How do I publish to Adobe Connect?

I want to experiment with using Connect (or Connect Pro?) as both an LMS and distribution platform for webinars an e-learning content created in Captivate 5. I have successfully created my trial account in Adobe Connect, and received the email with my account information. But that doesn't seem to correspond to the information in the publish dialog boxes in Captivate. The "change server" button leads me to a dialog box that asks for name and URL. What name? what URL? (I have tried the names and URL from the email I got about my trial membership, but when I try to publish, I get a meaningless error message that "the resource does not exist."). Any suggestions?
I can't believe how undocumented this is! The Connect website, for example, features oodles of information about creating content in Presenter... but none about Captivate.

Sign in using the same Adobe ID you used to sign in to the Folio Builder panel. Your app will appear in the library.

  • Error when publishing to Adobe Connect Pro

I am using Captivate 5 and when I publish to Adobe Connect Pro I get the following error message.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Connect 7 didn't support MP4 video content, as I recall. Another issue is that Connect rooms are using Action Script 2 (AS2) while Presenter 9 uses AS3, and the two code languages don't play well together. You don't mention if you are using the meeting application to display the presentation, but it is worth mentioning. If the presentations are stand alone, then the AS3 issue should be non-existent, but the MP4 support may be.
Is there a reason you haven't updated the Connect software to Connect 9 (or at least Connect 8.1 where the Connect application became AS3 as a whole and supported MP4 content)?

  • Anyone have issues publishing to Adobe Connect with Presenter 7.0.7?

I can publish using 7.0.6 with PPT 2010, but have not been successful with Presenter 7.0.7 and PPT 2010. So far everything else looks okay (or as okay as expected), but I cannot publish to Adobe Connect or output a working zip package. All of the settings for the two configurations match, just the version 7 build number is different.  Wondering if anyone has successfully troubleshooted this problem before. Thanks.

I need to update, my messaging is now working.  Apparently after going through the steps and the settng notifications to on all I had to do was turn off the car, open the door, and then return.  When I got in my car this morning the text messaging (recieve only) was working.

  • Does Articulate Quizmaker display questions when published to Adobe Connect?

This may have (probably has) already been discussed in the forum, but after searching, I simply can't find it.
When publishing quizzes from other products like Adobe Presenter, Captivate, etc. into Adobe Connect Pro 7, the questions DO display when running reports. However, when I publish quizzes from Articulate Quizmaker, the questions DO NOT display.
After searching the LMS Support area (http://www.articulate.com/support/quizmaker09/kb/?cat=3), it looks like only the question ID will be published into Adobe Connect. However, that is incredibly difficult to quickly glance to understand information in Adobe Connect reports because, as much as I would like to think I am a genius, I just can't memorize what question ID's go with what question.
If this is a limitation, has anyone found a workaround or do we know if future versions of Adobe Connect or Quizmaker will offer any solutions to this?
I have attached a Word document that displays the difference for a visual.  Thanks in advance for any assistance you can offer. Still love you all, either way!
    Keepin' the joy,

    Hi there
Unless things have changed, I believe that the Right-Click ability relies on JavaScript. I suppose it's possible that Connect doesn't present things by handing off all the files involved and it is somehow wrapping the Captivate within its own wrapper and thereby ignoring the JavaScript Captivate creates that makes the magic happen.
Hopefully Lilybiri, Rod, Eric or another will come along and either confirm or refute my belief,
    Cheers... Rick

  • Video playback issue for Adobe Presenter 9 when publishing to Adobe Connect Pro 7

    Hello!
I am having an issue with video playback for Adobe Presenter 9. When I preview the presentation on my computer there are no issues with any of the MP4 videos that I have loaded into my presentations. However, when I publish the presentation to Adobe Connect and access the URL the videos are either delayed or do not appear at all.  We are using our own Adobe server which we purchased in 2008, along with Adobe Connect Pro 7. We recently updated our Adobe Presenter software to version 9. Is there an incompatibility issue between Adobe Presenter 9 and our current Adobe Server/current version of Adobe Connect? Or do I need to do something different in Adobe Presenter when importing the videos?  Note: I have tried FLV videos and had the same issue.
We are trying to launch of series of webinars (each webinar has between 15-42 slides), which was the whole purpose of updating our Adobe Presenter and Adobe Captivate software....hopefully we can resolve this video issue.
    Thanks!
    Dana

  • Cannot advance through Captivate quiz after publishing to Adobe Connect.

We use Adobe Connect to present live on-line webinars to our students. We have been using Captivate to survey the students at the beginning and end of each class. I created quizzes in Captivate and published them to our Connect server. Most of the time the quizzes work fine. But some students are not able to click the submit button and advance through the quiz. Any ideas why some participants wouldn't be able to complete Captivate quizzes?

I will try that with our classes today. The weird thing is that we have 3 meeting rooms that we use these Captivate surveys in, and the same student can complete the survey in one meeting room but not another.

  • Unable to overwrite course published on Adobe Connect

Just in the past week, I've attempted to overwrite a couple of courses published in Captivate7 to Adobe Connect.  I usally get a communication error, then have to  begin the publishing process over.  Then Captivate displays that the course has published successfully, but when I play the course from the Adobe Connect link, it plays the old content and not the new content.
The work around is to publish the course under a new title, but this gets to be a pain due to links to the course being already published.  Have others been having this issue.  Overwriting courses is something I do on a regular basis, and this problem has only become an issue recently.

Please try to delete the Adobe Connect Server configuration and add it again. Then try to publish your content again to Connect

    Rajeev.

  • Captivate 7 project fails to publish to Adobe Connect

    ERROR MESSAGE:
"Failed to publish your project to the Adobe Connect Server. Verify your network conection and try again"
First of all, my network connection is fine. And I have run through a number of solutions to try to make this work but im running my head into a wall trying to figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The project is a quiz and survey with multiple choice, likert, and short answer questions with 5 .flv videos. I have a sepearte file with likert questions (I heard those a problematic) that gave me the same error when I tried to publish with captivate 6, but worked with captivate 7. So it publishes that file with likerts but not this one. The publisher gives the error whether the file has videos or not. Any ideas?

    Hi there,
From the post, it looks like the issue is specific to a project. Is it possible for you to share the problematic project with us so that we can investigate the issue at our end? Please upload it to a shared workspace (Acrobat.com) and send me the link to [email protected]
    Thanks,

  • Where can I find detailed information on how to edit recordings in Adobe Connect

Would like to be able to edit more specific segments of recording...how do I do that?

If you double click the crop bars, they go to exactly where your play head is.
If you need a more granular edit, you can download the source files of the recording (I would do it after having at least one edit in the recording) by adding /output/yorunamehere.zip?download=zip to the URL for your recording. Then you should see an edit.xml file (if edits are present in the recording), where you can put in the edits at whatever timings you want. You will need to know where the edits go before doing this, as it is a blind edit. Then rezip all the files back up and upload to the connect server to have a duplicate version of the recording, with your edits.
Other than that, there is not much that can be done to get a more specific edit.

  • How can I download an Adobe Connect recorded presentation so I can edit it in Presenter?

I am not a computer guru, please give me step by step (elementary) directions.  Thank you!

If you are just trying to get the audio from the recording to put into a Presenter presentation, then I would do the following.
Append the recording url with /output/name.zip?download=zip (You can name the zip whatever you like)This will pull down the source files for the recording
In the zip you should find either a file called cameraVoIPX_X.flv (multiple if the audio was started and stopped through the presentation), if the audio was recorded with VoIP or an mp3 file if the audio was recorded through an integrated phone bridge. If recorded with VoIP, extract the camearVoip file(s) and change the file extension to mp3.
Import the Mp3(s) into Presenter and distribute the audio across the appropriate slidesAlternatively use Audition or some other audio editing software to clean up and cut the audio to per-slide files for easy import.
That should get you what you need.

  • Adobe Connect 9 Training Course Video gets resized after being published from Captivate 6

    Hello!
I have an FLV that I have published to Adobe Connect 9 from Adobe Captivate 6.
I have set the size of the video to the dimensions that best display the FLV with player controls.
However, when I publish to Adobe Connect 9, the video is resized to a smaller size and looks heavily pixelated.
Is there a way to keep the dimensions and quality without Adobe Connect 9 resizing it?
Here are the settings in Captivate 6:
Here is the first screen for the preferences:
Here is the second screen in Preferences:
Here is what it looks like when viewed from Captivate 6 in a web browser:
Here is what it looks like after it has been published and uploaded into the training in Adobe Acrobat 9:
If you notice in the image above the video is smaller and the CMS logo is very pixelated due to Adobe Connect 9 resizing it.
I am not sure how to keep the dimensions that I have from Captivate 6 and have it reflect after it has been published to Adobe Connect 9.
And is there more functionality that I am not able to access since I am using a 30-Day trial.
Thanks for taking the time to read and assist!
    Angelo

You are correct that this is a known issue.  There was a fundamental change to the way objects are added to the timeline that came in with Cp6.  The result is that objects such as your SWF animations are only loaded at the time they are added to the timeline, and this causes the slide flickering you witness.  There's not really a lot you can do to get rid of it other than rebuilding all of your animations to be a single animation that once loaded will continue unabated until finished.

  • Unable to Publish Captive 4 into Adobe Connect with Windows 7

    Hello,
I am using Adobe Captive 4 and have previously been able to publish my Adobe Captivate videos into Adobe Connect.  However, I have now had my PC upgraded to Windows 7 and am now unable to do so. When I attempt to publish into Adobe Connect, I received the following message:
Adobe Connect requires Flash Player 9.0.0.0 or above.
I have Flash version 11 installed on my computer so I don't think this is the problem. However, I do notice that the publish option opens in a window that seems to be another program or wizard that is used to publish from Captivate into Adobe Connect; this may be where my problem resides. I had a co-worker on Windows XP try and everything still works fine. It is only with Windows 7 that this problem occurs.
Any help or direction with this issue would be great.
    Thanks!

Odd, I just verified that I could publish from CP4 to Connect. Windows 7, Connect 8.2.1, Captivate 4.0.1 Build 1658.
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling Captivate? Maybe it didn't hook into the right version of Flash...

  • Adobe Connect as an LMS and Adobe Captivate html 5

We are using Adobe Connect as an LMS.
We can create and publish Adobe Captivate modules as html 5,
Our problem is iOS devices (iPhone and iPad) can't access the courses through adobe Connect's courses and content because it is flash based and not supported by iOS.
The result is we have html 5, we can publish it to Adobe Connect, iOS devices can use the link to run the course, but we can't use it with the Adobe Connect Course displays.
Has any found a way to do that?
    Thank you.

    Ashwani,
Thank  you for your request. I asked my developer for moire information - here are his clarifications for my question:
    ================================================================================
Technically it's Adobe Connect itself and a curriculum on Adobe Connect that are giving us the problem. I just borrowed an iPad and tried to login to Adobe Connect. I can't even login - it tells me I need to download Flash.
So the issue doesn't have anything to do with Captivate, it's Adobe Connect. We don't need to share any content - just try to login to Adobe Connect and you get stopped right there.
    The real issue is
iOS users can't access HTML5 content on Adobe Connect because they can't login to Adobe Connect - that requires Flash. That means Adobe Connect isn't acting as an LMS, it's just a web server holding two kinds of content that you can link to. How can we login to Adobe Connect from an iOS device to see the list of curricula and access the courses they contain as an LMS with reporting, etc.?
    =====================================================================
Would you still need to see the content?
    Thank you,
    Bill

  • Need Advice-Adobe Connect and tracking student grades

I know that Adobe Connect can be used as a LMS, I need to know how to track grades for each student. Also each student has to pay for the class, How can I limit or control who logs in to the class. I dont want the link to be passed around for any one  to use. I,ll take all the help I can get. Thanks for any help or advice.

The question is, how do I "track each individuals progress through your training, and you will be able to pull reports that show that."  When I have the reports published to Adobe Connect, all I see are aggregate results.  I can find no way to get individual results.

  • Cannot locate Adobe Connect Server URL info

I recently purchased Adobe Captivate 8.0 and I have seen how Responsive Design works. Now, I am trying to publish and display the content to display on a mobile device using Adobe Connect.
My mobile phone does display regular websites, but it does not display any of my responsive design projects.
    From Captivate
    Click Publish
    Select Publish to Adobe Connect
In the Name box of the Publish To Adobe Captivate dialog box, I enter a valid name for the project
(The URL box is blank.) Click the Orange folder icon
In the Adobe Connect Server dialog box, I click Add
In the Add New Server dialog box ...
I can enter a name in the Name box, but ...
I don't know what to put for the URL box
It is in the URL box that I am stuck. I don't know what to type or where to get/find the information.
    Please advise.
    Thank you.

    Hi K Taube,
You can try using https://arcps.adobeconnect.com in URL field.
If you have Adobe Edge Inspect, you can preview the Responsive project output in Mobile.
For more information on Help, see Adobe Captivate Help | Adobe Connect
Unfortunately, as of now, Mobile view is not supported in Adobe Connect for Responsive projects - please check this link for known issues Top issues | Adobe Captivate 8
