How do I put a box around a line of text like I did in Appleworks?

Please help me. I miss the toolbox in Appleworks where I could easily put a box around text, resize it, make it darker, etc. I've tried the Help menu in Pages and am ready to give up. Could someone please walk me through this? I don't want to use templates --just a plain word processing document. However, I used to box text in after I typed it. Thank you very much.

which is what we did in AppleWorks and what I explained how we may achieve in Pages.
I added the example of string with a background because often, we used the enclosing rectangle because the backgrounded text was unavailable.
Only the backrgound is able to flow correctly with the text.
An inline text box will change the line spacing.
But in fact this message was mainly written to ask you if the border feature works well for you.
Here, it behaves like the (top + bottom borders).
+I wish to add that I get the same behavior with the French and with the English version, under 10.4 and under 10.5, on the G5 and on the macIntel.+
My workaround is to use a table's cell, not a text block.

Hide the Background Layer and save a copy in a file format that supports transparency (psd, png-24, …).
What will you use it for?
Because vector data would make sense for printing, so Illustrator might be a better choice than Photoshop for this.

With the Layer that contains the shape selecected try Layer > Layer Style > Stroke.

Draw the shape which is to be knocked out (a line in the example) in a layer above the logo. The colour doesn't matter because it will be made invisible.
Double-click in the space to the right of the layer's name in Layers panel to open its Layer Style window where advanced blending can be modified.
Set Fill Opacity to zero and Knockout to "Deep" or "Shallow" depending on whether the knockout should be limited to a containing Group.

How to get rid of box around exported art

I only use illustrator when I need to change something, so I have no idea what I am really doing. I have a logo in illustrator that has been saved as an eps file. When I import that eps file into another program, it comes in with a rectangle around the log that has a white background. Is there any way I can just save the logo without the bounding box? Sorry to sound stupid but I still don't understand. Maybe if I explain myself better. I have an eps file of a logo which when I open it in illustrator I can ungroup the objects, change the outline or fill of them etc. I have tried exporting it to tif, eps, etc. I then import the file into FrameMaker. When I import it, it comes in as a rectangle. The logo is there, but I want to put the logo on top of a blue box and just have the logo showing. Instead, I get the logo inside of a white box on top of my blue background. How do I export the graphic so all I get are the pieces of the logo without the rectangular box around it? Any help is much appreciated.

I'm trying to upload a saved graphic watermark to my photos in Lightroom 4 but no matter what I do, I can't get the white box around the watermark to go away. I've already tried saving the watermark file in PNG like other sites suggested but it does no good. Other sites tell me I need to save the watermark in another version of adobe and check the box "transparent" but Lightroom is the only version of adobe I have. Any help ASAP would be greatly appreciated!!!

I have also been trying to solve the same problem. Where does one take an already created watermark and make it transparent? I have Photoshop on my old Mac and e-mailed my solid white background watermark to myself, opened it in Photoshop and "erased" the white background. Transfered it back to my Lightroom on my MacBookPro and exported the test photo w/ the "erased" background watermark. I had no idea if it would work….it did not. How do you remove link box around images?

I have put a link on a firework image that I created. When I put the files up it looks fine on my computer but a blue box keeps showing up on older computers. It is a bright blue color and looks very weird. Is there a way to have a link on the image but without a blue box around it? Or at least change the color of the link so it matches the site. Thanks!

This will ensure there is no border on *any* images that have links attached to them.

How to Check LT check box in IA02 - for Long text for Equipment Task list operations

Hi Experts,
I am trying to upload text for Equipment task list,i am able to upload texts at header,but not for operations.
At operations level - we have a check box LT which is grayed out - when am manually making an entry ( LT Check box - is getting checked when am creating entry manually ) - after manual entry - when i tried uploading text is working fine.
Can someone please tell me how to get the check box - checked - while saving text - using FM : SAVE_TEXT .

My iMac PPC has little A's with boxes around them instead of text?

After my son's visit from NYC my iMac PPC OS 10.4.11 now has A's with boxes around them instead of usual names across the top of the screen. No more File Edit etc across the top of the screen?

How do I put a border around my title, please?

I have a title page for a short video, edited in Premiere Pro, for YouTube. I want to put a rectangular frame (border) around that title page. I want the color of the border to be the same color as the font in the title. How do I do this, please? Below are the three elements from Publisher - background, title and frame. I want to combine the same elements in Premiere Pro. (I'm not trying to use Publisher in Premiere Pro, I am just trying to make it clearer what I am trying to do.) (I'm a rookie, obviously.) OK.
First of all the yellow line started life as a rectangle. I eliminated the fill by unchecking it, and added an inner stroke. To get the same yellow you used, I took a screen capture of your image then added it to my title as a logo. That allowed me to use the eyedropper next to the rectangle to sample your yellow text for the color of the stroke. When the stroke was properly yellow, I deleted the logo (your text).
Then I typed the text and using the eyedropper again, I changed the color to match the outline.
Adding a little bit of shadow makes it look better, by the way. Like this:

I own the Adobe CS5 suite, but I'm still new to these programs and don't know a lot about image editing and website creation.
I'm making a website for my boss, and because I don't know how to use Dreamweaver yet, I've been using an awful software program called "Website Tonight," which is very basic and limited, but pretty self explanatory.
Originally, when I tried to insert the company's logo onto the website, there was a white box showing up around the logo. I tried several things to cut the white parts out, and it looked like it worked in photoshop, but the box continued to show up on the website.
Eventally I decided to try to fill in the white parts with the blue background color of the website so it would blend in, and I was successful at this. However, somehow, for some reason, even though this box is the exact color of the background, the top right corner and right side of the box surrounding the logo can be seen on the website. The box isn't visible on the other sides. From what I can tell, there is no shadow selected when I have this image in photoshop, but maybe I'm not looking in the right place.
I've looked for solutions online and haven't been able to find any that work. The logo isn't a link on the website, so it isn't related to that. I don't know if this is something that can be fixed in photoshop, or if it's css related, or what. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Here's a picture I took of the computer screen that shows how the logo is appearing. I filled the white box in with the blue background color of the website hoping to make it blend in, but the box is still visible in the upper right corner and around the middle of the letter C, but not visible in the lower right corner or any other part of the box I filled in. The color in this area is appearing slightly darker than the background, making the boxe's outline visible on the right. The fill color is the exact color of the background and the rest of the areas of the box I filled in. I've tried saving this as a png file and as a jpg.
