How do I protect apps from being deleted?

My 2 year old has been accidentally deleting apps and I have to reload them?  Is there a way to protect them?

You'll probably also want to set "iTunes", "Installing Apps" and "In-App Purchases" to off as well so that s/he can't inadvertently purchase apps or new components for existing apps.
Regards.

    Have you seen this?
Using a POP account with more than one device - Apple Support
A better solution is if your email provider uses IMAP. IMAP sync email folders between multiple devices. Meaning any device will receive the email, all sent email can be seen on the devices. If you delete email from one device the email is deleted from all the other devices. Check with your email provider to see if they offer IMAP services.
If they do not your choices are to 1) configure email on the PC to keep Mail on the mail server or 2) change email providers to something like Gmail or Outlook.com (as examples). FWIW I use Cox IMAP email and fully sync email between a Win 8.1 Update 1 laptop, a Win 7 desktop, an iPad 4, an iPhone 4 and an iPhone 5S.

how do i protect pdf from being forwarded by email?@

There's nothing at all you can do to stop a PDF from being copied, emailed, put in a USB stick, uploaded to DropBox, or shared in any other way. DRM ($$$$) can make it so that unauthorized copies cannot be opened.

  • How to prevent ipad apps from being stored in the iCloud and how to bring them back to the iPad

I have an iPad Mini Retina with 128GB of storage.  I purchased about a dozen apps and it gets stored in the iCloud and I don't know how to access them on the cloud storage.  Plus I have many apps from me itouch that I use and they are also stored on the iCloud.
How can I prevent further apps that I buy from gettting transfer to the iCloud?
How can I download my existing apps that I purchase and that are from my itouch that are stored in the iCloud into my iPad?
How do I access my iCloud storage from my iPad?
    Thanks.

You make it sound like apps are disappearing from your iPad and uploading to iCloud. That's not how it works. Maybe somebody (or you) deleted the apps and you don't realize it.
You cannot prevent apps from being stored in iCloud. That is one of the reasons for using iCloud. It will store all of your purchased apps and you will be able to download them if you delete them, or if you buy another device that you want to use the apps on.
If you have apps that are in iCloud, just go to the Purchased Tab in the app store, tap on the Not on this iPad button at the top. Look for any of the apps that you want to download and then tap the cloud icon in order to download them to the iPad. You access your iCloud storage in the purchased tabs of the different stores or in the apps themselves. Any data that is being backed up in iCloud is on the device in the corresponding apps and you don't need to access that data in iCloud. It's at your fingertips already,
Purchased apps do NOT count against your iCloud storage. If you have 60GB of apps, they do not take up the alloted 5GB of free storage that you get. The app data would count against the storage but not the apps themselves.

  • How do I protect images from being downloaded in Muse?

When creating a slideshow in Muse, how can I protect the images from being downloaded?

    Essentially, you can't.
If something is available online to view, it can also be downloaded and there is little you can do to actually stop it.
There are scripts that you can add to your site to disable "right click > save image" BUT someone who really wants the image can get around this using a variety of ways, including creen caps and looking at your code to determine the source where is image is hosted on your server.
The best that you can do it watermark the images clearly and also imbed data into the image file. It won't stop anyone taking the images, but it clearly tracks the fact that you're the copyright owner. Do take note though, that someone who understands about this, can also remove these bits of data - but your average user wouldn't either know about it, or know how to remove it. This, however is one of the best ways to 'stamp' your ownership to an image.

  • How can I protect files from being uploaded to the internet/web-based email or being written to a disc/flash drive?

I work for a company that want to update itself to this century.  I got all our PC upgraded to Windows 7 and networked into a homegroup.  We want to use a web-based appointment scheduler but this means giving our users web access.  The main
concern is our .mdb files.  We have anti-virus/anti-spyware to protect us from infiltration but we want to safeguard against personnel selling our client list; At least make it more difficult, just a precautionary measure.  Do I need additional software
or is it something that I can do in Windows setting?  Or do I need a file encryption service that works in conjunction with Windows Access?  Sorry for my ignorance and thanks in advance.

There is technology known as RMS which you could set series of policies like only members in the company could access certain documents and if someone copy them and attempt to run them in another PC or outside company, it won't work. Take a look at:

  • How do I stop history from being deleted after 90 days?

I've noticed recently that my history keeps on getting removed after 90 days, the default setting. So, right now, my history only goes back to October 2011, when just yesterday it went back to September 2011. I have not deleted anything, it's done it itself. My privacy settings are set to simply 'Remember history' which I assumed would be indefinitely. I looked in the about:config and it told me that in a previous version of Firefox the "Keep history for n amount of days" setting, which doesn't show up on this version (9.0.1) was set to 9999, just as I left it. For some reason however, this does not seem to work anymore, and I'm losing more history everyday. Is there a place where everything is stored on the hard drive which I can just save for now until this is solved, or do I have to start saving things manually elsewhere other than on Firefox.

There is no time limit in Firefox 4+ versions for the history.<br />
Firefox determines automatically how many pages can be kept without affecting the performance.<br />
You can see the current value via the reads-only pref places.history.expiration.transient_max_pages on the about:config page.<br />
You can reset the no longer used browser.history_expire_days* prefs from older Firefox versions to remove them on the next start.
    See:
    * http://blog.bonardo.net/2010/01/20/places-got-async-expiration
If you lose history after 90 days then it has been removed via other means like cleanup software or by deleting the history unless you have exceeded that maximum page limit.

  • Any way to "lock" app from being deleted?

My 3-yr old son has recently deveopled a penchant for deleting apps off our iPad.  Is there any way to "lock" apps in a way that, say, a password is needed to delete them?

Do not give him the restrictions passcode of course.

  • How can I stop email from being deleted on computer?

I upgraded from a 3gs to a 4s today. Everything is working fine except my email. On my 3gs I had my email set up to never delete from the server that way I could delete the mail on my phone but not on my computer. With the new 4s I can't find the never delete from server option.  Can anyone help me?  It's a hotmail address that I'm using.

Look in Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>tap your hotmail account>Look through the settings (usually under Advanced)

  • How do I prevent mail from being deleted?

So I lost some mail when I was cleaning up my iPhone, thinking that the mail was already on the Mac, as it is whenever I log on.  Lo and behold, I lost some three months of mail!  What to do?  Do I have to phyiscally email each email that I get on iCloud to my mac account,or even gmail account?  I am getting confused.... as I thought the iCloud was a huge server in the sky that I could access anytime, anywhere, on any planet.

This is what syncing is all about. It sounds like you deleted some mail while logged in on your phone.  This deletes it from the server.  When your Mac synced up with the server, it deleted the mail it had previously downloaded so it would be in sync with what was on the server.  In the old days, assuming you really wanted that mail deleted, you would have had to manually delete it from every device.  Now it does it automatically for you. Similarly, mail you send from your phone will also appear in the sent mail folder on your Mac; you don't have to check all your devices to find that message you sent last month.
If you haven't already emptied the email trash, you should be able to get those messages back.

  • Protect Apps From Deletion

Anyone know is there a way to protect apps from being deleted be it app or phone setting? If not, is there something in the future that Apple can do to address this?
Problem is I let my daughter play on the iPhone. She is three but accidently deletes the apps every now and then. I usually supervise when she is on it but my wife gives it to her to get her off her back while she's watching her TV shows. I know the iTunes keeps a list of my apps but it gets annoying going back and finding which exact one got deleted.

"Anyone know is there a way to protect apps from being deleted be it app or phone setting?"
    No.
" If not, is there something in the future that Apple can do to address this? "
Probably. There is absolutely no way to know what Apple may or may not do in the future. You can leave feedback for them at:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
Perhaps you should not let a three year old play with an iphone. This would solve the issue completely. Since the iphone is not designed for toddlers, it makes little since to toddler proof them, as this would inconvenience those for whom the iphone is actually designed.

  • How can I protect the book in my Ibooks from being deleted?

I allow my special needs child to use the Ipad for specific apps that promote learning, however, I am afraid he may delete the books I have purchased with my Ibook app. Is there a way to protect the content in my Ibook app from being deleted?

Another thought: iCloud stores your previous iBook purchases as described here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2587
So even if your iBooks happen to be deleted, there's no great harm done as you can always redownload them.

  • Protect DLL Files from being deleted or unregistered

I am looking for a way to protect a DLL file from being deleted or unregistered.
My users have an application that uses the same DLL files as another application. This is in a test environment, so when they are uninstalled they step on each other by deleting or un-registering the DLLs.
    Any ideas?

    Hi,
These apps are designed to delete the DLL file in uninstallation process. You can test to Deny the Delete permission on the DLL file as a test but it may cause a new issue that application think they failed to uninstall itself clearly as the DLL file cannot
be deleted. Just have a try on Deny Delete permission in NTFS security.

My itunes account was set up under an email account that has been deleted. I started a new i tunes account but have the same device as with the old account. How do i keep my music thats on my ipod touch from being deleted whin i sync it to itunes after purchasing new music?

I have the same problem (deleted email account). I think I mistakenly set up an account when I was buying an Apple product online, not realizing that it would be the same ID as my iTunes.
What is the way to actually contact Apple?
I have been clicking around in circles for hours! Will I have to pay them to resolve this? I don't have any products still have applecare . . .

  • Is there a way to password protect certain apps from being used? Example I don't want my child to access my apps while he's using his on the iPad

Is there a way to password protect certain apps from being used? Example I don't want my child to access my apps while he's using his on the iPad. I don't want to lock him out of the iPad. Let him use Angry birds, but not Sims or Games not appropriate for him that I play.

Sorry, but it is not possible to restrict use of specific apps other that the few restrictions provided in the Restrictions settings, not unless the app itself provides some sort of lock. If you don't want your child playing certain games, the only answer is to not load them on the iPad he uses.
