How do I re-activate old Photoshop CS2

My computer crashed yesterday and having finally got it up and going again, but lost all my programs. I am slowly re-installing them and have found that even though I have installed my CS2 from my disc. it's only giving me 30 days to activate it. However, I can't seem to be able to. I click on the button to activate and it says
Now I bought this years ago and I know it's old, but so am I and I am happy with it.  I do hope someone can help me here.
Thank you

The CS2 activation servers are off-line permanently. See the page below:
http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/creative-suite-2-activation-end-life.htm l
Follow the instructions carefuly to download the new software file(s) from that page. Use the activation code from that page, not your old key, to activate the software.

  • How to renew my license for Photoshop cs2?

I bought a Photoshop cs2 disk years ago and used to work with it without any problem.  However, now the dialog appears saying that I should apply for a new admission to use the license, and , moreover, that I may use a telephone channel.  Here, I finally got to a web site for a chat with you.  Could you help me how to activate my present license?

    Dear Trevor and John,
Thank you for your kind advice. I have realized that cs2 is no longer
    supported.
Since my old iBook G10 is also going to be out of date, I will replace it
for a more recent type with appropriate new soft wares. Thank you again for
    you assistance.

ermm i didnt really understanded that
and yea i know it doesnt belong but i didnt know where to put it.
There's no real place to put a question like this on this forum, especially in the iChat subgroup.
Adobe Photoshop is a very powerful and complex graphics program with a hugh support system including the built-in help menus and online forums. There must be 200 books on the program and even more web sites with information and training for Photoshop. It is beyond the scope of this Apple Leopard user forum to teach you what you should be reading about.
    You can start here: http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.ee6b362/
You can also Google for: macintosh photoshop cs2 "blur tool"
Meanwhile, are you having any issues with your Macintosh computer or the Leopard Operating system?

    Hi all,
I have CC subscription, and have recently upgraded photoshop to CC 2014, how can I uninstall the OLD photoshop CC version?

I usually keep my old versions until I'm certain I no longer need them.

  • How can I select printers in Photoshop CS2?

Hi all. First time poster, as I've just come across a new problem for me....
For years I have been using Photoshop CS2 on a Windows XP machine (in a work environment where old hardware attached to the PC would not allow for an upgrade). I had 4 printers installed (desktop HP, brother labels, richo for bits and bobs and an Epson WFP 9700)
I had the HP desktop selected as default, as this is the one I print to every day. From Word, PDF;s Outlook etc, everything goes to the HP.
When I used Photoshop installed on XP I had an option form within Photoshop to select printer. (Print with preview / Page Setup / Select Printer)  I would often design some artwork and print in draft mode on the HP, then swap printer within CS2 and select the Epson to print a 44"  etc.
I have today upgraded to a Win 7 PC (Xeon 5450 dual quad core) and used the very same installation package to reinstall CS2 on the new machine. There is no longer the option to choose printer from WITHIN Photoshop. I have to set the default printer from within windows before I can use it in CS2. This is incredibly annoying as I frequently swap between two printers from within the application.
So...does anyone know how I can get that option back? Swapping from within windows is not a solution; this is in a work environment and needs to be accessible from Photoshop.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks, Andy

Officially, Adobe no longer supports CS2 and doesn't recommend using it on newer operating systems since it pre-dates them all by several years.    Can you install CS2 in XP Compatibility Mode?  Even then, some features may not work right. It's too old.

  • How do I straighten images using Photoshop CS2?

Can someone please tell me how I straighten images like horizons and buildings using Photoshop CS2?
I run the software under Windows XP
    Thank you.

What I do is press Ctrl-T which activates Free Transform. I press Ctrl-" which turns on the grid. I can then rotate the file to correct a drooping horizon, or I can Right-Click on the image to activate the contextual menu, and select Skew. In that mode, I can grab a corner and drag it up or down, right or left, to shift or tilt the image.
Another way to level horizons is to use the Measure tool and from the menu, <Image>, <Rotate Canvas>, <Arbitrary>. You use the Measure tool to draw a line from one part of the horizon to another. When you click Arbitrary you'll get a little dialog. Click <OK> and the image rotates. You'll need to deal with cropping next since your image no longer fills the corners.

  • How to import B & W from Photoshop CS2

Hi, I'm new to this forum, so be gentle! <g>
I'm trying to make a slideshow, mixing color and black-and-white images. All of these images are scanned, from prints or slides. The b&w images are then converted from 16-bit RGB to 8-bit grayscale, then edited in Photoshop CS2, then imported into iPhoto.
(Just as a sidenote of possibly dubious relevance, the color images begin digital life as 16-bit, the grayscale as 8-bit.)
These images look fine as 8-bit grayscale images in CS2, but when I import them into iPhoto, either in a batch, or individually, they show up as black rectangles. If I click on the rectangle, I see a negative of my image.
This used to work ok, before I upgraded both to CS2 and iPhoto 6. How can I get this to work again?
I have both a 15-inch G4 Powerbook, and a dual 2.7 GHz G5 PowerMac, running the current system and the same version of all software. The PB has 2 GB of RAM, the tower 3.5 GB.

    Hi! Thanx for your response.
It is not clear that he has imported it as wmv or pdf, but the slideshow has to be imported in such a manner that it can still be edited (Captions, effects etc.)
Creating a wmv or pdf will not allow the same.
    Any Ideas?

  • HOw can I transfer my old photoshop cs version 8 onto my new computer?

I have an older mac computer (10.4.11) with Photoshops cs version 8.  Id did not get transferred onto my new mac computer, so i had to buy Elements when I got the new one.  I am very much missing the "pen" tool!  Is there any way I can upgrade my photoshop cs Version 8 and put it on my Mac 10.7 5 so that I can go back to using the pen tool?  Or is there anything that I can substitute for the pen??  The quick select is not discriminating enough, and I can't get it to select my image properly.HELP!!!!

Your in a bit of a dilemma, since photoshop cs (photoshop 8) won't run on mac os x 10.7.5 Lion and photoshop cs is long
out of the upgrade loop for photoshop.
Lion uses an intel processor and photoshop cs is an PowerPC application that needs an PowerPc processor
and lion can't us rosetta to run some older PowerPC applications.
Besides buying photoshop cs6 or subscribing to the creative cloud for photoshop cc

  • My old PS CS2

I want to continue using my old Photoshop CS2, but need to switch to a newer computer. I've heard that Adobe will no longer activate it if it's reinstalled.  I still have the receipt for it, and it doesn't say that my serial number is only good for a limited time.  Will my CS2 Photoshop be activated on the new computer?  if not, what do I do?  I am retiring soon, I'm not putting more money into new Adobes when my old ones still work just fine, so is there a way to get a permanent activation number?.
Thanks for any help or advice,
    jccarp

@c.pfaffenbichler  Thank you for the help, it's very appreciated.
And, Yes, I am sure the old PSCS2 will work with the new computer.  I will keep WinXP and either dual boot with Ubuntu (the lazy way) or run it in a virtual machine.  WinXP has only ever been used to run my Adobe software, nothing else.  It's never been allowed access to the Internet.  I mostly just need it to work for a few more months, just have a few more projects to get through, then I'm finished and so will be the old XP & Adobe system.
    Thanks !

  • Problems installing Photoshop CS2

I have a new laptop and am trying to install my old Photoshop CS2 on it. Since Adobe no longer has the activation server available for CS2, their help agents pointed me to their site where I could download a series of files for CS2 that do not need to be activated - they only needed a serial number (which adobe provided).
    https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/entitlement/index.cfm?e=cs2%5Fdownloads
However, after downloading the series of files (took forever) and launching the first file (D1), it asks me to insert Disk #2. It will not let me access the file. It wants a physical disk. I can only cancel which I do and then try to launch the D2 file which will not launch. I try to start the program and it starts but then encounters an error and exits. Chat agent couldn't help, but instead pointed me to the forums.

Read through this thread, especially post #9.  http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1131001
    Hope this helps.

  • Photoshop CS2 won't install!

    Hello!
I have installed Photoshop CS a long time ago and have been using it ever since, but I would like to install Photoshop CS2 and use that instead. However, whenever I try to install it, the installer always gets stuck on "Running Installer Script" or something like that. I have kept it running for hours, and it never progresses, yet it my Mac never freezes or anything.
Does anyone have any idea on how to go about correctly installing Photoshop CS2? Thank you!

    Installed CS3 instead...
