You have to first connect your printer to your network. Along with that Apple article read the printers setup instruction.

  • How do I print wirelessly from my Mac Pro to Epson XP-810 printer

I recently bought a Epson XP-810 printer and conected to my WiFi wireless router ASUS N750. The printer's test sheet states that network is working correctly but a "Router / Access point channel" conflict has been detected. I'm using a macbookpro with the current Maverick OS. The system setting shows the printer is on idle, but when I try printing wirelessly from laptop it doesn't print.
Any assistance or advice would be greatly apprecite it.

Do you know the printer's IP? If you have it you can use Network Utility to ping the printer. Its in System / Library / CoreServices / Applications.
Enter the IP in the empty field, the number of pings you want to send, then click Ping.
The results might help locate the problem.

  • How to transfer printer settings from one Mac to another (both OSX)?

Hello, I have not found a detailed description on how to transfer printer settings from one Mac to another.
My issue is that I have a Mac G5 with 3 different settings saved as "presets" for the same printer. This works great, since the posters I print (on the large format printer) need different margins and different paper at times.
This G5 is basically retired and only used for printing. G5 has OSX 10.3.9
I have a MacPro as its replacement (OSX 10.4.11).
The MacPro has all my apps and other settings setup to my liking.
I found several links via Google saying copy this folder or directory, but I am not sure I did it correctly. I don't see the "presets".
I tried launching the Migration Assistant (I hope that's the correct name), but was concerned the settings on the new MacPro would be overwritten with ALL the old stuff on the older G5. I did not start the transfer process because of this.
If someone would list the steps needed to accomplish the transfer of printer settings or advise if this is possible, then I would be very grateful! The previous user of the G5 I am using was a "Genius" and I don't know how he created these "preset" choices.
    Thanks!

Hi SCChelpdesk, and a warm welcome to the forums!
I found several links via Google saying copy this folder or directory, but I am not sure I did it correctly. I don't see the "presets".
This is the File that holds that info on Tiger, not certain on Panther...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.print.custompresets.plist
After moving, you very well might have to change the Owner's Permissions within Get Info window, then log out/in.
I tried launching the Migration Assistant (I hope that's the correct name), but was concerned the settings on the new MacPro would be overwritten with ALL the old stuff on the older G5. I did not start the transfer process because of this.
MA would transfer the info, but/and, if the user that had that info had the same Shortname as on the new one, it'll demand you give it a new Shortname to use... but then those settings would be transferred to that new user on the new machine. I think the 1st one will work though.
The previous user of the G5 I am using was a "Genius" and I don't know how he created these "preset" choices.
We can go through that way if you like... not all that hard.

  • HT5569 How can I print wireless from my iPad 4

    Hi everyone!...
How can I print wireless from my iPad 4?
Your answer will be most appreciated.
    Thank u s. M.

See requirements for AirPrint and printers that support AirPrint here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356
If your printer supports AirPrint but does not work then:
Your printer might need a firmware update
Your printer must be on the same WiFi network
Your router must support Bonjour (Zero-configuration networking).
    For troubleshooting:
Turn Off iPad, WiFi router (remove from power), and Printer (remove from power).
    Turn on WiFi router
    Wait 30 seconds
    Turn on printer
    Wait 30 seconds
    Turn on iPad
    Try to print.
If you need more help then what printer do you have?

Your router does not support printing through the USB port.  It only supports USB hard drives.
I found the answer in the manual.

  • Idle printing message when printing wirelessly from a Mac - HP Officejet 6600

I am having an issue with my HP Officejet 6600.  When I try to print from my Macbook Pro I keep getting an idle message on the print screen.  It is showing that it is connected, but will not print.  In addtion I have been able to wireless scan to my computer from the printer and test print from the utilities window on my Mac.  This problem is baffling because it was able to print last week and now can't.  Also the printer will print wirelessly from my PC, but not the Mac.  Please help.

Let's set a static IP address and external DNS for the printer:
    - Print a Network Config Page from the front of the printer. Note the printer's IP address.
    - Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.
    - Choose the Networking tab, then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.
    - On this screen you want to set a Manual IP. You need to set an IP address outside the range that the router automatically sets (called the DHCP range). If you do not know the range, change the last set of numbers (those after the last '.') to 250
    - Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet (unless you know it is different, if so, use that)
    - Enter your router's IP (on the Network Config Page) for the gateway.
    - Enter 8.8.8.8 for the first DNS and 8.8.4.4 for the second DNS. This is Google DNS. You can choose another external DNS if you wish.
    - Click 'Apply'.
Now, shut down the router and printer, start the router, wait, then start the printer.
After this you may need to redo 'Add a Printer' using the new IP address.

  • How can I print wirelessly from my ipad mini to a non-AirPrint network printer?

Does anyone know of a work around to print wirelessly from ipad mini or any apple wireless devices to a network printer that is NOT Airprint ready?  I have a trial of Printopia installed on my desktop connected to the network and it seems to work BUT the desktop has to be awake or on for this to work.  My wireless router is a new ASUS N66U with supported usb port for printers which my printer is connected to.  My PC laptop is able to see the printer but the ipad mini and iphone 5 cannot.  I could return the router and exchange for Apple Airport wireless router if I know it would make a difference.  Thanks.

    Hi,
According to the printer specs, your printer has no wireless connectivity and is not airrprint enabled so unfortunately you won't be able to print from your ipad.
you'll find the list of HP web enabled printers here.

  • How to print wirelessly from my Mac to HP Envy 100

I have Mac desktop Mac OS X 10.6.8 hooked up to a wireless router and the HP Envy 100 .  how do I set up the Mac to be able to print wirelessly.  My iPad works perfectly but I just can't get the desktop to work.  Any help would be great.

Open Print & Fax preferences. Click on the Add [-] button to add a new printer. In the window that opens click on the Default icon in the toolbar. You should see the printer listed. Select it. OS X will then look for the printer driver needed. After it's found click on the Add button.

  • How do I Print Wireless from iMac G5 to Canon MP610?

    Hi,
I have an iMac G5 that is located on the main floor in our home. I connect to the internet from my iMac G5 wirelessly. (Our home has an AT&T DSL set-up).
The problem I am having has to do with printing from my iMac G5. The printer that I currently utilize is located UPSTAIRS in our home. I print wirelessly to the printer (Canon MP600) by utilizing Airport.
Recently, we bought another printer that is located on the same floor as my iMac G5. This printer is more convenient for me to access, however, the new printer is located in another room and it's connected to an IBM computer. I am wondering HOW to set it up so that I can print from my iMac G5 to the new printer (wirelessly), which is located on the same floor? By the way, both of my printers (the one that is UPSTAIRS and the one that is on the MAIN FLOOR) are Canon Printers.
    Thanks!

You need to have the one connected to the PC shared. Not sure if they still do but apple used to do a Windows version of Bonjour to make sharing over networks simple, you could try that.
