Mail application is still there. All of my emails and folders are gone since iCloud. How can I get them back using Snow Leopard? Or can I? Do I have to wait for Mountain Lion?

I need to check a few other things...
Click on 'Mail' in the upper left corner next to the Apple ()
    Click Preferences
    Click the 'Accounts' tab
Make sure your iCloud account is highlighted in the column on the left.
In the account information section what does it say next to:
    Incoming Mail Server?
    Outgoing Mail Server?
Also, did you use MobileMe before the iCloud?

  • How to setup airport extreme A1034 using snow leopard?

I bought a used Airport Extreme A1034 and, barring that it is not broken, am I able to set it up as wireless base station?  I am using snow leopard, I currently use an airport express as a wireless router.  I cannot get the airport extreme to appear in my airport utility wirelessly.  It will appear in the airport utility if it is connect to my Mac via ethernet, but when I go to save the settings and the device goes to reseet, it just does not come back online.  I have done numerous factory default resets.  Any advice?

Please check out the following Apple Support article on how to configure a WDS.

  • How to extract Subtitles from DVD using Snow Leopard?

    Hey there,
this may be off-topic, but I don't know where to ask. Anyone know how I can extract Subtitltes and create an .srt File from a Movie DVD using Snow Leopard?

I too have been looking diligently for something I can use to glean .srt files from DVD's.  Secondarily, .sub/.idx files.  I didn't quite realize how much software would be made useless by my shift to Lion.  Amazing amounts!
Is there any other product, commercial or otherwise that is known to accomplish this task?
If one is found, please update the discussion here!  Thanks.

  • If I use iCloud on my iPad, will it change my MobileMe functions like iWeb on my iMac? My iMac uses Snow Leopard.

If I use iCloud on my iPad, will it change my MobileMe functions on my iMac which uses Snow Leopard. In other words will it disable functions like iWeb on my iMac?

As a follow-up . . . I downloaded and installed Virtual Box, purchased a legal issue of Windows XP (not easy since Microsoft doesn't sell it anymore), installed it, installed Quicken 2009 in "the Box" and then the problems began. Trying to migrate my Quicken data files from my laptop PC to the Virtual Box Quicken program turned out to be the most frustrating thing I've been through for quite awhile. Error after error without any explanation of what I was doing wrong (or not doing) kept me scratching my head and re-reading the VB manual for nearly two days. Today I finally had success and all three of my Quicken accounts are comfortably residing in my iMac and working perfectly (so far . . . knock, knock).
It was well worth the effort because now all I need to do is open VB (about 3 seconds), click open Windows (about 5 seconds) and open Quicken ( <5 more seconds) and I'm ready to go to work.
    Thanks for the advice typod360 . . . it's much apprecoiated.

  • How much energy does an iMac uses in volts? (regular and when it is asleep)

How much energy does an imac uses

The voltage during sleep or usage is the same. It's the current in Amperes that changes. The "energy" is the wattage consumed which is Volts times Amperes. That information should be in the User Guide. If you don't have one you can download one here.
According to the specifications the rated power consumption is 200 watts for the 20" model and 280 watts for the 24" model. Sleep consumption is probably around 40 watts.

  • CD/DVD Drive Not working on iMac using Snow Leopard

Can anyone help me with a possible solution as to why my CD/DVD Drive on my iMac (running Snow Leopard 10.6.8) has suddenly stopped recognizing any inserted discs?
It makes a noise - as if it's trying to read them - but then ejects them! Although my iMac is quite old, the actual CD/DVD Drive was only replaced a couple of years ago!
I'd be grateful of any help, alternatively a rough idea of price for either replacing the drive (if it has gone to the great Apple Drive in the sky) or a plug-in removable drive? Thanks

Try resetting the SMC Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC) and PRAM OS X Mavericks: Reset your computer’s PRAM
sometimes it helps. You can also try a cleaning disc or blowing some compressed air into the mechanism to get rid of any dust that may be affecting it. The bottom line is that the slot loading SuperDrive, mounted sideways and exposed to the heat generated inside an imac, just doesn't last long. You're better off with an external drive, LG makes good ones for less than $30 http://www.amazon.com/LG-GE24NU30-Super-Multi-External-DVD-Writer/dp/B007WLP0BY/ ref=sr_1_20?ie=UTF8&qid=1413369637&sr=8-20&keywords=lg+super+multi+drive

  • How do I restore the iMac using Time Machine?, How do I restore the iMac using Time Machine?

My Outlook 2011 shows no messages which started right after I ran  SyncMate.  I decided to restore  my system using Time Machine, but that did not make Outlook show my emails.  Outlook indicates that I have several messages, but none appear.  Suggestions please.

    Thanks den.thed,
Apologies for not replying back sooner - I've been away.
Although your suggestion helped me in getting a copy of Lion that I could use, it didn't help with the restore from Time Capsule issue.  I had to download the Lion app onto my MacBook & then transfer it across but it wouldn't let me upgrade my OS for some reason, so I ended up wiping the iMac completely and restoring via my Snow Leopard install disk.  For some reason, this time, it let me have the option of using Setup Assistant to access the Time Capsule for a complete restore.
Now, over a week later, with various bits of tweaking and reinstalling some apps that didn't seem to come across, I have my system back.
    Thanks for the help anyway.
    Cheers,
    Paul

  • How do I reboot my Emac using the restore discs?

My emac has frozen on the finder with a window open and i need to reboot from cd. Having managed to get the restore disc in the drive (by holding the mouse while restarting), when i restart with the disc in the drive and holding 'C' it doesn't start up from the optical drive. Does anyone have an idea why or any helpful suggestions?

You may want to post your topic here, but as far as I know, you should be able to just instert the OS restore disc and hit reboot.......IF that is yyo can get into the finder without it freezing up. Otherwise, you may have to boot from your techtool CD that came with it if you got applecare and see if it can find a problem........

  • I used to used disk waqrrior to rebuild my directory on my mac's.  my new imac directory is 45 % out of order it says.  is there a program to rebuild my directory on my new imac using snow leopard?

I am trying to find a way to rebuild my directory which is 45% out of order.  Disk warrior has not issued a new  program yet that in the past always fixed this problem.  Does anyone have a suggestion?

Which version of DW do you have? The current version is 4.4 and it works on both SL and Lion. And, please note, depending on the Mac model you have, DW may not be able to boot your system, which, to me, is a blessing in disguise. As long as you have a bootable clone on an external, install DW there and run it on your internal while booted from the external. Beats the extraordinarily long boot times as well as the "how do I get outta here" problems when you're done with DW.

  • How to alphabetize bookmarks in safari using snow leopard

What is the easiest best way to alphabetize the bookmarks in safari without having to drag them individually?

Thanks, balto. Unfortunately, my little macbook won't let me expand enough. I even deleted a couple folders to try to make space, but that didn't work (just fewer to scroll though, but it didn't create any blank space). The way my window looks is: History, Bookmarks Bar, Bookmarks Menu, Address Book, Bonjour (?), and All RSS Feeds (all under the heading Collections), then the separate heading Bookmarks. This is where I have all my folders that contain all my bookmarked sites. I have 27 folders.
While searching the forums for help on this issue, I saw an example where the user's folders were under his Bookmarks Menu. Maybe this is why he could do this, and I can't? Because mine are under Bookmarks instead?
I might be better off just doing all the alphabetizing manually

  • Will my Microsoft Office 2004 still work if I upgrade to Yosemite (currently using Snow Lepoard)

I never upgraded to Maverick because of a pop-up warning that suggested my older Microsoft Office program would no longer work.  Don't really want or need to deal with paying for a new Office, esp a subscription based on.  Trying to decide if upgrading is worth the hassel or if it is even a problem.  Thanks for your help! Ken B, Ashland Oregon

MS Office 2004 has not been compatible with OS X since Lion, OS X 10.7. You will need to either purchase a new license of MS Office or you can use one of the free MS Office look alikes such as LibreOffice (http://www.libreoffice.org/). You also may still be able to find MS Office for Mac 2011 which works fine on Yosemitie, you can find that on Amazon and even Ebay.
