How do I put a metadata(caption or keywords) in multiple pictures at once ?

I would like to make a filter of places like NYC, London and some pictures have no GPS data, I would like to put blocks of pictures with the same metadata to do so.
Thanks!

You can easily add keywords to selected Images ("Metadata ▹ New Keyword", and several other ways).
You can easily add Location information to selected Images ("Metadata ▹ Assign Location ... ").  (Some information here.  This topic is not thoroughly covered in the User Manual.)
You can Lift & Stamp keywords.  You can Lift & Stamp Location information.
Note that you can stamp only what you want.  Delete the lifted items in the Lift & Stamp HUD which you don't want to stamp.

  • HOW CAN I PUT A PERMANENT CAPTION ON A JPEG IMAGE?

I have Elements 8 operating (successfully!) with Windows 7.  How can I put a caption on the Jpeg that will actually appear on the photo and will show on a print?  I would like the caption to run along the bottom of the image.  I believe that using the "Title" feature in Pre Elements will not imprint itself on the jpeg file image.  Am I right?

    Hi,
Use the text tool.  Make a box in the approximate location you wnt the caption, choose a font and size, and type the caption into the box.  You can then use the move tool to fine-tune and adjust the location.  When satisfied, you can flatten and save the image.  Hope this helps.

  • How can I transfer the metadata templates and keywords from one computer to another? Working on a new iMac CS6?

I've just changed computers and upgraded to CS6. I am trying to import my Bridge metadata templates and keywords. I had done this once before but I can not remember the procedure for doing this. I have created a lot of templates and do not want to do this all over again. Any and all help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance. Kevin

    komphoto,
The keywords file is buried deep inside the INVISIBLE user Library, or "~Library" (that's a tilde before the word Library, which designates the User Library, a.k.a, the Home Folder Library).
In order to make it visible temporarily, you have to go to the Finder, then go to the "Go" menu and select the "Go To Folder…" menu item, and type ~Library in the text field.
That will open a new Finder window which will be grayed out to indicate that it's normally hidden.  From there you can follow the path:
Note that I'm not saying this will work.  I have never done it myself.  I'm just trying to clear up the confusion caused by the previous poster.

  • Remove keywords from multiple pictures -  how to??

REMOVING keywords from multiple images doesn't work here on Aperture 2.1.1. I select multiple pictures, remove a common keyword from the list in the Metadata inspector and... only the keyword from the picture which I selected last is being removed. All other pictures still have the keyword attached. Edit > Primary Only is not 'turned on'.
    What did I miss?

Go to 'Window' > 'Show Keyword Controls'.
In the text box, write the keyword that need to be removed from all selected images and press SHIFT + ENTER.
If you use the Keyword Button Sets, you can also click on the keyword to be removed while holding down the SHIFT- key.

  • How do I put all of my iTunes music from multiple computers / devices onto one external hard drive?

I have two desktop macs, a macbook air, two iPads, and two iPhones.  I have one Apple account that I use for all music - including music my college aged kids download.  My problem is that I would like to get all the music into one library, delete the duplicates, then have the external drive store all the music.  Is there a practical way to do this?  This way I can set up my devices so that they all have the same music and playlists.  Is this the best way to handle this situation?

The cheap and easy way is to just add all the media files as new items to a new library configured to store all on the external drive (start iTunes with the option key held down and tell it to create a new library on the external).  There won't be any automated way to prevent duplicates.  You're doing manual spring cleaning.  Of course if you add all the items as new items you will lose things such as playlists, date added, last played, etc.

  • How do I delete multiple pictures at once from the cloud.

I have over a thousand pictures to delete. Doing them one at a time. Is very time consuming.

You can use the control key to highlight multiple pictures or videos. Then under Manage at the top you can delete them all at once.  There is a problem because the pictures are small and it's hard to tell which is the best picture out of the five someone took but you can look at them by double clicking before you select the ones to delete.

How do I put a copyright mark and initials on my picture usng Adobe Elements 12?

Select the T tool and click on the part of your image where you wish to add the copyright.
On windows hold down Alt and on the numeric keypad  type 0169
The copyright symbol only appears when you release the Alt key.
Add your name or initials. Save using a new copy file name so that you don’t permanently change your original.
On Mac OSX Press the "alt" key (or "option") and hold it down while typing "g" on the keyboard to create the © symbol.

how can I get rid of multiple pictures at the same time?

Adobe Bridge, lightroom and your file browser (windows explorer or Mac Finder) can select multiple pictures at once and then delete. If you are looking for more than that for information, you will need to be more specific at what your doing, what OS you have, and version of software your using. If necessary post screen shots so we can see what your doing. The more information we have the more detailed of an explaination can can give back to you.

  • Aperture 3: How to apply keywords to multiple photos?

    Hi,
I'm trying to apply keywords to multiple photos at once but if I select several photos and add a keyword in the 'metadata' panel it just gets applied to one of the selected photos, not all of them. Is this a bug or am I just doing it wrong?
    Thanks,
    Sam

    I see,
But that requires that said keyword already exists which slows down the workflow when you're dealing with lots of new keywords, or even existing ones if you have lots and lots of keywords instead of just typing in a keyword (and it perhaps auto-completes). Also I'm somewhat of a keyboard-centric user
    Thanks for the suggestion,
    Sam

  • How can I put captions in a pdf slideshow in Photoshop Elements 13?

How can I put captions in a pdf slideshow in Photoshop Elements 13?

Tags are independent of PDF page content. Removing/deleting a page or page(s) does not remove anything in the PDF's structure tree.
As Full Check is looking at the structure tree the report reflects what is present there.
In the Tags panel walk the structure tree to locate the Table tags. Delete these.

  • How can I read out metadata for captions from a Canon photo

I have to tried to find an answer via Adobe and Google. Still not able to figure out on how to read out XMP metadata for captions out of my photos. Checking the XMP data in InDesign shows info on Camera Make, Exposure etc. But if I use metadata fields from "Caption Setup" like "Camera" the caption shows <No data from link>. Fields where the XMP field name matches (e.g. "Lens") are ok. I need following fields for the caption: Camera Make, Exposure (aperture and speed) and ISO.

    Lets keep it simple then.
If I take my utf file generated and open and view it in notepad I can see the accented characters. But if I open it in Wordpad , the accented characetrs are corrupted.
If I then save the file specifiying type Ascii, then the characters are written out correctly.
What I want to do is to be able to write out the file in ascii format without having to open it in utf-mode and then having to save it in ascii.
Ie I want the file to be opened in ascii format
All the characters to be written in Ascii format
But the source is still a unicode database.
I have gone through using convert and characters get lost. In fact, at this stage, I'm not sure its possible to do What I need to do.
Remember I am using an 8 bit character set which is why I have values above 127.
So basically if you take the word 'Annulé'
if I view it in wordpad it displays as
    Annulé
But if I view it in notepad it displays as
'Annulé' which is because notepad detects that the file has a utf-8 character in it.
When I save it as type ascii I can then open it correctly in wordpad.
So I basically want to open this file in Wordpad and have it display Annulé rather than the garbled characters,
without having to go through the process of opening and saving the file as type ansi.

Not sure when it started, but I wanted to share the functionality for captions on/off IS NOW ONE BUTTON, ONE TOUCH!  Press the red "C" button on your remote, and presto! I especially want to give credit to ATT Uverse and specifically, CEO Randall Stephenson and Jennifer Strohl in his office for their tremendous commitment to making CCs truly functional for deaf and hard-of-hearing customers. In 2011, I sent a letter to Mr. Stephenson, asking for his help with making this service more usable.  At the time of my writing, it took 24 clicks to turn captions on and 23 to turn them off.  Last fall, we discovered the Zoom button mentioned in earlier posts, which had significantly improved the number of clicks.  Only this week, we discovered, by accident, that the red "C" button now works -- exactly as we had specifically requested it might when we wrote back in 2011.  As the spouse of a hard-of-hearing person, I am strenuous in my efforts to get companies and broadcasters to improve CC functionality in all ways -- and UVerse has come through in flying colors.  I am grateful - and delighted - to see ATT's commitment to inclusion in this specific instance.  In addition, would like to see the CC remain on the screen when you hit :"Pause" button.  It disappears now.  It worked with Cox Cable. chiefdore

  • How do I put all the songs from a compilation album into the same /album/folder in Itunes v12

How do I put all the songs from a compilation album into the same /album/folder in Itunes v12 i know in other versions it was via get info but as all of the tunes have the same album title , I am not sure what tio change to achieve this ?

I don't see your screenshot but I assume you're starting with something like this, i.e., the compilation split into multiple albums:
If you select all the items that you want to be in a single album, right-click > Get Info you'll see this:
As you say, in iTunes 12 you don't see a field to enter a distinct Album Artist value.  You can, however, address this by clicking the Add Field button and selecting Album Artist:
That makes the field available in the metadata dialog so that you can enter the required value:
You can also show the pre-iTunes 12 version of the dialog by holding the SHIFT key when selecting Get Info - this allows you to enter the Album Artist directly:
