain Lion

I upgraded my MBP to Mountain Lion a few months ago, and I'm having a printer crisis.  I have a Canon MP500 which does a very nice job printing photos, documents and copying, but the scanning feature won't work with Mountain Lion. I contacted Canon and they indicated that they would not be upgrading the drivers for that printer to support Mountain Lion.
In addition, I have an old (make that really old) HP multi-purpose device that I kept just for faxing, but that finally broke down yesterday.
So, since I have to replace the scanner and need fax capability, I would like to get one device that will do everything.  It's important that it prints photos well, but I don't have room for a large machine.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

I've got an Epson NX530 that works nicely over Wireless. I've never directly connected it.
The NX are the home/consumer versions and they have some slightly more expensive home office/small business versions that use the same mechanisms.
I don't think any of the front panel buttons work (except Copy), but I can scan from Image Capture which I prefer over any of the bundled scan utilities I've ever had. I think my wife scans using the Epson software and has never asked me how to use it.
I really don't print that much, so I can't comment on the economics of ink usage.

  • How do I download Safari for Mountain Lion?

How do I download Safari for Mountain Lion? It's not in the App Store, it is nowhere on the Apple website . . . OK, so I guess it is supposed to be part of Mountain Lion, but I am running Mountain Lion and whatever version of Safari I ended up with would not even run at all . . .  so I trashed it (or at least what part of it I was allowed to trash) and though reinstalling it would be a good idea . . . but I can't find one to reinstall. The latest version I can find is for Leopard, and of course that won't run.
Not to mention that since getting Mt Lion, iPhoto won't run . . . it produces an error message saying I need to check with the developer to make sure it runs with this version of OS X! So I wonder who the developer of iPhoto is, who produces software that is incompatible with Mt Lion???
And even in submitting this there is no option to tag it for any OS later than 10.7.4!!

Since Safari is crashing, post a crash report...   reinstalling the OS X rarely helps a browser crash issue.
If Safari has just crashed, press the Report button on the CrashReporter dialog box to view the crash  information.
Copy/paste the entire contents of the Crash Reporter window into your reply. If the crash report dialog does not appear or the crash is hard to reproduce, crash logs can be retrieved from the ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter> folder.
Please include the "binary images" section...

MacBook upgrade possibilities - https://discussions.apple.com/message/19577869 - "The Early 2006 model 1,1 Core Duo can only run a maximum of 10.6 Snow Leopard. The models Late 2006 Core 2 Duos 2,1 through Early 2008 4,1 can only run a maximum of 10.7 Lion. The Late 2008 model 5,1 Aluminum Unibody through the Mid 2010 White Unibody model 7,1 can run 10.8 Mountain Lion."
Why?  Good question.  I am a strong believer in not upgrading just because something new comes out, especially if you are running older equipment.  I would say unless you see a need for it, just stick with Snow Leopard until something comes along that absolutely requires Mountain Lion.

Try going to the web based site and see if you can set up a temporary folder there. Move anything you don't want to download to that folder.

  • How come, ever since I installed Mountain Lion, my computer is slower???

How come, ever since I installed Mountain Lion, my computer is slower???

First, back up all data immediately, as your boot drive may be failing.
Launch the usual set of applications you use when you notice the problem.
    Step 1
Launch the Activity Monitor application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Activity Monitor in the page that opens.
Select the CPU tab of the Activity Monitor window.
Select All Processes from the menu in the toolbar, if not already selected.
Click the heading of the % CPU column in the process table to sort the entries by CPU usage. You may have to click it twice to get the highest value at the top. What is it, and what is the process? Also post the values for % User, % System, and % Idle at the bottom of the window.
Select the System Memory tab. What values are shown in the bottom part of the window for Page outs and Swap used?
Next, select the Disk Activity tab. What approximate values are shown for Reads in/sec and Writes out/sec?
    Step 2
You must be logged in as an administrator to carry out this step.
Launch the Console application in the same way as above. Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left.
Post the 50 or so most recent messages in the log — the text, please, not a screenshot.
Important: Some personal information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Edit it out before posting.

  • Acrobat Printing Failure Mac Mountain Lion

Multipage PDF documents fail to print using iMac Mountain Lion (10.8) and Acrobat 11.0 . This failure is occurring on both USB and Network printers (HP Laserjets). The spooler appears to hang (Printing........). The printers begin to blink error code lights. This does not occur with Word documents. I have narrowed it down to only printing via Acrobat and via Safari (PDF). It does not occur when printing PDFs from Chrome. I have removed the printers. Re-installed printers. Cleared permissions. All multiple times. There is something clearly related to Acrobat's printing and not related to the printers or the connections. Please help.

I experimented with this a bit today and was not able to print from a couple of older G3s running OS X 10.4.11 to a printer shared on a 10.8.1 machine.  I was able to print from that G3 running OS X 10.3.x to the printer on OS X 10.8.1.
The only thing I turned up in the logs came from the OS X 10.4.11 machine where the CUPS error_log showed--

I would suggest that all that have this problem submit a report to Apple using their feedback page or via radar if you have a developer's account.

How to fix slow mail in mountain lion in a easy way

Please follow these directions to delete the Mail "sandbox" folder.
    Back up all data.
Triple-click the line below to select it:
    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
    Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu.* A Finder window should open with a folder named "com.apple.mail" selected. If it does, move the selected folder — not just its contents — to the Desktop. Leave the Finder window open for now.
Quit and relaunch Mail, and test. If the problem is resolved, you may have to recreate some of your Mail settings. You can then delete the folder you moved and close the Finder window. If you still have the problem, quit Mail again and put the folder back where it was, overwriting the one that may have been created in its place. Post your results.
Caution: If you change any of the contents of the sandbox, but leave the folder itself in place, Mail may crash or not launch at all. Deleting the whole sandbox will cause it to be rebuilt automatically.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

how to turn on usernoted in mountain lion after i accidently turned it off?

Usernoted was continually crashing and eating up memory. I clicked on it in the activity monitor and it took me to a place where I could turn it off. Without thinking I did so. I think I turned it off in the console or the terminal. I don't remember exactly what was written. I just clicked  to allow it to be turned off. Since then I cannot upload anything to facebook directly from my imac or from safari when I use share. But iI still get facebook notifications in the notification center. I have restarted and even shut down and then restarted and also logged out and in and I still can't share.
