How do I re-import an original video clip

How do I re-import an original video clip
I want to re-edit a particualr clip (68 secs) and I have cleard the old clip (13 secs). But each time I try to import the original clip it only imports the portion I previously edited ie. 13 seconds.
I have renamed the clip, tried to open it in a new project same thing - PREMIER PRO 5

please be more precise about exactly what actions you took...
by giving very detailed info on what you did (from the beginning, when you first imported "the clip" to Premiere) and what you want to do, you help people, who'd like to help youfinding a solution.
But they need to understand what exactly your problem is.

You would have to export with the correction applied.

Don't edit the audio into the timeline. Or pull the audio level down to zero in the inspector or on the audio waveform in the timeline.

  • How to sync captured JPEG to original video: Are there some Develop settings that won't transfer?

I'm starting with the corrected JPEG and then highlighting the original video so they are both selected, but the JPEG settings are not applied to the video when I Sync Settings -- things like color, sharpening, and noise reduction.

SInce I don't see how to delete my question, I'll answer it.
My first syncs were from Quick Develop. After I made more adjustments in Develop I forgot to add them to the sync list. But, now that I'm doing it over, I see that anytime I have a video included  in the set to sync, noise reduction, sharpening, and other settings aren't available (grayed out). Which says to me: if the sdjustments aren't available when a video is open in Quick Development, then they can't be made.
It's nice that we can get good-lucking captured JPEG frames, but I thought the whole idea was supposed to be a work-around, where further adjustments COULD be made to videos by syncing to the JPEGS. As this was one of the main reasons I upgraded to LR4 immediately (because I had a pending video project), I'm quite disappointed to find LR4 is still so limited in its video processing capabilities!

  • How can i re-import pics and videos from my iPhone after i have deleted them on my PC?

I imported all of my pictures and videos on to my PC into a folder. I accidently deleted the folder. So when i try to import everything again, it says iPhone has no new pictures or videos to import. How can I import everything again?
(I imported everything by right-clicking the iphone on 'My Computer' and clicking 'import pictures and videos').

To import photos on iPhone to computer, you can try these ways:
    1. You can use iTunes to transfer the photos on iPhone to your computer. Install the latest iTunes and connect iPhone to the computer. Then, you'll see your device on the "Computer (disk)" list , click it, you can see all your pictures on the iPad and you can copy it to the PC.
    2. If you have enable iCloud, you can see and copy/transfer the photos you took in the last 30 days on Windows iCloud panel which you have installed on your computer. However, there is an shortcoming that you can not import all photos.
    3. Use a third-party tool.
Really hope one of them can help you. If you need more details, please let me know.

  • How can I stop iMovie Crashing on video clip import

I have only been using iMovie a short time period. Most recently it started to crash every time I tried to manually import a video clip. I've reported it to Apple several times over the past 48 hours. Sometimes I'm just getting ready to import a clip when it crashes. Very frustrating! Here I am a recent Windows convert but I'm about to return to windows just to produce movies (even Windows crashed, but much less). Any thoughts on how to solve this problem would be appreciated.

If you don't get an answer here, you may want to post in the iMovie discussion here.

  • How can I match sound quality between video clips and audio clips?

    Hi guys,
First of all let me say that I enjoy using the latest Media Encoder. However, as a novice, I have two related problems.
1.I am recording video to use with PowerPoint slides in Adobe Captivate. I am encoding the video with best quality FLV. This produces very good video,
but with a degraded audio track, even though I had filtered the audio in soundbooth. The post encoding sounds like it did before Soundbooth corrections.
    2. Some of the video recording has been set cut into audio clips to be used as background narration behind PowerPoint. The logic behind this is: that if both are
recorded at the same time, the voice quality should match.
This is far from the outcome. I have tried MP3 for the audio which of course produced the best sound- but is entirely unlike the rest of the video. I have also encoded the audio with Windows Waveform preset figuring that since the soundbooth edit was a .wav file, that there should be a reasonable match. Wrong again!
So, the audio quality of all clips is poor, and the difference between the encoded video clips, and the audio encoded clips spoils the otherwise professional result in Captivate.
Please help, all of you experts.

    Thank you.
    OS Windows 7 x 64; 3.2 MHz; 2 TB; 12 GB Ram-9GB ram allocated to Adobe.
    My process is this:
    1. The whole video and audio narration material is shot in one continuous video sesseion.
    2. The microphone is only mono, but the camera is set to stereo. Noone can work out how to change the camera to mono.
    3. In Premiere Pro 5, I select render and replace in SoundBooth.
    4. In Soundbooth, I choose Add Multichannels.
    5. In Multichannels, I delete the unwanted noisy channel, and any other unused channels.
    6. With the remaining mono channel, I then select Export and Save As option, then Stereo.
    7. Next I edit the stereo channels as needed.
    8. The imported stereo won't automatically update in Premiere Pro, so in PPR I import the new edited stereo track.
    9. I test this track in PPR, to check that it is playing R & L channels. It is. OK.
10 On the timeline, I proceed to cut apart this single stereo wavelength .
11.These clips are saved as Video, or Audio subclips.
12 From the video subclips, I export to Media Encoder, and choose either FLV4 match attributes (High Q). This I modify to custom 2 pass (Custom save).
The summary says that this is saved to MP3 Stereo.
    13. I import this into Captivate 5, but the Video outcome is Left channel only. I have tested this on Media Player/Real Player where it is also L channel only.
    14. I export my Audio subclips to Media player, and select MP3 option and this summary also reports stereo. The Audio outcome is stereo, when played in any player and in Captivate 5.
I cannot understand how a single, continuous track edited uniformly in Soundbooth to stereo, can produce different outcomes in Media player.
I would so appreciate a solution to this problem, because, in the Captivate 5 e-learning production, the switch between stereo audio (behind PowerPoints), and l. channel video is distracting. Naturally, the l. channel only is a thin sound. It is as if it had never been edited in SoundBooth at all.

  • How to change the contrast of a video clip ?

    Hi there,

I want to adjust the contrast of the video clip that I imported.
When I went to the color board, it only have COLOR, SATURATION & EXPOSURE to be adjusted.
But where is the option to adjust CONTRAST located ?
    Thanks & regards

Sorry Tom, my bad ... how do I open the video scope ?
When I click the video clip in the browser, what shows in the Video tab on the info panel are only:
    1) Color - which upon clicking only have the option to tick & untick the "Balance: Not Alaysed" checkbox
    2) Spatial Conform
    Any ideas ?

  • How to stop the jerking of my video clips? on Premiere Element 10

How do I stop the jerking of my video clips when I add  effetcs ..to do not zoom in or out etc..smoothly.
    Thank-you,
    Claudette

    Claudette,
When you started your Project, from the New Project screen, you were given some choices. If you do not recall what you chose, you can go to Edit>Projects Settings>General, and see what you chose. I do not think that location has moved in PrE 10, but if it has, someone will correct me.
Now, in very general circumstances, one should choose a Project Preset, that matches their Video Source Files 100%, or there can be issues.
However, if one ONLY has Still Images, and there is no Video being used, things differ a bit. In that instance, one would ask themselves a question, "how will I deliver my Video, created from those Still Images?" That answer might be a DVD-Video, a BD (Blu-ray Disc), a streaming Video files on a Web site, or as a file, that one sends to others. With a Stills Only Project, one would most likely choose a Project, that matches their delivery. If there are several delivery schemes used, then I would recommend choosing the one that is the highest resolution, and handling the others with Export/Share.
Now, within all Project Presets, there is a Frame Size, say 720 x 480 for an NTSC DV Project, designed to go to DVD-Video, or perhaps 1920 x 1080 for the production of a BD. Though PrE can Scale large Still Images to fit, it does not do the best job, and there is a major processing "hit," that can bring a computer to its knees. For those reasons, we recommend using a program, such as Photoshop, or Photoshop Elements, to do that Scaling, before one Imports the Still Images into the PrE Project. For SD (Standard Definition) DV, the "rule of thumb" is to Scale to 1000 x 750 pixels. For an HD Project, that same thinking would be 2000 x 1500 pixels. That gives one some "wiggle room." I will actually Scale to the exact pixel x pixel dimensions, unless I have a compelling reason to do otherwise - then, I will calculate the larger size, and Scale to exactly that.
How will you deliver your Project?
What are the specs. of the Project (using the method above)?
What are the pixel x pixel dimensions of your images? If they are random, then concentrate on the larger ones, please.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Importing xbox 360 video clips into imovie 6.0.3sk

Hi, I have an xbox 360 that I would like to import some video clips off of onto my computer using imovie. I have a Powermac G4 with a dual 1.4 ghz cpu, 2 GB of RAM, and lots of HD disk space. I am using an ADS Pyro A/V link for capturing video. I have used this many times in imovie to capture video directly from a TV, VCR, DVD player, etc. For some reason when I hook up the cable from the xbox 360 to the Pyro (using either component connection or composite/RCA connection) and hit play in imovie to preview what's being converted, it can't process it. Sometimes it will show a bunch of pixelated squares, sometimes it won't show anything. Every once in a while it can process the sound, otherwise it doesn't show anything. After a few times, it says the pyro has been disconnected, although it obviously hasn't been. I've also tried directly importing without previewing it during the import, but that doesn't work either. I'm not sure if I need to set something a certain way? But I know you can import from the 360 because there are obviously many video clips floating around the internet taken straight from the xbox.
Anybody know anything about this or have any ideas? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance

Nevermind...I figured it out. There is a little button on the video cable that toggles HDTV on or off. Apparently it has to be off. So if anyone else has this problem, hopefully they can learn from my mistake.

I know they use Java but i'm sure this can be done in Flash.

    Here are the instructions...
    Update firmware with DOS CD
To boot from CD you have to hold down the option key (<alt>) during startup. A HDD icon and a CD should appear on the gray screen. The HDD has the volume name written below and the CD is named Windows. Select the CD and boot to DOS.
Hit <ESC> to skip the README.TXT
Use PG UP/DOWN keys on an external keyboard to scroll through the readme, using arrow keys may lock DOS.
SeaFlash offers some options you should explore before performing the update. If you just want to do it ASAP then hit <D>.
Hit <L> to list compatible drives and FW version. (Column New FW version should state SD24, hit <ESC> to go back to main menu.)
Hit to scan your drive(s). (Shows your model and FW, <ESC> for main menu)
Finally hit <D> to update your Momentus XT to SD24. (takes about 15s to update)
    Power off your Mac.
-- Although it did made sense to what you are saying to just follow Seagate's instructions. But they only had instructions outside the realm of MS Windows is to burn it on a disk and run a cold boot to the disk drive. Otherwise if Seagate did provide detail instruction on how to install this then can you provide me a link?
    Thanks again....

  • Importing and organizing video clips

I have a question about iMovie. I've made a few movies with it but am no pro. I am really anal about organizing my photos, music, videos, etc. and for that I love iPhoto. If i've just taken some pictures on my digital camera but don't quite have a use for them yet I can just name the roll and save them in iPhoto. With iMovie it's a different story. Whenever I hook my DV camcorder up I have been importing the video i took into iMovie, BUT it makes me save it into a project. What if I don't have a project in mind yet that I want to use this footage for but I just want to get it off my camera and store it on my computer or in iMovie for future use and easy access when I do decide to use that footage in a project or a movie I am creating? Any idea or suggestions?

One way is to do it manually. When you import to iMovie it stores the clips in a folder inside the project called "Media" and the video files are usually Clip 01, Clip 02, etc. Ya not very descriptive names, but you could rename them all after importing to give them meaningful names. If you don't need the project other than to import them, then import, rename, then drag and drop those to your storage folder(s). Trash the project or use it again to import more.
Then you can create a generic folder structure to help you organize. Something like this...
    Video Clip Archives
    . . . Vacations
    . . . . . . Aruba
    . . . . . . Disney
    . . . Family
    . . . . . . Kids
    . . . . . . Aunt Martha
    etc.
Inside the folders put the clips in. Give them date names or something to help. Like 060798-01, 060798-02 which would be the first two clips from June 7th 1998 and if they were in the Aruba folder then you know they are from a vacation you took to Aruba in June of 1998.
Nice thing about this system is you are not dependent on some application which may or may not be around years from now and in fact you are not even dependent on having a Mac. You could move this folder structure to another computer since the clips are generic DV formatted files, they can be read on other systems.

  • How can I speed up loading of video clips in Elements 9.0?

    Hi,
I upgraded from 7.0 to 8.0 and was unhappy with the product, so upgraded again to 9.0 (Elements and Premiere). Right now the problem is that it takes 20-25 seconds to load a short video clip, i.e. to play it.
I am running with an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU 2.20 Ghz/2.20+GHz with 3 GB of ram.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

As a practical example it originally took 3 min to load a 1 hour 29 minute wedding & reception I shot in ACVHD 1080x1900. This was using one disk for all PE9 functions.
I defraged my drives and arranged the program and pagefile on one disk (C:), the project on another and recaptured the media onto the third drive
The same project then  took 1 minute to load or if I do it seperately, 20 seconds loading the program and 40 seconds the media
I can move up and down the full length of the long timeline quite quickly.
I have 2.4g core duo and 2mb ram
This is discussed to in many posts in this forum
So you know what to do!
