How do i put album art with a song?

exactly as the subject says
how do i put album art with a song?

In iTunes go to Edit>Show artwork and a pane will open below yor source list. Click on the song you want the artwork against then locate the artwork file you want to add and drag it to the pane. You can find many more iTunes "HowTo" tips here: http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/howto/

  • How Do I put Album Art into my music files for Zen V Pl

I have a Zen V Plus and don't know how to put album art on songs that are already on the player...
Please Help MeMessage Edited by kmn755 on 2-03-200706:47 PM

You have to append the artwork to the actual music files themselves. What I do is search Amazon.com for the album that the songs are off of, click the artwork so it expands and then right click the larger artwork and COPY.
Then in iTunes go into "get info" on the song, and paste the artwork in the artwork tab. This will append it to the file. Yeah yeah i know it isn't technically legal to "copy" the artwork but I honestly don't give a rat's a$$ about doing it and neither should you.
(...cue finger-waving "shame on you, you're breaking the law" post...)
Then once you transfer this song you put the artwork on to your nano, it should show up there when you play the song. At least this works for me on my 30GB iPod video.

  • How can i view album art above the songs in the new itunes format?

i liked how you could view the artwork for a song above the list and it seems like that option is unavailable in this new itunes version. Why??

Not a great solution, but you can completely remove the album art if you reduce the width of your itunes window.... as you reduce the window you get to a point where the artwork disappears.

  • How do I put a photo with a song embedded on the page........

I finally figured out how to put a song with a photo on top on my iWeb Photo Page. What I can't figure out now is how to arrange all the photos so that this is not on top of any other photo. If I move a photo, another fills the spot. But my song/photo sits on top of a photo. How can I have it have it's own space? Thanks for any help! Judy

Thank you. I really wanted to place it in the first space before the photos started but apparently that isn't possible. So I put it somewhere else and I think it is ok. Thank you again for replying! That tip helped me to figure out why it kept covering a photo. Judy

  • ITunes 10.4 can't put album art

Ever since I have updated my iTunes to 10.4 on Windows, it won't let me put album art on my songs or get it from iTunes either. It just shows a white or black box. Anyone know what the problem is?

Well. My first efforts to search for a solution were poorly executed, because I tried again and found lots of answers.
The problem appears to be using a Wacom driver. See the discussion here and (same thread) here and here. No idea when that will be fixed. I use a 8 or 9 year old Graphire, and drivers have been a problem for most of those. Sigh.
But this experience also made me learn that you can right click to add selections to a playlist.
I even learned how that first column works, which I never knew before.

  • How do I put ablum art on my Z

I just bought a ZEN 2gb recently, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to put album art on it. I know it's possible though, because one (just one) of my songs had album art for a bit, until I resynched and then it was gone. I've tried using WMP and MediaMonkey, but neither are working for me. Any idea on how I could get album art onto my ZEN?

Album art can also be embedded into the file itself as an MP3 ID3 tag, which is a good idea if your music files on your comptuer aren't well organized - by artist, then album for example. Or, if some of your folders are just random songs. Storing the art as part of the mp3 file itself is probably the best way for your situation. If one JPG file in your library is called folder.jpg, it will be picked up as the art for other files in that folder too.
You'll need to find and use some software that let's you edit the ID3 tags, including, adding album art. This page is a good description of the MP3 ID tag standard : What is ID3v2?
You'll need to invest some time cleaning up your files' tag info and will need some software to do that. Media Monkey is one I use and recommend. The article here talks about the Album Art part of the standard music file tags known as ID3
[url="http://lifehacker.com/software/album-art/alpha-geek-whip-your-mp3-library-into-shape-part-ii-+-album-art-23476.php">Whip your MP3 library into shape, Part II - Album art[/url]
Basically, you point media monkey to your music library and it allows you to choose each song or album in your collection and edit the ID3 elements of your songs, including, track name, genre, artist, and album art. I don't have experience with WMA files as all mine are MP3, but I think you can use tagging software to insert ID3 elemetns to WMA formats too.
After the files in your computer are cleaned up, synching them to your Zen again should now bring across the updated info, including the Art.

  • How can I show album art in the mini player when playing songs from a plugged in iPhone?

How can I show album art in the mini player when playing songs from a plugged in iPhone?
When I play from my phone and switch to the mini player it's always showing the music notes in the thumbnaill. It'd be nice if it could get album art off of the phone.
    I'm on iTunes version 11.0.4.4

    He @mracole,
it is very nice that you post a solution to complete the library with artwork for album's that do not have an artwork. Your solution perfectly addresses the problem for assigning artwork, BUT this thread is about CHANGING artwork for albums already uploaded into iTunes Match. Just try to replace for example a blue artwork cover for an album with a red one. If you made it in a simple way (without deleting the album from iTunes Match and local changes on the files with an external ID3-Application or 2 or more iTunes libraries on different Mac's) this is the right place to give a solution. I really tried for hours to change the artwork to make them visible in landscape cover flow mode on my iPhone5. In rare cases I made it, but then the covers sometimes where restored to the old onces - exacly how it is mentioned by Starhawk
As long as there is no simple way to change the cover of an iTunes Match stored album (you can change title, artist and so on without hitting "update iTunes Match" over all distributed Library on different devices - this date will be synchronized almost instantly) I considered the behaviour from iTunes as BUGGY! For me the local artwork cache (and if there is any iCloud artwork cache - I don't know) do not interfere with iCloud. Even when I delete the whole local cache (album artwork music - everything) I do not manage to change the artwork.

  • How do you add album art in iTunes 12? everything I've tried doesn't work

how do you add album art in iTunes 12?

    Two methods:
Right-click on the album, select Get Album Artwork.  iTunes will determine whether this album is available from the iTunes Store and, if so, download the artwork image from the Store and associate it with the media files.
Right-click on the album, select Get Info and then the Artwork tab,  Then:
click the Add Artwork button, navigate to and select an image file on your computer, or
drag and drop an image file from your computer to the Artwork tab, or
copy an image to the clipboard (for example, from a web page) go to the Artwork tab and press Ctrl-V (there's a bug in iTunes 12.0.1.26 such that right-click > paste does not work here
For the second method, you can also access the "old style" editor window from iTunes 11 by holding down Shift as you right-click > Get Info.
Lastly, there are three cases in which you can follow these procedures but artwork is not correctly associated with or embedded in your media files:
your media are in a format that doesn't accommodate embedded artwork - typically WAV files.  To embed artwork you'll need to convert to another format - Apple Lossless or AIFF if you want to preserve lossless quality, AAC or MP3 otherwise.
your media files are read only - to fix this, use Windows Explorer to find the folder that contains your files, right-click and select Properties.  On the General tab there's a check box labeled "Read-only" - if this is checked, or is grey (sometimes blue), click the box so that the flag is unchecked and the box is white.  Click OK, and then OK again when the "Apply changes to this folder, subfolders and files" option selected.  Now try adding the artwork again.
Windows permissions issues are preventing iTunes from updating your media files (there's some anecdotal evidence of a change in this behavior in iTunes 12).  See turingtest2's notes on Repair security permissions for iTunes for Windows for advice on fixing this, then try adding the artwork again.

  • ***** How do I remove album art? **

I want to remove the album art of all songs on my Zen V Plus, but I have no idea how.
I've already tried to remove it with MediaMonkey, but on every song it says it doesn't contain album art.
I also have searched all maps of my MP3-player for small jpg-files, but I couldn't find any.
Could someone please tell me, how I remove this (annoying) album art? Thank you so much!Message Edited by Timety on 0-27-20070:08 AM

  • How do I Replace album art in ITunes 12

How do I replace album art in ITunes 12. Before the upgrade I was able to delete and paste a new one in get info. No can do now!

The new iTunes 12 Get Info dialog lacks right-click context menus (at least for now) but it still accepts most standard keyboard shortcuts and drag & drop actions.
    Delete Artwork
On the artwork tab of Get Into, tap the image in question, use Backspace or Ctrl+X. Delete doesn't work.
Or, tap the image at the top left of Get Info, this time use Backspace or Delete, it is Ctrl+X that doesn't work.
    Add Artwork
Select artwork, press Ctrl+C to copy, tap the centre of the Artwork tab, press Ctrl+V to paste.
Or, select artwork, press Ctrl+C to copy, tap the small image area at the top left, press Ctrl+V to paste.
Or, you can drag & drop to, or sometimes from, the same locations.
You can also copy artwork from the Get Info dialog to Windows Explorer with the keyboard shortcuts.
If the source image is on a web page right-click and use Copy Image rather than copy. (With Chrome I get a one pixel wraparound so tend to go for a temporary local copy anyway - not sure whose bug this is, but it isn't new.)
If you have multiple images embedded drag the one you want to be the primary artwork to the leftmost position.
    Replace/Remove All Artwork
The top left image box can be used to add or delete art from multiple tracks. In either case all existing artwork in all tracks is replaced/removed.
    Old Style Get Info Dialog
Select some items, right-click, hold down shift, then click Get Info from the context menu. (Use alt/option on a Mac)

  • Does iTunes take album art with it from computer to computer?

I am going to transfer my entire iTunes library to a new computer in a few weeks. Will iTunes automatically take all my album art with it to the new computer, or will I have to have to find it all again?
I listen to mainly classical music, so iTunes has a hard time finding most of my album art. It was a painstaking process of searching amazon.com for hours to get most of the album covers...I'd hate to have to do it again.
Thanks in advance to anyone who has experience with this!

I'm resurrecting this old thread because the question wasn't answered and I face the same problem. I want to copy my music from my external HD to an internal HD and want the album artwork I've painstaking downloaded from Amazon and other sources (cduniverse, google image search, etc) to be preserved. By "album artwork", I mean that I've dragged the image into the album artwork box in the lower-left of the iTunes window - I haven't embedded it into each individual track's ID3 tag area.
Using "consolidate library" followed by an iTunes-initiated copy isn't what I want. Let me explain why.
Currently my large collection of MP3's is on an external H.D. but doesn't live in the iTunes folder. The top-level folders are -
    \iTunes
    \My Music\_A-D
    \My Music\_E-J
    \My Music\_M-R
    \My Music\_S-Z
    \My Music\CLASSICAL
    \My Music\SOUNDTRACKS
    \My Music\VARIOUS
... and under each top-level folder there are artist\album folders containing the actual music.
If I consolidate, everything will be merged into artist\album format under iTunes, which will me more of a pain to navigate outside of iTunes. Instead, I want to preserve the current \My Music structure.
Right now I keep the \iTunes folder and \My Music on the external HD which I mount as "T:" under Windows XP SP2 on my home PC, my laptop, or my office PC. That way iTunes works fine in all three places. But I'd like to copy the whole library onto the internal "E:" drive of my home machine or my office machine and have the library look like it does now, with artwork intact.
But I'm pretty sure if I just do the copy that I'll lose all the album artwork, since it must reference files on the external HD T:\[etc] explicitly, which won't exist when I copy the database to the internal HD E:\[etc] and eject the external HD.
Does anyone know how to do this? Are there 3rd-party tools which can re-reference the album artwork database before or after the copy?

  • Blurry album art with iTunes 11

So i got very blurry album art with iTunes 11. It seems to scale album art wrongly with my screens resolution, which is 1920x1080.
When i make iTunes smaller the album art is fine and not blurry.
I didn't have this problem with 10.7 as it had the slider for customizing album art size.
So what can I do to change this?

What is the competition you're referring to?
I use itunes as a database and a jukebox.I embedded thousands of jpegs into my HUGE itunes library so that while I'm playing a music file I can see who's playing what.In the earlier version of itunes I could have all the information as well as all the music in one place on one external hard drive.
The ability to expand front and back lp covers or scroll thru the entire cd booklet is a great feature that iTunes has now eliminated. My project using itunes was to completely digitize my music collection-all the music files and all the lp covers/cd booklets etc. I have spent the last five years at least working on this.Luckily I have all my jpegs in a separate folder outside of itunes so my endless scanning has not been totally in vain.I know better than to put all my eggs in one basket...
Please tell me what program or software can do what iTunes used to do and I will gladly use it.
Or if apple would offer the earlier versions of iTunes(with the eliminated features) for power users like me that might be better than nothing.
Eventually when I get a new mac I will be forced to use the current version of itunes,I won't have a choice....
Maybe by then, the competion will come up with what I'm looking for... thanks for reading.
