How do I Publish site to another .mac account

Hey I made a site for a friend and she just got herself a .mac account. What's the easiest way to tranfer the site off of my account over to hers?
I know it's probably a stupidly easy solution but I would appreciate any help.
Dual 2.0 G5   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

1. Open .Mac preferences
2. Put in her login info
3. open iWeb
4. publish the site
If she does not have iWeb, then skip to step 6.
5. Open up ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb/ and copy the domain.sites file to her iDisk.
6. open up .mac and change your preferences back.

  • Can I create & publish site for another .Mac user?

My wife is a .Mac member and I piggybacked a .Mac e-mail address through her account. Now I'm trying to help my father, a recent Mac convert and .Mac member, by creating a website for him with my version of iWeb 08. When I open iWeb on my computer (first time as I've always used Dreamweaver to create websites), I'm locked out of pretty much everything (I'm assuming because I'm not a full .Mac member which it's somehow linking to). If I have my father's .Mac info, can I create a site for him and upload it for him on my computer, and if so, how would I do this?
Thanks in advance for any help!
    ~Chris

All you need to do to post to his .Mac account is find out what his .Mac username and password are and input them into the .Mac pane of System Preferences. That will give iWeb access to his .Mac space. If you end up getting your own .Mac at a later time, you will have to change that info in System Prefs.
I created a separate user on my computer for a 2nd website that I publish for my church. That way I keep all the iWeb and .Mac account info separate without having to jump through any hoops - I just have to switch users.

  • How to transfer iWeb site to another Mac in Lion

Does anyone know how I can move my iWeb site from my Macbook Pro to my iMac.  I've transfered the files, but iWeb doesn't see the data.  I've copied the data to the iWeb folder in my User Library thinking that would help as I've read others have done in Snow Leopard.  This doesn't seem to work in Lion.  thanks for the help.  I'm using iLife 11

In Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
For opening your domain file in Lion for the first time or to switch between multiple domain files  Cyclosaurus has provided us with the following script that you can make into an Applescript application with Script Editor. Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an application.
Just launch the applicaiton, find and select the domain file you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.
do shell script "/usr/bin/defaults write com.apple.iWeb iWebDefaultsDocumentPath -boolean no"delay 1
    tell application "iWeb" to activate
You can download an already compiiled version with this link: iWeb Switch Domain.
WARNING: iWeb Switch Domain will overwrite an existing Domain.sites2 file if you select to create a new domain in the same folder.  So rename your domain files once they've been created to something other than the default name.

Choose Go to Folder from the Finder's Go menu, enter ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb/ as the path, and move iWeb's domain package as desired.

  • Best way to publish multiple sites without a .mac account?

Hi, all you mac geniuses out there!
So, I have a mac and a .mac membership and iweb. I use and love all of them. I also have a business in which I am about to incorporate the service of designing websites for various individuals. I would love to be able to use iweb for this. However, I can't put it all on my .mac account. So, my questions are the following:
    1. Do I charge people extra and buy them a .mac account so they have their own idisk even though they won't need the e-mail and other .mac features?
    2. Can I create a website for them on iweb, buy a domain name for them through godaddy or somewhere, publish to a folder, and then upload to a separate hosting space (like through godaddy or somewhere)? And if that's the case, what is the best (and easiest) place to host a site and how exactly does one go about uploading the site once it's published to a folder? Will it still look like the iweb layout?
    3. Any better suggestions?
    Thanks!
    Lisa

    1. Do I charge people extra and buy them a .mac

I don't think this would be necessary...
    2. Can I create a website for them on iweb, buy a
domain name for them through godaddy or somewhere,
publish to a folder, and then upload to a separate
    hosting space...
Yes. The best thing for you to do would be to get familiar with a program called "iWebSites" ( http://mistergregg.com/cocoadrillosoftware/ ). I'm sure you don't want your personal .Mac website to be mixed in with your client websites. In addition, you will appreciate the ability to be able to publish your various websites INDEPENDENTLY of one another, so that you only publish your personal site to your .Mac account and your client sites individually as needed. iWebSites helps you to create separate Domain files for iWeb so that each website can "live" in its own space and be edited and published separate from every other site.
But yes, as far as your client websites go, prepare for a new site with iWebSites, design the site in iWeb, then "Publish to Folder" and then register and upload to the appropriate domain name server directory. I think this would be a slick way to run your business....full service, right?
Let me know if you have any other questions.

  • My URL has been duplicated since moving my site from another Mac

When I originally made my company site it was just a normal www.website.com and thats how it appeared in the address bar.  I then moved the site to another Mac (cant quite remember the steps I used) and did some updates to it and republished it and now it appears as www.website.com/WebSite.com/Home.html.  Nothing has changed with my hosting company or anything like that.  It literally changed just from moving it to anoter computer which is why I suspect that something happened with the folders or something with iWeb.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You want to have your cake and eat it too?
Well, you have to choose. Do it the iWeb way, the situation you have now, or your way, publish to a folder and upload the content of that folder to the server.
    As it was before.
    You can't have both.
    BUT.
As always, there still is a way to eat the cake.
    Read this :
    http://blog.wyodor.net/2011/08/avoiding-then-iweb-sitename-in-url.html
It works. I know, I baked the cake.
    You choose.

  • HT4007 Already have Aperture 3 license, how do I install it on another Mac without rebuying it from App store?

Already have Aperture 3 license, how do I install it on another Mac without rebuying it from App store?

As you can see from all the replies to your question if you are not clear in describing the situation it is very difficult to try and help you.
So first how did you originally purchase Aperture? App Store, DVD or Unlocked Trial version.
If you purchased it from the App store if you log into the App Store with the same Apple ID you used to purchase Aperture then you will be able to install it on other systems besides the one you originally installed it on. Even though the button says Purchase you will not be charged again as lolongnd as this is the same Apple ID you used the first time.
If you installed from DVD or Trail unlock post back.

How can I import contacts from another AIM account to this new one??

    Hi,
Use AIM for Mac and use the Export and Import features.
Other than that it is a question on making sure every Single Buddy has more than just their Screen name in the IChat Address Card so it is added to the Address Book and dragging them back from there

  • Publish to a different .mac account?

I would like to publish to another .mac account which I own. Is it possible?
    Sal

    A simple answer: yes
An explanation. You can do that if you haqve the login and password for this account. So, you can change or create another user in your machine and in his/her system preferences fill in the login and password and you'll have access to publish to this user
    or
open this user idisk from menubar (go -> idisk) and enter the login and pass.
    done!

  • How can I retrieve playlists from another Spotify account

How can I retrieve playlists from another Spotify account that the email is no longer active and I forgot the password to that account.

Hey there , welcome to the community!
Since you have two accounts, it would be best to just have Spotify close that account and have them transfer all your music to your new account. How does that sound? If you contact the accounts team through the online contact form and provide the account username with the e-mail address, date of birth, and zip code on the account then they should be able to do it for you! If you receive an automated e-mail directing you back to the community, just reply to it and you should receive a reply from a representative within 24-48 hours.

  • How to publish to another .Mac account ??

For a variety of reasons I decided to start afresh with a new .Mac account - how do I republish my web pages to the NEW account - the older account will expire later this month ?
    Thanks

QTK - removing old account data may be the issue. I still have my original .Mac account name pop up from the Apple site - I think they keep the old ones in their system forever as some type of marketing scheme to get you to renew.
Since you can not delete your .Mac aliases was formed (only deactivate) - you have to set up a new account to get 5 new/different aliases.

  • Moving my iweb site to another mac

Is it possible to move my iweb site from one mac to another? If so how do I do it?
    Thanks,
    Mike

    Lucy,
iWebSites is a beta application capable of merging separate Domain files. It gets good reviews in this forum.
You will not overwrite one Domain file with another unless you intentionally replace a Domain file with another, just like any like-named file. Keep your Domain files in their own folders, folders that are named for the sites the respective Domain files contain. Open the Domain file/Site of your choice by first opening it's folder and then double-clicking on the Domain file inside.
