How do I "Print Selection"?

Hi, I'm relatively new to the safari browser since I just switched from Internet Exporer. I know that there is a feature called "print selection" on IE, for when you highlight text that you want to print. However, I don't see this feature on Safari. Am I missing it, or is there just another way to do this? Thanks.

Sam,
There is a kludge procedure that you can use.
Select the desired text, Safari>Services>Text Edit>New Window Containing Selection and Text Edit will open (behind Safari) with the desired text. You can then print the selection using Text Edit.

    Hi,
It depends on the software you are using, what is it ? In general you can select a range or just a number of pages.

  • How do i print selected cells in numbers?

how do i print selected cells in numbers?

As I'm lazy, I use this script and paste where I want.
    --{code}
set the clipboard to (the clipboard as «class PDF »)
    --{code}
I  made a test which gave a funny result.
Given a Numbers document with a chart.
I selected the chart, the title and the legends
    then I grouped these objects.
    Select all
    copy
    run the script
I pasted in the sheet to be able to take a screenshot.
    It's a bit inconsistent.
Text values are passed when they are in cells
They are passed when they are used as value labels in the chart
but they aren't passed when they are chart's title or legend's components.
Funny behavior, the graphic symbols are moved in the process to the location where they would be if the text components were nil strings.
No comment upon a table's title which can't be selected with the table itself.

  • How can i print Selection criteria on report

    hi
i want to print my selection criteria on the report i.e.
      i have to select-options 1. plant 2. date
then now i want to to print these on header of report as:
         HEADING
         PLANT :  <SELECT-OPTIONS for Plant>  TO <SELECT-OPTIONS for Plant>
         DATE   :  <SELECT-OPTIONS for Date>  TO <SELECT-OPTIONS for Date>
         then data for report .
how i can do it .

The SELECT-OPTIONS can be referenced like and ordinary table in your ABAP.  So if your select-option is called S_PLANT it is a table with fields LOW, HIGH, OPTION, SIGN.
LOW is the 'from' value, HIGN is the 'to' value, OPTION is the comparison (BT, EQ etc) and SIGN is I or E (include or exclude).
Remember is is possible (unless you have defined your select options to limit it) to enter multiple row and exclusions in select-options, so you cannot be sure of a simple 'from' and 'to' range.

    Nick

  • How does one print selected pages of a PDF document

I deal a lot with lengthy PDF documents and always need to print just a few pages from it. In Windows after I selected Print I could choose certain pages (e.g. 2-5,18,23, 44-46). On Leopard every time I select Print I don't get a choice and the whole document prints, wasting a lot of time, ink and paper in the process. I followed instructions from the Help file but I never get to the expanded menu that would give me that choice.
Also, when printing from the web I am used to highlight what I wanted printed and click Print, then Selection. The only way I get it to print just what I want is by using the Grab program, capturing the selection and printing from it. Is there an easier way?
Any and all help is greatly appreciated as I make my transition from Windows XP to Leopard a smoother transition. Thank you.

Open the document. On the left of the document there should be a scrolling list of the pages of the document. Select the first page. Hold down the 'Command' key. While the 'Command' key is pressed down, select another page from that list. Repeat until you have selected all the pages you want to print. Select 'Print' from the 'File' menu. The Print dialog box which shows up should say that you want to print 'x' pages, where 'x' is the number of pages you have selected. Click on 'Print'. The pages you have selected will print.

  • I can't print selected text in a Print dialogue box in Yahoo mail or my bank site. I used to, now I can't.

I am having this problem both in my online banking site and when using Yahoo Mail. When I click on Print on either of these sites and then close the Print dialogue box that automatically comes up, highlight just the text I want printed, then hit Ctrl+P and choose Selection, Print Preview shows me a blank page. When I try printing the selection using either of the 2 printers I have, it prints a blank page. And yet when I do the same thing in Internet Explorer, I have no trouble printing the text I want. I tried doing the prefs.js troubleshoot, deleting everything in that file that starts with print, but it made no difference. I used to be able to print this way in Firefox no problem, but now it doesn't work. Why not, and how do I get it to work again? I'm using Windows XP and Firefox 11.

A bug was introduced in the latest version of Firefox that affects printing selections that are inside a table. Because many pages use tables for general layout (without displaying the borders), this may appear to strike at random.
A fix is expected in Firefox 12. More information: [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/923294 how to get print selection to work | Firefox Support Forum | Firefox Help]
If you expand your selection to include some content outside the table, then the feature should work, but of course it would include some unnecessary information.

  • Print selection in Firefox

I've loaded a Print Selection service (either Shubert's or Chin's, no way to identify) and it works in Safari, but in Firefox the Services menu for it is grayed-out. Why?
As a second question, how do I remove a service if I decide I no longer want it. I'd like to remove the above service and reload in a better identified way.
    Don Strack

Yes, the print selection feature has been tweaked a few times in recent versions. It was very broken in Firefox 11, and the fix has exacerbated the issue of the position of the selection not moving to the top of the page (which has existed for a long time, but is worse now).
    '''''Workarounds'''''
I agree that the Print Edit add-on, which allows very fine control of items on the page, is not the best workaround for this issue because you often have to click many items to get the same selection.
The add-on [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/nuke-anything-enhanced/ Nuke Anything Enhanced] has the option to remove everything except your selected text from the page. Then you can print normally (i.e., without choosing the Selection bubble). I don't see a feature to undo that, so you would need to reload the page afterwards in order to continue working with it.
Some screen shots illustrating this usage appear below this post.

  • Printing Selection

How do I print selection? In XP I could select text, print, and check selection to only print what is selected. Is this not an option on MBP? I used to use the grab feature, but for some reason the options under services/grab are grayed out and besides, this was a pita way of doing it anyway. Any ideas? Thanks!

  • How to print selected cells in numbers

Does anyone know how to print selected cells in a Numbers spreadsheet, rather than printing the entire sheet?
Also, how to save the selected cells as a pdf file without saving the irrelevant cells?

    How about this?

In Contacts version 8, how can I print ALL information in each individual card? When I select the print command the only thing printed is the name and address. I need phone number(s) and all other information in the cards. We enter various pieces of data, other than the standard name address & phone numbers and we print all information on each card so it fits in a 5x7 inch loose binder. We have used InTouch software for many years and it has served us extremely welll, however, the publisher (The Prairie Group) has not, and apparently has no plans to update their software to be compatible with any Mac OSX OS beyond 10.6. Any help will be appreciated!

You can select what you want included in a list format. In the Print command from Contacts, click the Show Details button. Then in the Style pulldown menu select "Lists" and there you'll be able to select what you want included. You can also select what you wish included if you select the Pocket Address Book style.
If neither of those options will work for you, then you will need to look to third-party software. Here's one possibility that seems to get good reviews:
    https://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/15485/labels-&-addresses
I haven't done more than try it to make sure that it works with OS X 10.9's Contacts, which it does, but you can download their demo and try it yourself.
