How do i recover iphoto if it was deleted on leopard

when i got my macbook from my girlfriend, she deleted her photos after transfering them to an external HD. after that was done and the computer was restored to factory, iphoto would say "iphoto could not be opened because the file was damaged or incomplete" i upgraded to snow leopard thinking i would at least get the newer one upon install but its still damaged. how do i recover? or when i upgrade to lion will that fix it? 

If you just deleted it from the catalog, it's still on your hard drive, unless you also turned on the "Also delete from hard drive" checkbox, so all you need to do is find it and import it again.

    First look, if it is still in your Trash. If yes, use "Put Back".
    To download it from the App Store, launch the App Store and sign into the App Store (in the "Store" menu) with the AppleID you used when you set up your Mac and accepted iPhoto to your AppleID or when you purchased it.  Then open the "Purchases" tab of the App Store window and download iPhoto again.  You should see an "Install" button to the right of "IPhoto", if you already owned the current version of iPhoto.     If you have a recent iCloud backup that was done when that message was on the devcie, you can restore from that backup.
    No, Apple does not keep your messages, no do they have access to them. That would be a serious invasion of privacy, don't you think?

    Sorry, there is no file recovery for files you delete from cloud storage. If you made a local backup then you can restore from it.

    Do you have the current MacOS X version 10.10.2?
    Then you can simply move iPhoto from the Applications folder to the Trash,
    sign into the App Store with your own AppleID
    reload the "Featured" main page of the AppStore with ⌘R,
    then download iPhoto with your own AppleID.
    Make a backup of your iPhoto Library, before your launch the new iPhoto the first time,
    If your current system is not Yosemite, you can only buy a boxed iLife 11 version of iPhoto to install it independent of the previous owner.

    If you have an iTunes backup or iCloud backup containing that note you can restore from that backup.
    If you have no backups the note is gone.

    If you don't have Time Machine enabled on your Mac you'll need to use a file recovery applicaiton like   SubrosaSoft FileSalvage.  FileSalvage had a demo mode to let you know what it can find and recover before you have to purchase it.  However, it won't be able to recover the folder, only the files in the folder.

    You can recover deleted video files from webcam with webcam recovery software, take a look at this guide:

    Do you mean that you deleted an app by mistake and you don't know which one it was?
    Look for it in the Apps section of iTunes. If you used iTunes to sync your phone, just choose Install next to the app, then resync.
