How do I put my Tab Strip up beside my Firefox button?

I have one computer that is a Windows 7. On that computer my Tab Strip is beside my Firefox button, at the very top. Beside it I have added cut, copy, paste, and print icons. I just got a new computer and it is Windows 8. The Tap Strip is one level down, essentially taking up more space and leaving useless, empty space at the top. It also will not let me add any icons there. How can I get the new computer set up like the old one?

The Firefox button and tab bar appear on the same row when the window is maximized. If you want the same thing when the window size is normal ("restored"), install the following add-on.
* https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/tabs-always-in-titlebar/
The above is no longer needed in the upcoming Firefox 29. Anyone interested in removing the gap at the top in that version of Firefox should have a look at the following thread.

  • How do I put my tabs back up beside the orange firefox drop down menu?

    I have an Acer Mini. In order to optimize screen space, I closed most of the toolbars down, leaving the navigation bar and the tabs on top. They appeared in the blue space beside the orange "firefox" drop down menu. I turned away from the laptop to tend to my baby and when I turned back, my 2 yr old was mashing keys. I don't know what he did, but now I can't get the tabs back up there.

    Upper-right corner of Firefox, hit the center of the 3 buttons to Maximize the browser window.

    Please tell me how can I put Bookmarks for all pages opened in Firefox.There was an option ("bookmark all pages") which vanished.

    It moved to tab contextual menu :
    Right-click on any tab -> Mark all tabs (or something close, my FF is not in english).

  • Where is the "firefox button" that is used to change tab location ("click on the Firefox button, go over to the Options... arrow and uncheck Tabs on Top. ")

    Where is the "firefox button" that is used to change tab location ("click on the Firefox button, go over to the Options... arrow and uncheck Tabs on Top. ") (from article).
    The "Tools" menu has an "Options" selection, but I cannot find in any of those menus a selection controlling the location of the tabs. Where is the "Firefox Button" referred to in the article "Why are tabs on Top?"

    If you turn on the classic menu bar, that replaces the orange Firefox button. To get the Firefox button back, right-click the menu bar to display the toolbars list, and uncheck Menu Bar.
    You can always temporarily display the classic menu bar by tapping the Alt key or pressing F10.
    The toolbar list pop-up also lets you control Tabs on Top.

  • How can I put the tabs back under my toolbar?

    I stupidly set firefox to automatically update, and the newest version has fundamental UI changes that I absolutely hate with the fire of a thousand suns. I want my tabs back where I had them, directly over the content of the page, underneath the address bar and my quicklinks bar, the only place the tabs should ever be. The exact place where the information the tabs provide ("What page am I looking at?") is the most useful. Only someone with a severe head injury would think the tabs should be way up at the top of the application. They provide no useful information at the top of the screen. Placing them directly above the content they control is the most sensible place for the tabs to be.

    You can use any of the following add-ons.
    * https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/tabs-on-bottom/
    * https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/fdgueux-tabs-on-bottom/
    * https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/
    If you don't want to install an add-on, put the following style in the ''userChrome.css'' file and restart Firefox. You can use [https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/stylish/ the Stylish add-on] instead, if you have it installed.

  • The new toolbar lineup in recent versions of Firefox is bad. How can I put the tab listing back where it belongs, as in v3.6?

    Never mind. I found where the answer was hiding.

    You can also open the Bookmarks menu via Alt+B to see the Bookmark All Tabs item. It isn't show if you use the mouse to open the Bookmarks menu.

  • How to Get Rid of White Stripe At Top of Firefox Browser

    I have the current version of Firefox installed. Recently, perhaps with the most recent install, I'm not exactly sure, a white stripe appeared at the top of the browser, right under the search and URL boxes at the top of where websites would normally show, a white stripe about a 1/2 inch thick has appeared. Not on every single site, google.com works fine, but for example, it blocks out the home, connect, discover and me tabs on Twitter. Or if you go to mozilla.com, the tabs at the top of the mozilla site briefly show, then are blocked by the white bar. You can't click on any of them, even if you have your mouse pointed at the right spot. You can refresh the screen and they'll briefly show again, but not long enough for you to click on anything.
    I've run a number of search engine queries trying to find out how to get rid of this problem, but I'm only finding resolutions for webmasters, not for end users who have to deal with this problem on the other end of the browser.
    Anyone know how to get rid of this nuisance? I'm about ready to uninstall Firefox because its useless on many sites with buttons and tabs on top.

    I shut down all but one of the extensions, and that seems to have resolved the problem. Thank you!
    Now to figure out which extensions I need, and which I don't, because I don't have a clue. I don't remember installing most of these, I only recall one or two (nothing looks spammy like funmoods, but still don't remember when or why these were added...)

  • How do I access open tabs from other devices in Firefox 4 for desktop (windows version)

    I want to see the open tabs from other devices but I can't find how to access it.
    Where do I find them in firefox 4?
    I use the windows version.
    Thank you!

    This is for all versions (image attached below):
    1. In the top navigation (you might have to press the ALT key to reveal the menu), navigate to '''History - Tabs From Other Computers'''
    2. Alternatively; open a new tab and type '''about:sync-tabs''' then press enter.
    NB: When you open a tab in the 'Tabs From Other Computers' window it '''WILL NOT''' remove that tab from the other device.

  • How do I make pinned tabs start everytime I open Firefox 4 on Mac??

    When I start up my Macbook, I want to have Firefox 4 always load up the 4 pinned tabs from prior session but I'm not sure how to do that. Help?

    But I don't want the theme to change, just want the ability to resize the tabs.

  • How do I keep my tabs open when I close firefox? I have tried the method in this site (tools- options- general- when firefox starts... but it didn't work.

    I used to be able to close firefox and have all my opened tabs saved. When I open firefox again, those tabs will be opened as I last closed firefox.
    Now, I am not able to do it. The firefox was crashed at one time earlier and I have to open the task manager to force it to close because it is frozen and so was my computer. After I opened it again, there is no tabs saved which I kinda expected. Then I
    go on web surfing and browse various websites. Now, when I close firefox, a box pops up warning me about the opened
    tabs will be closed. So I googled the symptom and it brought me to this website, telling me that if I set
    "tools->open->general->When firefox starts" to "Show my windows and tabs from last time", it should behave as it was before.
    I tried that but it doesn't work.
    Any help is appreciated.

    In case you use "Clear history when Firefox closes" or otherwise clear history:
    *do not clear the Browsing History
    *Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history": [X] "Clear history when Firefox closes" > Settings
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/remove-recent-browsing-search-and-download-history
    Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, passwords, and other website specific data.

  • How do I stop ALL tabs from going dim when Firefox is not the active WINDOW?

    I think I have read every single post about changing active tab colors, etc, etc. However, where I am frustrated seems to be a little different.
    When Firefox 31 is not the active WINDOW the whole tab bar goes grey (just like the title bar) and the only tab I can read the title of is the active tab. I need to be able to see ALL tab names.
    I don't want to use any add-ons. I just want a simple userChrome.css or about:config option. I have other UI complaints, but this is the only one I care enough about to do anything about. It is making me less efficient, confused, and frustrated.
    Can anyone please help?

    That's good to hear. Good work. Please go to your last post and
    flag it as '''Solved the problem''' so others will know what to do.
    Also, if you want help for the other issues you spoke of,
    Just ask. Good day.

    hi jeetu
    Yes u can make three sub screen in a main screen thru tab strip. You have to use tab strip (with wizard) option on his main screen.
    Step 1: When u choose tab strip and gives a area in screen then u got a screen of tab strip control wizard: start
                Choose continue and put the tab strip name TAB (optional) and select scrolling in the application server option
    Step 2: In the next screen u got the tab text here u can define header text for his screen at least two in your case it's three.
    Step 3: You’re got the three-sub screen and function code u can change them as u required .
    Step 4: Here u defines the program name where u want code in each box and select complete.
    Now u have three-sub screen, which is, define in step 3 with the program name and u can define each screen as u need.
