How do I re-install elements 9?  I have a Mac

When opening elements 9 I get the message that some elements are missing & I need to re-install.  Since I downloaded this product I do not have it on disc.

If you see the system requirement for the photoshop elements 9 then it specifies that you need to have the intel processors.
And that  is the reason you are facing so much issue .

The error "It wont open as it is not the supported architecture" is coming because you are running G5 processor.
I dont know how and why it has worked for you before that would remain a mystery I believe
But if now the only option I can think for you is to upgrade because G5 computer as very old and old the latest application are getting designed to work proficiently on the Intel processor.

    I installed my Photoshop Elements 6 and was going to try to upgrade again from that to see if it would work that way.  I entered the old serial number on the 6 and once it was loaded tried to upgrade but it wants me to purchase it again. Then I found a spot in the help section which if I understand says I could have enteredthe new serial number purhaps.  Now I dont know if I should un-intall the elemnts 6 and re-enter the Photoshop 10 serial number when it asks for it. All this trouble because I restored my laptop for an Office Starter program that wasnt working. Thanks for any help Bonnie

    To open teh zip file you need  a utility , like winzip , 7zip etc You are on teh right track , serial number do work in the trial installation , just open the downloaded file and run the setup.

    Note that LR3 was designed for OSX 10.5 or 10.6. It will run on 10.9 (Mavericks) but there may be some appearance differences to the sliders. But why not give the download a try. Otherwise you may be best to upgrade to LR5 or wait for LR6.

    You could install iTunes on her PC, then sign in using your ID and activate her computer (iTunes menu bar: Store Authorize This Computer) in order to download your previous purchased media files.

    The Early 2006 model 1,1 Core Duo can only run a maximum of 10.6 Snow Leopard. The models Late 2006 Core 2 Duos 2,1 through Early 2008 4,1 can only run a maximum of 10.7 Lion. The Late 2008 model 5,1 Aluminum Unibody through the Mid 2010 White Unibody model 7,1 can run 10.8 Mountain Lion.
    To see which model you have go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info. When System Profiler comes up check the Model Identifier and post it back here.
    The Snow Leopard 10.6 DVD should still be available from Apple for $20. You will have to call Apple Customer Care 1-800-692-7753 or 1-800-676-2775 to purchase it. It may still be in the Legacy Products list.
    If they no longer have any in stock you will have to buy it from eBay or Apple resellers that still have stock. But you will have to pay a premium since the DVDs are no longer being made. Snow Leopard DVDs are already up to $100 on Amazon.

    Once you are at 10.6.8 Lion is still available from Apple. You will have to call Apple Customer Care 1-800-692-7753 or 1-800-676-2775. to purchase it. Then within 3 days you will get an email with a code which you can use to download Lion from the App Store.  The price is still $29. You must have at least a model 2,1 MacBook.
    Lion will require at least 2gb of RAM but really needs 4gb to run smoothly.

    Also Lion doesn't run any Power PC programs. To see if you have any Power PC programs go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info. When System Profiler comes up select Applications under Software. Then look under Kind to see if any of your applications are listed as Power PC. Universal and Intel will run under Lion.
    Before Mac switched to Intel processors in 2006 they used Power PC processors from 1994 to 2005. Power PC 601 through 604, G3, G4 and G5. Applications written for the Power PC processors need the application called Rosetta to run on Intel processors. This was part of the Operating System in 10.4 and 10.5 but was an optional install in 10.6. With 10.7 Lion Apple dropped all support for Power PC applications.

    I have a new MAC and not over familiar with the OS (10.9.2) i have just downloaded Elements 12 but can't figure out how to install it. There is a setup.exe file but that won't run on MAC what am i missing or is there a separate MAC version i should of downloaded vice a windows one ?

    For mac you should have a file ending .dmg not .exe (this is the windows download). Just use the trial: http://www.adobe.com/go/tryphotoshop_elements and license this version with the serial found in the Adobe portal (Find your serial number quickly) Have fun with the software!
