  • How can I visit the performance tab when the target DB is down?

    Hi, All:
I wonder if it is possible to visit the performance tab when the target DB is down. I thought it should be possible. But whenever I first click the performance tab, I will be asked to enter the user/passwd for the target db(I have set the preferred credentials).
Furthermore, is it possible to analyze the history sql/performance if the target db is not startup? and how can I do it?
    Thanks in advance

I have seen other postings by the same ID and my suggestion is that you have a look at the Enterprise Manager Documentation Library. After that, you can ask questions relating to subjects you cannot solve with the documentations.

  • How Can I always open Firefox to FireFTP

Prior to upgrading to 8.0.1 I had Firefox save my FireFTP tab so that everytime I open Firefox it opens the FireFTP tab because I use ftp a lot. Now that I've upgraded I can not figure out how to do this. I can not set the homepage to FireFTP because when I drag the icon over to the home button I get the not allowed indicator.

Are you dragging the tab or the favicon on the location bar?
If you drag a tab then try to keep the CTRL key pressed while dragging.

  • Why can't I save my tabs when I exit the Firefox browser?

That is to say, where is the option that was available in the previous version of firefox?
I ''don't'' care for the option "open browsers from last time" since I may not want to save my tabs each and every time, not to mention the fact that it's goddamn cumbersome to keep going to the options menu just to switch between "show my homepage" and "show my tabs" every time I use firefox. I mean honestly.
And don't even '''mention '''the "restore previous session" option. I can't help but feel like what I'm asking is that difficult to implement. Why was it removed in the first place? It was a very important feature for me, when Firefox would ask: "Do you want firefox to save your tabs for next time" when I'd close the window, and there was an option to stop firefox from asking for those who so wish.
Please bring back that feature, it suits my needs perfectly. I hope people remember what I'm referring to. I hope "about:config" has an option to bring this back...

You can have things the old way, and even if you don't choose to restore your tabs the next time Firefox starts you can still restore your through your history as John99 mentioned, should you change your mind after restarting Firefox.
See item #31 in the following
'''Restoring tabs from a lost session''' is now done after restarting through the '''History menu''' ("Alt+S") with "'''Restore previous session'''".
'''You can still have the old messages''', to make sure you get your tabs restored immediately, but with or without the messages and whichever way you respond to the message you can still get back your previous session through the History menu.

  • How can I eliminate the "new tab" when I open Firefox to my preset Home Page?

I have Firefox installed on a desktop and a netbook. On the desktop, when I launch Firefox it takes me to my homepage, and that is the only tab open. On the netbook, it opens to the homepage correctly, but there is also a second, blank tab, carrying the header "New Tab", just as though I had clicked on the "New Tab" icon in the toolbar. Since my homepage is a specialized search engine which opens each result in a new tab of its own, having the blank one already in place is annoying. How do I stop it from opening on launch?

Make sure that there isn't a pipe symbol appended to the home page setting.

  • How do I just close one tab when I have 3 open

If I have more than one tab open, I want to close only one but when I try to close the one I don't want a message comes up to say it will close all the tabs I have open. How do I just close the one I don't want

How did you close the tabs previously?
If you use the close X on the title bar then you close the window with all tabs.<br />
You need to use the close X on the tab.<br />
You can also middle-click the tab with the mouse scroll wheel to close the tab.

  • I can not get a new tab to open. It opens a new tab when I go to Firefox Help but not when I want to open a bookmark of other web site.

When I click on the tab bar I will not open a new tab.

That can be a problem with the Ask<i></i>.com toolbar (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions)
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • How do I restore my lost tabs, when I'm synchornising every day?

    Hi,
As I had some problems with FFox crashing unexpectedly I tried a solution, where I had to disable all my addons, restart FireFox and enable them again. But as I've done this and wanted to "Restore Previous Session" all what I got from restoring was the add-on's set-up.
So my question is: When I synchronize every day, how can I make a use of it? Is it possible to restore all my lost tabs?

Did you check for History > Recently Closed Tabs/Windows ?
You need to place sessionstore.js in the profile folder and thus have to rename sessionstore.bak to sessionstore.js
Firefox copies sessionstore.js to sessionstore.bak at the start of a session to make it possible to use "History > Restore Previous Session" to restore that session at any time.

  • How do I delete an app tab when unpin doesn't work?

Quite unexpectedly everytime I close out a session, an icon for an app tab for a news website remains on the firefox tab bar. I have right clicked the icon and clicked unpin app, and all that happens is the whole name of the website shows on the toolbar and there is no way to close the site and end it since there is no "x" on it to end the session on that website. I checked app tab info available on firefox and there is nothing in the questions available that answers this question, I have read them all that were offered on the topic of app tabs.

It is possible that there is a problem with the files [http://kb.mozillazine.org/sessionstore.js sessionstore.js] and sessionstore.bak in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder]
Delete [http://kb.mozillazine.org/sessionstore.js sessionstore.js] and sessionstore.bak in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder]
    * Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note).

  • How to turn of the "new tab/window" click sound in Firefox 4?

I have just installed Firefox 4.0.1 on Gentoo Linux.
Any time I open a new tab or window, there is a "click" sound. It sounds deliberate, like a notification.
The sound persists even when turning all addons off.
How can I disable that sound?

I tested this on my coworkers iPhone 5 running iOS8, and it does not occur for him. So it must be a bug. I am posted a bug report. Here is video of the issue happening: https://www.dropbox.com/s/6t7gwmvj0gc3wvh/IMG_3519.MOV?dl=0

  • Why do I loose my tabs when I start up firefox

Sometimes when I accidentally close the Firefox window and I re-open the window again I loose all of my app tabs that I have set up on my tool bar. Why does this happen? I have many app tabs and it takes a while to reset them. Is there also a way that I do not have to reset all my app tabs again?

Make sure that you do not use "Clear Recent History" to clear the "Browsing History" when Firefox is closed because that prevails and prevents Firefox from opening tabs from the previous session.
    * https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Clear+Recent+History
    * [1] http://kb.mozillazine.org/Session_Restore
    * [2] http://kb.mozillazine.org/sessionstore.js
    * [3] http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox
It is also possible to use the "Show my windows and tabs from last time" setting, that is usually a more reliable way to restore session data.
    * [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Menu_differences Firefox/Tools > Options] > General > Startup: "When Firefox Starts": "Show my windows and tabs from last time"
If you use cleanup software like CCleaner then make sure that Session is unchecked in the settings for the Firefox application.

  • Firefox is asking to close all tabs when I close a firefox popup message.

Open 2 or 3 sites in tab, and click a link which gives popup message, close the popup message, firefox asks to close all the tabs, which does not use to happen before in older versions. Please advice

For example, on the following link:
    http://www.amazon.com/Clear2GO-Water-Bottle-with-Filter/dp/B002VPRKSC/ref=pd_sim_k_4
When I click on the water bottle image, a window pops up with an enlarged picture of the product. However, when I try to close the popup, it asks me if I want to close all my tabs.

  • Is inbox related to Mozilla? If not how did I end up with it when I upgraded my Firefox?

What is inbox that appeared on my firefox? Is it related to firefox? If not how do I get rid of it? This happened after I upgraded to latest version. Thank you

hello, no this is not part of firefox. please always make sure that you're only downloading firefox from the official location at getfirefox.com. please try these steps to get rid of this adware:
    # go to firefox > help > troubleshooting information > profile folder - "show folder", then a new window will open up. in this window look out for a file named '''user.js''' (it might be used to overwrite your custom settings). in case it is present , delete or rename this file and restart firefox afterwards. [[How to fix preferences that won't save]]
    # then install the search reset addon - it will revert the most common customizations those adware programs do in firefox back to the default: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/searchreset/
    # finally run a full scan of your system with different security tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes] & [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner] to make sure that there isn't adware in other places as well.

  • How do I enable opening firefox from two different computers sharing the same home directory without having to delete a lock file (linux).

I just don't want to have to delete a lock file - which has a purpose - in order to use firefox simultaneously from two locations on the network - where the home directory, i.e. .mozilla directory - is located

You need to use two separate profiles if you want to have two Firefox instances open at the same time.

  • How do I get my Yahoo homepage when I click on Firefox?

I want to KEEP my Yahoo homepage, can I do this when I log on with Firefox?

It did merge them after a fashion, glad I took a backup first even if I did only perhaps create 3 or 4 bookmarks today. So if I have bookmark separators, it's going to figure out which group to put them in (no way). Anyway I thought they would just go down to the bottom of the bookmarks menu like the other method, like when I export and import bookmarks in Firefox where they do go to the end of the Bookmarks Menu folder and would simply delete one folder.
Anyway this would not be typical because I don't want any bookmarks from IE.
