How do I re-size the Lr window?

I'm new to Lightroom - transitioning over from Aperture. I'm running Yosemite on an older (early 2008) 24" iMac.
How do I re-size the Lr window? At present it seems to be locked at full size. Note that this is NOT Full Screen, which I can still toggle to using <F>.

How do I turn off the downloads window? I recently upgraded FF, hated the new one, so downgraded back. When I upgraded I got the new downloads ribbon at the bottom of the screen and no longer had the downloads window. However, for whatever reason I decided to turn the window on. But when I downgraded I realized that this interferes with programs that I had previously set up to download directly to a certain program. Bottom line... I do NOT want the downloads window.

I know you can go to Tools, then Options, and click the Downloads tab and configure how you want it that way. Do you have the Download Manager Tweak as an add on?

Having the preview window up to get a quick and good overview of your mail is very handy and I understand you would like to get that feature back!
Have you tried to close the mail app using cmd+q and opening again? Have you tried taking your mouse the whole way to the right in the mail window and try to "drag" the preview window back out again?

I pretty sure this isn't possible. You could write something which uses JNI to call native methods, but you'd have to have methods avaliable to call. So suppose you wanted a process on a Windows machine to read the text in an instance of IE's address text box you'd first need a way to do this with Windows specific code. And I can't think how you'd do that - unless you are directly interacting with the OS. So I'm afraid there is no easy way to do this in Java, and even the very difficult way with JNI may not even be possible.

How can a servlet close the browser window it is running in?

I'm running the servlet by calling it in a browser window, passing parameters using POST, with the parameters appearing at the end of the url.
Is there another way to run the servlet, without it affecting the browser window? That would be a better solution.

How can I switch off the automatic window size and set the size of the window manually

I need to open the web-page in a window of a certain size. The javascript function window.resizeTo (w, h) does not work. If I open the window using the window.open ("", "", "width: w, height: h, ..."), there is another problem.
The hyperlinks that have to be opened in a new tab in the same window or at least in the window of the same size, will open in another tab of the first window from which I called window.open().
I do not know what it is, bug or as intended, but the normal full-featured window with the right size I cannot get.

Не знаю, что это. Баг или так задумано. Но открыть нормальное полноценное окно с нужными размерами не получается никак.

You need an extension if you want to set the window dimensions to a specific value or you need to open a pop-up window with window.open and specify the width and height.<br />
Otherwise a new window opens with some default dimensions as saved in localstore.rdf and you can't easily adjust the dimensions via JavaScript in that case.

How does one change change fonts in the Finder Window?
I've done it before and I know it's different in the Side Bar and for the fonts in Column View or List View.
It doesn't seem to be in Finder Preferences.
I can't find in in System Preferences.
It's not in Font Book.

If you click the Action Gear you have the option to change font sizes. I am not sure if changing the font per se is possible without a system hack which I do not recommend.

How to set default size for .chm window?

I know there is an answer at grainge.org, but it seems to be
referring only to a .chm using skins, which I am not.
Anybody know how to make the default size of the .chm larger?

The default window size is set in your windows properties
dialog in RoboHelp. It can also be set manually in the .hhp file
before you compile. If you open the .hhp file in a text editor,
such as Notepad, you will see a [WINDOWS] section and for each
window defined there will be a series of numbers. One of these is a
vector [in square brackets] that defines the original position.
These are absolute screen pixels.
In older versions of RoboHelp, one of which I use, there was
a limit to the size of the window RH would allow but when I changed
the .hhp, RoboHelp didn't try to overwrite it unless I reopened the
Windows properties dialog. I'm not sure how the latest versions
handle this but you might try editing the .hhp with Notepad and
then compiling the .chm.

How to print items in the MAIN window of the NEXT page (smartform)?

Dear forumers,
There are two pages (FIRST and NEXT) in my smartform with the same MAIN windows in each of the pages. Whatever that are changed in FIRST-MAIN window will also be seen in NEXT-MAIN window.
I will need to control the printing of table TABLE3 contents (already contained in the MAIN window) such that if a variable V_MAT_PRINT is 'X', the TABLE3 contents will only be printed in NEXT page and not printed in FIRST page at all.
How may I achieve this? Please help.

Here's my case.
If V_MAT_PRINT is 'X', print the following:-
FIRST page, MAIN window
- TABLE1
- TABLE2
- TABLE4
- TABLE5
NEXT page, MAIN window
- TABLE3
If V_MAT_PRINT is not 'X', print the following (no additional controls / changes are needed, everything remains unchanged):-
MAIN window
- TABLE1
- TABLE2
- TABLE3
- TABLE4
- TABLE5
In this case, is a page break suitable? I doubt it as TABLE4 and TABLE5 will still need to be printed back on the FIRST page regardless of the V_MAT_PRINT value.

How to arrange files in the files window?

I just finished doing the cut of a movie in Premiere Pro and hit the the "edit in Audition" button to do the music and audio. And now the problem: when Audition opened I just saw the hundreds of audio files in the file window (2 for every scene) and until now I didn't find out any possibility to arrange them in subfolders or anything else like you do it in AE or Premiere.
So right now Audition is more or less useless as I have to spend minutes to find my music files within the other files...

What option did you use to send your files over? There's two "paradigms" for editing in Audition from within Premiere. The first is editing of specific assets or clips. In this case, you select one or more clips and choose Edit > Edit in Adobe Audition > Edit Clip which will perform a render & replace operation, then open the new, linked files in Audition. Any change you make to these files in Audition will be reflected in the corresponding Premiere clip. This is generally the mode used when you want to perform Noise Reduction or add effects to specific clips.
The other paradigm is editing the entirety of the sequence. This method creates a new session in Audition that mirrors your current Premiere timeline, even rendering a preview video. Here, you can apply edits to any clip in the timeline within Audition, re-record portions, add new audio, and mix and master the session, sending back rendered stems to Premiere.
Audition doesn't emulate the "project" format of Premiere, so the Files panel is less of an organizational tool than a collection of the raw assets in a timeline. We are exploring how the "bin" concept that Pr and AE use might be applied, but historically there is a definite distinction between the two workflows.

How to make JFrame become the topmost window?

I have server that is supposed to show a TOPMOST JFrame window each time it gets a "Show Window" command from client. I use JFrame to create and show the window in the server code:

If I run the server under windows platform, the first created JFrame window is always hiding behind under other application windows. However, the JFrame windows other than the 1st one are always at top.
The BAD thing is, if I run the server under Macintosh platform, the JFrame windows are always hiding behind the other application windows.
Does anyone know how to fix the problem? i.e., making the JFrame window appear on top of other windows under any platforms?

there is some weirdness with java I've noticed under windows during development. When you start the app from a console window or script, if you change focus to another window before the first java window shows up, it will show up behind the window you changed focus to. If you leave it alone until the window shows, it will be on top. A work around is after you call show(), call toFront().

How Can I Bring Up the Download Window Again?

I downloaded an update for a program. I want to burn it to a CD for safety. How can I bring the downloading window again to find it? Just looking in the download folder doesn't help. I need to see the downloading window to see the last thing downloaded. Or is there another way to search for the downloads where it has them listed by date downloaded? I'm using Leopard 10.5.8 Thanks in advance.

it is very slow online and when i went on today there was a message to reset to default settings. when i clicked that, it told me to go to the firefox window so i could reset. i don't know how to get to the firefox window. firefox immediately goes to my browser which is comcast. when i click on firefox above, it stays in comcast.

When you reset Firefox then a new profile is created and some personal data (bookmarks, history, cookies, passwords, form data) is automatically imported and the current profile folder will be moved to the desktop to an "Old Firefox Data" folder.
Installed extensions and other customizations (toolbars, prefs) that you have made are lost and need to be redone.
It is possible to recover more data from the old profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem
