when I click on update on my computer it comes up with an error and it tells me to re-install

How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
I grasp that you are unable to install Windows updates on your notebook.

Everyone I work with that got the Java 1.6.6 update that went out last night has lost the ability to access database servers. We need to un-instill that Java update. Does anyone know how to do this?

The specific database connection problem turned out to be an issue with the MS SQL database driver from Microsoft with this specific Java update. A working open source option can be found at http://jtds.sourceforge.net/ if anyone else runs into this problem.

It's not the OS X update that is the problem, although it did enable Hebrew as a system language. Here are the instructions to get English (I'm assuming that's your preference?) back as the system language. You may need to follow visually as many of your icon labels will now be in Hebrew.
Open System Preferences from the Dock (square icon with cogwheels) or from the Apple menu (4 down from the top).
Click Languages (blue flag on the top line).
In the list (for Hebrew, the list is on the right), locate US English or UK English, and drag it to the top of the list (above the Hebrew line). Close System Preferences. Log out (Apple menu, bottom option).

How to remove the installed JDeveloper Update causing error

I install some webcenter available updates this morning...after restarting the JDeveloper11gR1 I am experiening error.
Can someone tell me how to remove the newly installed update so that I do not experience this errors again?

As the last resort you can rename the systemxx.x.x.x.x. folder and restart jdev again. When you are asked if you like to migrate, answer no as the error is likely to be migrated too.
If this does not help you can uninstall jdev, remove the whole installation folder and reinstall jdev.

Satellite L100 - How to download and install BIOS update?

I bought this Satellite L100 in 2006, and it dawned on me that by now I might need a BIOS update (the laptop sometimes freezes at Startup).
I found an update on the Satellite website dating July 6th 2007 but the download instructions are confusing and the driver(s) simply don't come through. Can someone help me with another link for this download?

What do you mean by uncheck? Do you want to disconnect the HDD or to remove it from the notebook?
In msconfig you can disable (uncheck) the processes which are running in the OS background! You cannot disable HDD in msconfig.

I doubt the HDD connection could cause this Maybe the HDD itself
It would be interesting to know if the same would happen using a new HDD and fresh installed OS. I had a Win XP installed on my notebook. It was a long time since new installation the notebook and OS were soo slowly because many registry keys were corrupted.
I installed the OS again, cleaned the OS using CCLeaner, disabled not necessary background processes and the notebook ran much faster

How do you force install an update in Lion?

I've downloaded and want to re-install the 10.7.2 update, so I need to trick the system into thinking it hasn't been installed before.
In Lion, the Receipts folder doesn't contain packages, so I can't just delete the 10.7.2 package then install.
There is a InstallHistory.plist file in the Receipts folder, and I edited it to change 10.7.2 to 10.7.1, but the update still won't install again, even after a reboot.
What do I need to change or remove to allow the 10.7.2 update again?

I am having trouble updating my Norton antivirus, it tells me that some pieces missing from live update and I need to re install it.

I'd view this as an opportunity to get Norton out of your life. It has caused serious issues with more Macs than it's protected. You're telling the computer to run a marathon with a 100-pound weight tied around its neck.
Norton was great in the old days. Once Norton AV 4 dropped about 1998, things went in the toilet.
Dump it. Use ClamXav if you feel you really must have AV protection. I don't run any AV software on my PowerBook at all and it's quite happy and doing very well considering its age (eight years).

How to install Windows Updates on a 2012 Domain Controller w/Group Policy Settings

Hello All,
I'm having an issue installing Windows Updates on my Windows Server 2012 Standard with AD DS role, acting as a backup DC.
I have Group Policies setup for the Domain Controllers to download updates from my WSUS server but not to install them. When I go to my Windows Server 2003 R2 Domain Controller, I can install updates via the "Install Updates and Shutdown". That
option doesn't show up on the 2012 server. I can see from my WSUS server and the event viewer that the updates are being downloaded to the 2012 server........just no option for me to install the updates.
Am I just missing something or will I need to change the way my Group Policy is setup to allow installs and/or downloads? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

So I've totally removed the GPO settings for configuring updates on the Default Domain Controllers OU and I can get the Windows Server 2003 Server to get updates from Windows Updates, but the 2012 Server still won't show me how to download or install any
updates. It just states on the log-in screen that there are "Windows Updates Sign in and install important updates".
Well guess what Microsoft! I've signed in and still don't see where I can install updates!!!
I guess because you've set AU=3.
There doesn't seem to be much documented in depth about AU/WUAgent (not in the history of forever), but Lawrence and others in the WSUS forum do cover a lot of related question about the agent and also GP settings.
Lawrence has blogged a lot of detail about the registry settings which are available for AU/WU, and how some of those settings are not practically of any use since WinXP.
So, even though your question isn't about WSUS, the WSUS forum is a great place to visit for help for WUAgent etc.
Anyway, "where can I install updates?" :

You can manually download the Combo update if in doubt of the integrity of the OS 10.9.5
install on top of what you have, backups are always a good idea.

I can see if we can get your phone back on! I understand how important it is to have a phone. Have you tried this to see if we can get it back on? http://vz.to/1DZhteH . If it is still goes to a red Verizon screen and then to black we might need to do a master reset.
