  • How to capture the remot desktop using RMI?

    Hi friends..
I am doing a mini project to capture the remot desktop using RMI. I am very new with this subject. So 'm waiting for the help of experts...

You can't. RMI doesn't do that. After you have captured it, some other way, you can transmit it via RMI, or plain Sockets, or several other ways.

  • HOW REBUILD THE DESKTOP FILE ON INTEL CORE DUO I MAC ?

On my old I mac, I could restart the computer, and while it was restarting, I held down both option key and apple key at same time until a message appeared which asked if I wanted to rebuild the desktop file. I tried this same thing on my new Intel Core Duo I mac, but nothing happened. The reason I want to rebuild the desktop file is because things are slowing down. Everything works, but there is a delay between the command, and the resulting action. Please tell me how I can speed up things again. Is there some other means to try to eliminate delays on my present Intel computer? Thanks in advance.

If you have several GB free space on the HD, the next question would be, do you turn the Mac off or put it in system sleep overnight? That can prevent the cron maintenance tasks from running (display-only sleep allow the tasks to run). Tiger is supposed to track if the maintenance tasks haven't run and launch the tasks outside of the nominal 3AM timeframe if enough time has elapsed, but the timing and real-world functionality of that test is unclear. You can leave the Mac in display-only sleep a few times a month (especially the first weekend of the month); you can manually Force Background Maintenance; or you can use a third-party utility such as OnyX to run the maintenance. Note that any system utility you use must be compatible with the OS version (e.g., use the Tiger version of OnyX with 10.4.x).

  • How do I rebuild a common library used by both iPhoto and Aperture?

I'm using a common library for both iPhoto and Aperture—latest versions of each and Mavericks. I'm finding photos that are in the library that seem to have fallen out of their events or projects. When I open those events or projects, the folders are empty, however the photos are still in the database. How do I rebuild this library so as to recover my original organization?

it will not matter, if you rebuild in iPhoto or Aperture.
You rebuild the library by launching either Aperture or iPhoto while holding down the key combination⌥⌘  (option-command)  and double-clicking  the Aperture or iPhoto icon. Keep holding down the keys, until you are seeing the Library First Aid panel.  Select to Rebuild the database.
Back up your library before rebuilding.
When I open those events or projects, the folders are empty, however the photos are still in the database. How do I rebuild this library so as to recover my original organization?
Where are you seeing the photos, that are missing from the projects, but are still in the database?
Rebuilding will collect photos, that have lost the connection to the edited versions, and show them in a "Recovered Project".  It will not restore them to the original  projects, if it is not clear, what where the originals belong to.
Have you checked, if you have filters set, that are hiding the photos? Check the search fields in the browser and the Info panel, if they are cleared and set to "Show All".

  • How to create a Pooled VDI infrastructure using Win server 2012 as VM image?I have followed the "usual" way to build a pooled VDI desktop using Win7 or Win8 with success, but it fails when I use an image of Win Server 2012 as VM

I have followed the "usual" way to build a pooled VDI desktop using Win7 or Win8 with success, but it fails when I use an image of Win Server 2012 as VM instead.
Am I overlooking something?  Should I need to prepare the image in a different way? (Sysprep differently?)
    Thanks

    Hi,
Thank you for your posting in Windows Server Forum.
Can you specify the error which you are facing during VDI setup for server 2012?
I might think that you need to check the memory setting for server 2012, as might happens that due to less memory you can’t setup the VDI setup properly.
Memory: If the Master VM is configured with static memory, it must have at least 1024 MB as startup RAM. If the Master VM is configured with dynamic memory, the maximum RAM must be at least 1024 MB.
Please check beneath article for information.

  • How to fix a looping desktop NOT related to Stuffit?

This very similar to another thread but I feel it's NOT related to it.
At first I thought it was related until I got further into the solution. I did download the 2008-08 security update as well as QT 7.6. That's when I think the problem started. The difference being that after xx iterations, the desk top would appear and work OK. If the computer sat idle for 3 - 4 hours (not likely due to our work load) it would loop again once I woke it up. It always happens sitting overnight. The problem is now approaching 2 weeks of acting this way. I didn't have any of the other symptoms like folder closing, applications quitting, etc.
I thought after looking for this AVR file I realized that I don't have Stuffit anywhere in my system. So that fix would not do me any good. I surmised that it might be a start up item in system preferences under users so I started bypassing them one at a time until I only had one left. That one was bypassed last night and made the loop count the highest ever at 84. Today, I noticed after removing (un-checking) all the start up items, one kept being executed (the opening a of a .dmg file).
It's tough to test if the fixes cure the problem because I have to wait 3 - 4 hours before it will fail. Usually I just wait overnight because our G-5 is in constant us with two of using it to get actual work accomplished.
This morning I thought it would never start but after 84 loops it broke out. Before it finally breaks out, the next to last loop stays up for 30 seconds giving you the false hope that it is over then it goes one more time and it's up and running. And another interesting thing is that if I can't wait for it to finish looping, I do a reboot and all is well and it starts up normally.
I have run Tech Tools Pro on all drives and they are all OK. Ran diagnostics on all components of the system hardware and all were OK. I even ran disk repair and permissions on all drives and all OK.
Any other suggestions, observations or sources I can go to would be very helpful. My Apple care ran out a year ago so I can't go there.
    Thanks for responding,
    Al

Thanks for the rapid response!  This morning it took 89 loops to wake up.  The number is growing.
*+Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...+*
    /private/var/run/StartupItems
    /Library/StartupItems
    /System/Library/StartupItems
I did the above from your previous post and found nothing.  BTW how do you look for an invisible file?
Back under system 9 when the computer was doing things like this, we just rebuilt the desk top and it went away.  Now I'm not as up to speed on os x so do we need to rebuild the desktop from time to time and if so how does one go about doing this?
This morning, all of the startup items that I hid in systems preference/accounts appeared to work correctly as the .dmg did not open and did not appear on the desk top.
Another anomaly happening is from time to time I lose an icon (shows icon as a ?) in the tool bar but the application still works and restores the icon when you click on it.
I think I might have accomplished the same thing as safe boot by bringing up Tech Tools Pro from their emergency drive. After I did that I ran disk utility repair disk and repair permissions on all of my hard drives and it didn't find anything. All hard drives have been optimized last week.
My frustration is that it takes 3 - 4 hours for it to do the looping. Tonight, I will do the safe boot and see what happens in the morning. When operating under safe boot will I see my regular desk top with folders and files?
Now moving on. Is it possible and if so, how would I back out the recent security update and the QT update to see if that corrects the looping. Would going to os 10.5.6 fix this problem? I would like to stay with my current operating system. I realize that Apple has its' resources working on upgrading the 10.5 system and maybe things will get worse for us that are on os 10.4.x and wish to stay there.
I appreciate your support and that of others on this forum for without you, there would be no place to turn as Apple seems to be unreachable unless you have Apple Care.
Have a great day on this Super Bowl Sunday!
    Al

  • My iPhoto '08 (v 7.1.5) shows a blank screen (no photos). How do I rebuild it from my iPhoto library.  Thanks!

My iPhoto '08 (v 7.1.5) shows a blank screen (no photos). How do I rebuild it from my iPhoto library.  Thanks!

Try these in order - from best option on down...
    1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
    2. Download <a href="http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/"><b><u>iPhoto Library Manager</b></u></a> and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
    3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new *iPhoto 08* library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Events and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
In the iPhoto Preferences -> Events Uncheck the box at 'Imported Items from the Finder'
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Event Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.

  • How do I install CC Desktop and Apps to a drive other than "C"?

After several problems, help from the forum, and finally an Adobe tech from India, the tech was able to install CC Desktop.  The tech had to make hidden files visible, and change an existing file OO?? (I can't remember the last two letters") to OO??_old.  Maybe this will help someone else.
Perhaps I'm wrong, but as the tech was downloading and installing CC Desktop, I didn't see any option for which drive to install it on.  I am now installing CC apps.  I see no option as to which drive to install the app.
    I have my computer setup as C: operating system; D: sctratch; E: programs; F: files, G: cd/dvd.
How can I install CC Desktop to "E"?  If done, will CC apps automatically install on "E"?  Will CC Desktop work properly on other than "C" drive?   Will CC apps work properly on other than "C" drive?  If CC Desktop should always be on "C", can I stll install CC apps on "E"?  I get no dialog box or window providing an option of where to install any of the CC programs.

While CCApp Prefs does give you this option, it doesn't respect the settings and still installs to C: Drive. This is a big problem for those using an SSD drive to boot. Why would something as simple as choosing your install folder, like every other application in the world be an issue that has taken over a year to fix?

  • I have downloaded the 30 day free trial using Adobe Download Assistant but I do not know how to open it and start using it.

I have downloaded the 30 day free trial using Adobe Download Assistant but I do not know how to open it and start using it.

This was so annoying!! It took me a good couple of hours but i figured it out, you need to do the following: Go to the folder where you saved the download (in my case i saved it in My Downloads) -> click on 'Adobe Photoshop Elements 12' -> click on 'PSE 12' -> click on 'Setup' (select the icon which is a box with a shield) -> follow instructions and....voila! You will need to restart when it suggests so save anything else first, then when it reboots you should see the icon on your desktop....hpe this helps!

  • How to print uspto patent images using Safari and Quicktime

    3/18/06
Do you want to know how to print US patent images using Safari? Read on.
When you access the "images" link of a specific patent on the www.uspto.gov/ website using Safari, the page you are viewing is only one small upper left tile of a huge patent image that is not sized to the screen. You can scroll and try to read the page but it's almost impossible. Try to print it out and you only print what's on the screen. Bummer.
    The fix:
Place the cursor on the opened image (it may appear blank), hold down the CONTROL key on you keyboard and click on the image. Two instructions come up. Click on the "Save Image to the Desktop" instruction and a DImg.tiff file will be created on your desktop. Click on the .tiff file and it should open in the Preview program, then simply print out the image. Voila!!!!
Click the yellow arrow in the left margin to access page 2 of the patent and repeat the previous instructions to create another .tiff file on your destop. Do every page and you'll have the patent available to print out one page at a time.
You can then rename the files and create a folder for that specific patent so you can access it later without signing onto uspto site.
It's odd that the ever compatible Apple does not provide seamless compatibility to view and print patent images on the US Patent and Trademark Office's website. Where would they be without protecting their own intellectal property? Let's hope the next version of Quicktime includes the appropriate ITU T.6 or CCITT Group 4 (G4) compression language.
Even the "throw it out the Windows" operating system is up to speed on this issue for America's hard working inventors.
    Keep on inventing.
