Powering I pod touch off and on again? Or un plugging router? Since the other devices work the latter is confusing.
I am afraid of the total test as all my personalizing stuff for a year will disappear right??

Keep getting 'do I want to connect to BT unrestricted network' which I have never used before. I can get my ISP details input but get message 'incorrect password' even though it works with 3 other devices. My network provider, Virgin Media, sent an engineer but he couldn't solve the problem - said network was all ok so problem must be with my iMac (OSX 10.4.11). When I try to use internet I get BTWiFi is current wireless network - I've never used this! Excuse me barging in on the thread, but I have a lot of experience with Telus, and roaming with my BlackBerry (currently a Z10). In short, you've been fed some outdated info by the Telus rep. Telus has become very Android-centric, and it seems like a good number of Telus CSR's are still reading from a Legacy BlackBerry trouble-shooting guide.
My Z10 is unlocked, and I periodically use an AT&T sim when traveling in the US. I have never had to change an email setting to get full email function -- including the SMTP settings. To put it simply, your device first connects to a network using credentials provided. At most hotels, for instance, your device will scan for and pick up a WiFi network. The hotel will tell you the WiFi network name and give you a password to use. You simply enter the password when prompted, then you may have to agree to certain conditions. That's it.
Your email settings are just that. Using whichever network to which you are connected, the user name and password give you access. The settings coincide with the email provider's server settings. These don't typically change with the location from which you are connecting.
I'd suggest you take a look at this very helpful email settings tool provided by BlackBerry, if you are having difficulty: http://helpblog.blackberry.com/2013/03/email-account-validation-tool/
It helps you determine the possible settings for connecting to your email provider. Different providers offer different connection options, sometimes more than one. Opinions vary, but my preference in descending order is: ActiveSync, IMAP, then POP if required. ActiveSync (aka EAS) and IMAP will offer 2-way sync.

How can I restore my data from iTunes? It won't recognize my Password.
The Apple Store reset my iPhone 4 today and told me that I would be able to restore all of my data via iTunes restore. I have been going crazy because the "restore from backup" will not recognize my password. All other aspects of iTunes recognize it, but not Restore. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Zeker99Quit iTunes if it is running. Transfer your iTunes folder from the /Music/ folder on the old computer to the /Music/ folder on the new computer.
You can connect the two computers using Firewire and Target Disk Mode. -
I have an iPhone 3gs and since I made the 6.01 update everytime I want to join a wireless network I get the same error "incorrect password" when I now it's correct, any one have a solution for this? Tks
I would say that you would want to look into the "Exchange Mode" for GMail. That would allow your iPhone to sync calendars, contacts and email with GMail just fine. Doing the same with your outlook should also then sync those same with your PC using Outlook. I've done teh iPhone side of this, but I since I don't run Lookout for my email client, I'm not sure how that will work on the PC side.

if you dont have the options to forget network you can reset your network settings, but than the device forget all networks

After updating software on Iphone (wifi worked fine before the software update) I now can not get on wifi. The phone with not find a working wifi network nor can I connect manually. Wifi is working on other devices. I have turned the phone on and off, turned the wifi router on and off and reset the iphone and down loaded updated software to the phone. Nothing has worked. Does anyone have an answer for this problem?

I changed my Apple ID to my new email address successfully for the iTunes and App store but it won't work for iCloud and it won't recognize my password. I read that this can't be done. How am I supposed to get into iCloud? I plan on getting rid of my old email address which is my old Apple ID so how is that going to work?

I changed my Apple ID to my new email and now cannot find any way to access icloud. Unfortunately I had allowed icloud to hijack my airbook files, so of course I am afraid I will lose them tomorrow when I exchange my iphone for a new one and cannot keep an icloud account i cannot access. How can I back up the iPhoto library when iPhoto won't open and I can't simply copy the iPhoto library packet because "some of the data canny be read from or written to"?
Regarding not being able to open iPhoto. As a test launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Were you able to create a new library?
If so then your current library is damaged and needs to be repaired.
Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start
with Option #4 and then #1 as needed.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

My six-year old grandson appears to be able to make purchases on the TV without having to enter the password and yet every other device i use (e.g. iPad, iPhone, iPod) is password protected. How is that possible when I have to use my password to access such services on all other devices?

Having AppleTV remember the password is optional.
Logout of iTunes store, log back in and hopefully next time you come to purchase you'll be prompted for your password but decline the option to remember it. You might also want to look out of parental controls on the unit.
