i have 1 album but all the songs are not together how do i put them as 1?

Generally setting a common Album title and Album Artist will fix things.

If you "Get Info" on the tracks that are part of your collection, you can use the Compilation option in iTunes.
In iTunes 8 and later, you find the option to mark multiple items as "Part of a compilation" in the Options tab of the Multiple Item Information window.

You're not very clear in stating your problem. Maybe it's terminology: "takes" in recording lingo (and in GB lingo) are different version of exactly the same part in a song, so you only want one of them in the end. Please tell us exactly what you did and what it is that you don't like.

Create a playlist in iTunes with the songs you want. When choosing music for your slideshow in iPhoto, select the playlist, and not the individual songs.

Itunes rearanged my albums -- how do I put them back together?

I just installed itunes on Windows XP. When it created the itunes library from the music that I already have on my computer, it would take an album and separate each song by a different artist into its own album. i.e. One soundtrack was separated into 15 different albums each with one song in it. If an album had a song featuring a guest artist, that song got removed from the album and placed by itself into its own album. Is there a way to fix this so that my albums are intact? I have a lot of music and cannot rearrange it all by hand.

How can I put old albums into Photo Stream?

It used to be so easy to synch photos to my various devices: iPod touch, iPhone, iPad from my computer using iTunes. I could select the albums I wanted on each device, and there they were! But, iTunes now tells me that it no longer synchs photos. When I go to iPhoto and try to put old photos in the Photo Stream, it takes forever, and the photos in an album are all scrambled. It's like starting over. There has got to be an easier way -- what is it?

How can I put my Albums on iWeb into a certain sequence?

I publish albums from iPhoto to iWeb, but there they appear in random order, not in the order I gave them in iPhoto, which reflects a chronological order.

How to avoid importing duplicate albums?

Is there a way to "watch" a folder for new music so that it automatically is imported into Itunes? I like to rip CDs using Windows Media Player and store them on an external hard drive in "My Music" which then contains sub-folders for each artist. If I add new music, I have to remember to import it into Itunes, album by album. Otherwise, if I import the whole sub-folder, Itunes will import music, that I imported earlier, creating duplicate files which are tedious to delete. Is there any way to set Itunes to filter music already int he Itunes library? Ideally, Itunes would automatically "watch" the "My Music" folder for newly added music, but I dont' see that setting.

I am using the downloader preferences in the organizer:
- menu 'Edit'
- 4th option: camera or card reader
- I check the bottom checkbox to copy only new pictures (ignore already imported files)
Note that depending on Elements versions and OS platforms, that may not work for everybody...

If you had read carefully, Migration Assistant asks what you want to do in this event. That would have precluded the redundancy.
Part of the fundamental design of OS X is to separate user accounts so that one user can't interfere with another. It's not possible to directly merge an account with another, but you can copy whatever you need to the Shared folder - it is in your Users folder.
Log in to one account, prefereably a smaller one, and drag the files and folders into Shared. Log out, log into the account you want to be "primary" and drag the files from Shared into their appropriate locations. When you have copied everything you need delete the redundant account.
Do this for each of them.
Or, you can just run Migration Assistant again and follow the prompts that address the situation you described. It involves creating a secondary, temporary account from which you can administer the transfer. When it is complete you delete the temporary account(s).

The surest way would be to burn the two songs to CD. Then reinsert the CD and let iTunes pick it up. Next, select the two tracks. From the Advanced menu, select "Join Tracks". Then set the album name and artest. Now, import the CD. One file should have been generated.
If you don't have CD burner and the files are MP3s, there is a handy little program called MP3 Joiner. I used it to combine multiple CDs (one MP3 file per CD) into fewer files. I've computer a 29 CD audiobook into four files with the length of 9+ horus each.

When I import music from a cd, often it is broken into pieces if there is a collaboration on that song. For example, Santana's Shaman album is almost all collaborations with various artists so it is imported as a huge number of separate albums.

That's what the "Album Artist" field is for. The track artist can have all kinds of variations (especially with Santana!), but the Album artist should be "Santana" for all of the tracks and that will keep the album together. If the Album Artist field is left blank, you will get the behavior you have described.
I usually answer "no" when iTunes prompts me to import the CD when it auto-detects one... then I edit the Album Artist (which is almost never automatically filled out), then I import the CD.
You can edit all of the CD tracks simultaneously by selecting all of the track, right clicking and selecting Get Info. You can also add artwork at that point if you have specific artwork you want iTunes to use... I usually get mine from AlbumArtExchange.com.
If you don't edit the info before importing the CD tracks, you can sort by "date added" after importation to get all of the tracks you've already imported grouped together and edit the Album Artist field there.
You can see below that "Guitar Heaven" stays completely intact in all views even though there are many track artist variations.
