How do I recover .emix messages into Mail app?

I wanted to rebuild my mailbox because of some issues I was having with a rule not catching all the files I thought it should. I am using 4 POP accounts all on the same smtp server. I have 10s of thousands of messages so I knew it might take some time. When I selected it, all messages disappeared from all mailboxes, including the folders on my Mac. I was patient for a while, but when over 24 hours had passed with no visible sign that anything was happening. I force quit the app and relaunched. Everything was still empty. Per another discussion, I deleted the old Envelope index files from the MailData folder and relaunched. It seemed to work, taking a couple of hours to reimport, and everything looked fine. But now I find that all the old messages in my Wife's Mail account are empty. However they all still exist in her INBOX.mbox folder, but in a subfolder called Data-T0x600000673740-T75NeQ instead of the Data folder, which holds only the messages since the restart. So I have all these .emix files but how do I reimport them to the program? Remembering that they already appear in the list as if they exist.

As an update. I tried using an emix to mbox converter, but, while it did create an mbox with the ~18k messages, when imported messages had no from, date or subject entries, so finding any old message would be incredibly difficult. All formatting and attachments were gone as well.

  • Is it possible to import messages into Mail that are in .csv format?

Just in case my previous topic subject was preventing some folks from checking this out, I'lll try to ask my question in a more generic way.
I have an archive of a mailbox from another email program that I'm trying to move over to Apple Mail. My archive is saved as a .csv file. I can open the file in either Numbers, Excel, or TextEdit, and I can see that all the info is there. However, I want to be able to import these into Mail so that I can integrate these old messages with my other emails. I would want to be able to search for these messages using Mail's search tools and be able to identify messages based on who they're from, the subject line, date received, etc.
Specifically, this archive was exported out of Earthlink Total Access. My only options out of Earthlink were to export out as either .csv or a proprietary .dat file. I'm trying to figure out how to get the .csv file into Mail. I tried going through Entourage, but Entourage only imports contacts from a .csv file and not messages. I found a Unix utility that coverts a .csv to an mbox file (which Entourage would be able to import), but I'm not sure how to get it to work (I'm not that swift with Unix).

    Any brilliant ideas?

I too am trying to transfer Total Access messages into Mail and have stumbled at every attempt to use other software, such as Entourage and OE, as intermediaries. I would love to hear if you get any response to this question. I was able to transfer all the addresses, but not the messages.

How can I recover deleted messages from iphone 4?

    You don't.
E-mail is kept on your e-mail server.
Have you failed to import your photos to your comptuer regularly?
If so, then they are likely gone.  You can try restoring from backup.

How do I recover deleted message conversation

First. Do you HAVE a backup? The backup is done when you plug the phone to a computer running iTunes and tell iTunes to back up the phone. iTunes keeps just a single backup of each iDevice it services, the last one. You can check if and when the last backup was made by going into iTunes' Preferences / Devices window.
Once you are absolutely sure you have a valid backup of that specific phone, you can click on it's entry in the Devices section of the sidebar and on the Summary pane do a Restore Backup...
Do NOT do a new backup first. Else the new backup will overwrire the old and you will lose the messages for good. iTunes keeps just a single backup of each iDevice it services, the last one.

What do you mean it does on your iPhone?
If you download a new email to your computer and read that mail and then download it to the iPhone it sees it as already read? Then maybe the iPhone is using the Hotmail IMAP system? Not sure.

How can you recover text messages that have been deleted from an iphone?

If the phone was backed up either to iCloud or iTunes on your computer BEFORE the texts were deleted, restoring the backup will restore the texts to your phone.  If they were not backed up, they're gone permanently.

On that same theme, a local backup stored in a computer by iTunes is the quickest way to get this done. And if you want, can keep multiple backups of the device in iTunes' store. Just go to iTunes / Preferences / Devices, where you'll see the backups being kept, of which device they belong to and the dates (hover the mouse cursor over each entry for more info). By default, only one backup of each device is kept, but you can Control-Click on the backup and choose Archive from the popup menu.

If the conversation was on the phone the last time you did a backup, you can restore to that backup. However, remember that anything that you have done since that backup on the phone would be lost.

  • I need a multiple message voice mail app for Iphone 4S that also provides an auto-attendant, e.g the caller can dial 1 for one of business's or 2 for the other. Each of these options will need to have a different voice mail greeting. Help please?

There are no alternative voicemail apps - the core functionality of the phone can not be replaced.
You'll have to look for an external service, that can then forward calls for each caller onto the correct phone.
At our business we use Voipfone.co.uk which allows multiple phone lines to come into one VOIP account.

You need to be logged into iTunes using the same Apple ID (iTunes Store account) you used when you oiginally purchased the songs from the iTunes Store.  You can check the Apple ID used to purchase a particular song by doing a Get Info on the song and looking for Account Name on the Summary tab of the Info window.
If you are still having problems, you should contact iTunes Store support, starting at this link

  • Why am I unable to edit messages in Mail App 7.0 on iMAC in Mavericks

Why am I unable to edit messages in Mail App 7.0 on iMAC in Mavericks?

    Back up all data.
Launch the Font Book application and validate all fonts. You must select the fonts in order to validate them. See the built-in help and this support article for instructions. If Font Book finds any issues, resolve them.
From the application's menu bar, select
    File ▹ Restore Standard Fonts...
You'll be prompted to confirm, and then to enter your administrator login password.
Boot in safe mode to rebuild the font caches. Boot again as usual and test.
Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode. In that case, ask for instructions.
Also note that if you deactivate or remove any built-in fonts, for instance by using a third-party font manager, the system may become unstable.
