  • How do I manually install Flash Player on my Android device?

Flash Player for Android is no longer available for download from the Google Play app store, but Android users can still download and install Flash Player from the Archived Flash Player Versions page on the Adobe website.  To do so, please watch this instructional video or follow the steps below:
If you are encountering problems using Flash Player, please click here for an HTML5 version of this video: YouTube HTML5 HD Link
Make sure your Android device is connected to the Internet.
    Open the Settings menu.
Select Security (or Applications, on older Android OSs).
Place a checkmark next to the "Unknown sources" check box.
Tap OK to confirm your selection.
    Close Settings.
    Launch the browser.
Search for "flash player archive page" or navigate directly to http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html
On the Archive page, scroll down to "Flash Player for Android archives"
Select a version of Flash Player that is compatible with your Android operating system.
Tap the link to download the Flash Player installer. Download begins automatically.
When download completes, close the browser.
    Open Notifications.
    Tap "install_flash_player.apk"
    When prompted, tap Install.
When installation is finished, tap Done.

Well, it needs one in order to install Flash Player.
Most smart TVs have Chrome OS, which has its own Flash Player built by Adobe, but modified by Google. Nothing can be done with it here.
See: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/alt.tv.tech.hdtv/Sy5SA4mWcX8  for info on how to update it.

I use both browsers, IE & Firefox (on Win 2000). Do I

The above goes for Shockwave too.

Flash Player is no longer supported on Android, however, you can install it manually on your own, or use a different browser in your Android device.

  • "Why can't I install Flash Player on my Tablet?" (Kindle or Samsung Galaxy)

Your tablet (Kindle or Galaxy) uses the Android Operating System.
Adobe stopped ALL development of Flash for Android last year. (July 2012) That includes Kindle as well as Samsung Tablets. Additionally, Samsung and Amazon have ended support for Flash in ALL of their newest tablet models.
The following is from Samsung Support (07/31/2013):
"Beginning August 15, 2012 we will use the configuration settings in the Google Play Store to limit continued access to Flash Player updates to only those devices that have Flash Player already installed. Devices that do not have Flash Player already installed are increasingly likely to be incompatible with Flash Player and will no longer be able to install it from the Google Play Store after August 15th, 2012."
    And from Kindle Support (07/31/2013):
"The Amazon Silk web browser on Kindle Fire 1st Generation supports some, but not all, versions of Flash. Adobe Flash is pre-installed on a 1st Generation Kindle Fire and is disabled by default.
If you see a message to install Flash while using your Kindle Fire, this means that the content you're attempting to view uses Flash. If you want to view the content, you'll need to enable Flash through the Silk settings menu.
If a web page suffers from slow performance due to Flash, or you're unable to view a web page with Flash enabled, we recommend switching to mobile view when browsing a Flash-heavy website to see if that solves your problem:
Some popular websites may also have an app available. Check Amazon Appstore, accessible through the Apps library on your Kindle Fire, for availability.
The Amazon Silk web browser on Kindle Fire 2nd Generation, Kindle Fire HD 7", and Kindle Fire HD 8.9" doesn't support Flash.
Some sites use alternative web technologies to Flash in their mobile versions. We recommend switching to mobile view when browsing a website with Flash content to see if that solves your problem:
Some popular websites may also have an app available. Check Amazon Appstore, accessible through the Apps or Games library on your Kindle Fire, for availability."
    See: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html
There are older versions of Flash Player (for Android) at that link, but there are no guarantees any of them will work.

    Hello,
Flash Player is not supported on mobile devices, and has never been supported on Windows phone.  I am not aware of alternative option for Windows phone users.

  • Can't install flash after full uninstall

    Hello,
Here is my issue: I installed flash debugger some days ago and I wanted to remove it today. I haven't found any method to do that, so I decided to uninstall the flash player and install it again.
I ran the uninstaller from the adobe flash site but that didn't do anything. I made a PC restart run the uninstaller again then deleted all the flash folders in appdata, system32 and sysWOW64. I had to use unlocker program to delete files in system32 and sysWOW64. After all this I restarted my PC and wanted to install the latest update which resulted in an error message that said this update Windows8-RT-KB2982794-x64 isn't compatible with my PC or something like that. Then I uninstalled the windows update KB2982794 hoping it will solve my issue but it didn't because now I get and error saying something like: "this update is unavailable for this computer".
Additional info: Browser latest IE10 on Windows 8, also when I check the "manage addons" tab in IE there is a Shockwave Flash Object under the not available line(I'm not sure it's exactly called by that since my ie not on english language.) and I can confirm that flash is not working in IE now.
Additionally reinstalling ie10 would solve my issue?
Any help would be appreciated and sorry for my English.

    Hello,
Microsoft embeds the Flash Player for Internet Explorer on Windows 8 and above.  It cannot be installed separately.  Based on your statement, it seems you selected the wrong update (Windows8-RT) to install.  If you have an Intel-based Windows 8 machine, you need to get the non-RT update.  RT is a different architecture and the updates for RT cannot be installed on an Intel-based system.
To update Flash Player for Internet Explorer on Windows 8 and above, run Windows Update on your machine by going to the Control Panel, select Windows Update and then, in the upper left, select Check for Updates.  Windows Update may take a few moments to run and identify which updates are necessary.  Depending on what you currently have installed, you may need to run Windows Update a few times, installing the various required updates before the update with the current version of Flash Player becomes available.  The most efficient way to keep Internet Explorer up-to-date with the latest version of Flash Player is to have IE update automatically, however, some folks don't like automatic updates and like to control the updates themselves.  This is perfectly understandable and requires to check for updates regularly (e.g. at least once per month, on the second Tuesday of the month).
If you have non-IE browsers, you can install Flash Player on your own.  Launch the non-IE browser and navigate to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer.  The site will detect the OS and browser and offer the appropriate Flash Player compatible for the browser.  One caveat is that if you have Google Chrome browser, Google embeds Flash Player in Chrome, so you don't need to do anything to install it as its' already present.
    HTH.

That message is just a standard one issued, mainly for Windows users, you can disregard it if you didn't install any anti-virus. (OS X has one installed by Apple that doesn't interfere)
It's just some forms of anti-malware are really paranoid and lock the entire machine down. (like Norton)

  • Has anyone been able to contact Adobe to learn why their Flash Player does not work on Mac OS 10.6.8, no matter how many updates you install?  This seems like a big error by Adobe.

I have thee Mac computers with Mac OS 10.6.8, one of which is a Mac Pro.  No matter how many updates I install from Adobe, their Flash Player does not work on any of these 3 computers.  I don't know how to contact Adobe Systems about this problem, but I think it is their responsibility to make sure that their so-called "universal" software works proplerly on a relatively recent operating system like OS 10.6.8 that is still in widespread use.  When you install the updates, nothing happens -- not even an error message.  What is the point of a universal player that is not universal?  It works fine on my MacBook Pro with OS 9 Mavericks, but it does not work at all -- indeed, has never worked -- on my 3 Macs with OS 10.6.8.  Has anyone contacted Adobe Systems to find out why the Flash Player does not work with OS 10.6.8 and what they plan to do about it?

Where are you getting Flash from?
Get the appropriate dmg installer here and then run it.
    http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html
If it still won't install, do these two things: First uninstall any Flash by going into the second level Hard Drive Library>Internet Plug-ins, and trash the Flash Player.plugin and flashplayer.xpt. Then boot into Safe Boot, Shift at the startup chime (give it much longer than a usual boot) and run the installer while booted in Safe Boot.
